The Stones had tons of hit songs, this is a very deep rabbit hole. Glad to see younger generations take an interest in music from the 60's thru the 80's the best music and musician's

This was a track off their hugely successful double album, 1972's "Exile on Main Street." I can't recall if this was released as a simultaneous single. It may well have been.

They had so many great albums that are just excellent front to back - from beggars banquet through some girls is just perfection.

This is from the album Exile On Main Street released by the Rolling Stones in 1972, at their creative peak. It's the only double album they ever did. Are double albums even a thing any more? Back then they couldn't fit 18 songs onto one record. The album its self did really well in the charts, but it had no hit singles. They made a lot of cool music after this, but this was their last truly great album. It has an eclectic mix of influences and styles. Some of the songs take repeat listens to appreciate over time. Enjoy!

If the Beatles were about turning America on to British music. The Stones were about really resurrecting American musical styles that had all but missed the recording studio and were being overlooked at the time, and reintroducing it to America. Being English, educated, and artistically gifted, and doing that puts the Stones in a unique category, that until the 90s, when several bands and a ton of indie music adapted their style, was all theirs.

Original title was good time women 1971,tumblin dice 1972 off exile on main street, recorded in the south of france coast in some manison basement where nazi hung out during world war 2,it only got to number 7 on the charts..i think rhe main single release of exile album was maybe all down the line, this album was just a mixture of everything the stones are, blues, country, some gospel,in your face rock n roll..
