This song reminds me of the metaphor, "Cold Feet". He wants to commit to her, but he knows that he's not ready to be tied down. So "Colder Weather" reminds me of Cold feet & or not quite the right WEATHER/TIME for commitment. Although, he may very well regret having Cold feet down the road. The special woman could move on to someone more committed & secure with her, & leave him in much Colder Weather. I love the lyrics, When I close my eyes, I see you, no matter where I am. I can smell your perfume through these western pines. EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL LYRICS

Just slightly, but I love that it's about how hard it is to co-parent after a divorce and how much he loves his son. Ugh! I feel that. Hits closer to home I suppose. But for real, HIGHWAY 20 RIDE!!! I saw them in concert at Green Bay, Wi. The building held around 10,000 people and it was packed. It was below zero weather but that didn't stop the fans. ZBB didn't disappoint! I'd love to see them in concert again. Thank you for the reaction. 👍💟

Thank you for reacting to the Zac Brown version of this song. I hadn't heard it but was aware they were the original performers. The first time I actually heard this song when it was covered by Home Free on The Sing-Off. Then they actually recorded the song with all the current members and I love that Rob takes the lead initially. They all have fabulous voices and I love them all. I think you would really love their version as well. Also check out the video from the show. It's one that helped put them on the map! Home Fry for life lol

Highway 20 is a good one. I think he recorded it not long after his marriage ended. Listen to it and you will understand the significance. I was raised listening to country music. I'm a rocker now, but country music is in my soul. There is nothing else like it. Garth Brooks' "The Dance" is really good. You can only see videos with lyrics on KZbin for all Garth Brooks' songs. He pulled them all. I think you have to buy the original videos on ITunes. The Man in Black and Ira Hays by Johnny Cash are really great songs with a lot of meaning. With apologies to David Allan Coe and his "perfect country song" You Never Even Called Me by My Name, Colder Weather comes as close as I have ever heard to being the perfect song. The harmony is brilliant, the instrumentals are haunting, the lyrics are unforgettable, the tune itself is awesome and the video is perfect. This is a great song, and I wouldn't change a thing. If you want to hear some piano playing you should react to Last Date by Floyd Cramer. I think Cramer is indisputably the best piano player in country music and he played on many albums for other people but then he put out an instrumental song called Last Date and it was a HUGE hit.
