AnnenMayKantereit started as street musicians and they are from cologne/germany. Henning's voive is so distinctive.He sounds like a 50 year old who loves to smoke and drink whiskey.

But like in a good way, I love voices like that because they are the easiest and most fun for me to replicate as a vocalist, my natural singing voice is somewhere between a bass and a low baritone classification, I can still get up there in my high register but I lean towards having that sort of healthy vocal rasp that Henning has. I don't naturally sound like he does of course, but its so much more natural and fun for my specific voice to sing that way, and of course when you do it it blows people out of the water.

Der Mann, nach dem du gefragt hast, taucht gleich am Anfang links von der beiden Sängern auf, gehört zu AnnenMayKantereit und spielt diese Teile,von denen ich die Bezeichnung nicht kenne. Im zweiten Raum mit Giants Rooks kommt das Instrument einfach nicht mehr vor, weshalb er dann nichts mehr zu spielen hat.

Right and since u don't need 2 drumers just let him do his fancy hip moves. Okay he could have brought his hand instrument with him (no musician here, I don't know what it's called) even if he doesn't do much with it. But it would have seemed like, yeah, the boy who can't do anything just gets the triangle and jingles a little in the hope that it doesn't bother too much.

The 2nd guy is Henning May, the first room his band. The second room the band Giant Rooks with lead singer (first guy). Great ❤ at all. Try also the cover of the Police-song „Roxanne“: AnnenMayKantereit together with Milky Chance… ‼️🏆

People wig out about Henning May's voice, and yeah, he's incredible to listen to. But Frederick Rabe is an excellent talent, too. The way they compliment each other makes me wish they would just form one band.

Please check out more by them - annenmaykantereit is such an amazing band and the have plenty of good songs! Both covers and original pieces ~ a lot of it is in german but there are some pretty good translations out there. Also the homie in white as far as I know does percussion/drums - you can see him in the first room with a shaker (idk if that is the correct term)

The song is a cover of Suzanne Vega's Tom's Diner (1987). This is a collaboration of two German bands: In the first room AnnenMayKantereit are playing and Henning May (deep raspy voice) is their singer. And in the second room Giant Rooks are playing, Frederik Rabe is their singer. A little later AnnenMayKantereit join them. The guys of AnnenMayKantereit are the older ones.. AMK does mostly German songs, Henning can also sing without that rasp, his voice is amazing, but I like Frederiks voice even more. Giant Rooks do English songs, even though they are Germans as well. One reason why I love Frederiks voice is their cover of Life On Mars (David Bowie): kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ2seGp3mthqeq8. As you know now, the dude with the hat is the drummer of AMK, look at him in the first room. This is a question in so many reactions, I don't understand that. All musicians of AMK from the first room joined the second room and doing nothing, but singing. 😮😊

The other lead singer is Frederik Rabe of Giant Rooks which is also a German indie band. Henning has a voice which reminds me of Joe Cocker. Gargling razor blades about sums up the vocals of the two of them. As far as I'm aware the two bands have only collaborated on this song which they did about 4-5 years ago! Shame. BTW AnnenMayKantereit is just an amalgamation of the bands surnames.
