Malmsteen starting making demos in the late 70s when he was 16 which made it to america and he got signed by Shrapnel Records and he played w a band called Steeler in 83, then in 84 he played with a band named Alcatrazz which I really recommend you listen to because their music is really good and is what got me into Malmsteen and also listen to Steeler’s album which is good, but since he departed from Alcatrazz he’s been going solo he was also with a band called Rising Force but i’m sure after that he’s went solo

I think first time Yngwie actually realized himself was seeing a picture of himself in a newspaper where the story was about a festival he played in with a band that he just happened to be in, which was playing that festival! Not sure if he really knew how damn fucking good he was at the beginning! But he found out 😂😂😂
