Awwww thank you for picking X!!🙏✨ Please watch the rock ones too, I recommend "Kurenai" from the the last live at Tokyo Dome!🥹 X has a good contrast of hard rock tunes and beautiful ballards. And their live performance and the crowds are amazing, it's really interesting to watch!! ありがとう❤

Wow, B'z, X Japan!? They are some of my favorite bands!! Please also react to the bands Glay (songs: Yuuwaku, However, Survival) and L'Arc~en~Ciel, Hyde's band (songs: Honey, Flower, Niji). Oh yes, also react to the song Kurenai by X Japan!! So perhaps the band's appearance matches the sound they produce. lol

How big were they? They sold-out the Tokyo Dome 18 times, capacity 55,000. They were also the first Japanese band to perform at Lallapalooza in the US. Gene Simmons, Kiss, said they would have been one of the biggest band the world. If they had been a western band, AKA sang in English. You should react to "Kurenai" from the last live concert.

So nostalgic! I love this band, they are legends. They started in the early 80s. Created the Japanese visual kei genre, inspiring a lot of bands and artists ever since. They have such a history on the Japanese music scene. Toshi has such a unique voice, you can always tell it’s him, just like you can tell a song is an X Japan song. Yoshiki, the pianist and drummer, is still one of the biggest names in the Japanese music scene. They stopped back in 1997, and after that, we sadly lost guitarist Hide to suicide. Extremely heartbreaking. And then, they reunited again in 2007, so there are some newer songs as well. But since you loved this song, Luke, I’m sure you’ll love the rest of their songs too! I recommend checking out “Tears”, it’s my favorite, with such beautiful lyrics. ❤️ They later added a verse there in memory of Hide and it’s so freaking sad.
@outwest101422 сағат бұрын
The band doesn't believe Hide killed himself. They believe it was an accident. He had, using a towel, bound up his shoulder to relieve the pain. But he passed out causing strangulation.

Great reaction. :) They were inspired by hair metal, but they also have heavier songs, they are metal band after all. :D Try "Kurenai" from The Last Live live performance from 1997. ;) The Last Live is legendary show, it was their last live performance before they disbanded. X Japan formed in 1984 and changed a lot japanese music, they were very famous and their disbandmend changed everything again... And not long after that, only few months later, their guitarist died what was also big shock for fans, I don't want to use here that word that starts with "s", but... For years there were released some their live performances or special editions of albums, I think mostly their drummer and pianist was doing it, and they came back in 2007. Unfortunately now are on hiatus since their bassist died in 2023...

I LOOOOOVE THIS SONG! It makes my heart feel so calm! Also, this song was performed by a group of Japanese female artists on Kohaku (Japanese special tv show to celebrate the end of the year) and Baby Metal was there, seeing Su singing Endless Rain felt like a dream came true. X-Japan was part of the Japanese bands that were trying to adapt the glam rock/metal scene to Japan, hence the crazy hairstyles, that eventually evolved until it became what we know as Visual Key

You described how I felt the first time I ever heard X Japan. I didn't grow up on the at all but the first time I ever listened to them I felt nostalgic and even melancholy for an era I was never even apart of it feels very familiar. I think also because you can definitely hear western influences too. But it really feels as if you're WITH THEM when you listen to their music ...if that makes any sense.

Nice one, but we must have told you about X Japan and how influential they are on so many Japanese bands. 'Endless Rain' sounds like a song you know or have heard before? How about a song you have heard (BABYMETAL's 'No Rain, No Rainbow') sounds like 'Endless Rain'? It is an homage right down to the guitar arrangements for that which were written by Kami Band guitarist Leda Cygnus. The neck brace BABYMETAL use so much ('Headbanger' video, many live performances) is an homage to Yoshiki - he is the pianist, drummer and main composer and it was him who needed surgery and a neck brace after damaging his neck headbanging. X Japan's most famous live performances (I am no expert so there may well be loads more I don't know about) seem to be from the Last Live - the end of December 1997 at the Tokyo Dome just before they were about to split up. 'Kurenai' (which also influenced BABYMETAL's 'Akatsuki') and 'Endless Rain' are both on YT.

The most X JAPAN-like songs are KURENAI or X. Why Endless Rain?
@sauronlucilfer392323 сағат бұрын
Endless Rain is there too, actually is the more popular one right now, Yoshiki played Endless Rain in so many moments in his career that it has actually become his signature song.
@Widmouno23 сағат бұрын
@@sauronlucilfer3923 I think what they mean is that Endless Rain doesn't necessarily convey what the X Japan vibe is about? They've had slower ballads like this, of course - genius at that, but it's different to what most people - especially in the west, associate them with.
