I think if there's any other rock band that can truly pull off this kind of shrieking gutteral voice on lead vocals, it's Our Lady Peace. A band with a name that sounds religious but is also very unafraid of controversial lyrics. Try the song called Clumsy if you haven't already.

The album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness came out when I was 12 years old. My girlfriend had a t shirt with the album on it. The two disc cd went with us everywhere! Every song is beautifully unique in its own way and has created peaceful memories. Everyone has one favourite album. This album is my absolute personal and most comforting favourite. I was there at the beginning of Pumpkins when they were playing clubs in Hollywood. Their first record "Gish" is still their best in my opinion. A truly overlooked song from that album is "I Am One" balls out rockin' which we definitely don't have with new music today.

The singer is awesome. He made the band and constantly had to deal with his bandmates bullshit. 😂 He even recorded everything for their first two albums because studio time costs money and he was the only one that could record in one take. Basically he gets demonized for not being a peoole pleaser. Also his social skills aren't the best. He's a lot better these day though. He's had a lot of therapy. One of my favorite bands.

I have likes and dislikes with band. But as a youth, playing in a few different bands, when this came out, I remember how we just worshipped at the alter of Jimmy Chamberlain. Listening to him now, my opinion has not changed. His skill level was so far beyond his peers, and his signature was unique and immediately identifiable. I'm glad he got leave his mark in the music world before he moved on.

I’ve been listening to them since they came out. IMHO, this group is like two groups in one. You have the dark, edgy side; however, they also give you some slower, for lack of a better term, “mellow, touchy feely stuff.” I would suggest the song Eye, which was used for the Lost Highway soundtrack, or Ava Adore, that will give you some of their edgier stuff. I can’t get into songs like 1979. It’s just too mellow. I need their energy.
