It is very dangerous travelling to highlands during monsoon season due to landslide and just few weeks ago 1 casualty caused by the landslide near Simpang Pulai - Cameron Highlands pass. I am not sure about the mossy forest being the oldest but the one of the oldest rain forest in the world (over 130 million years old) is located at Taman Negara Pahang, which is older than the Amazon and the second oldest in the world behind Daintree rain forest in Australia. From KL it takes 3-4 hour bus journey to Jerantut and Kuala Tembeling Jetty followed by a 2.5 hour river boat ride to Kuala Tahan. Also Rafflesia never cut down by the government since its gazetted as one of the protected plant species. The only problem now is that its rarely bloom so the season is now unpredictable as it used to be. You could book in advance through Eco Cameron and being called upon the chances of its blooming though, but the chances are slim. Better plan for a trip to Borneo, maybe to Kinabalu National Park in Sabah where the chances to see them bloom might be higher.

Yes mossy forest is one of the oldest forest in da world and the oldest in Malaysia.. Taman negara pahang and mossy forest both in the same titiwangsa ranges(banjaran). And they are very near..

@@MontAndreu yes, next year after April it might be a good time. Monsoon season hits hard ni the East Coast (Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan) and it is reported that heavy rain will continue to occur occasionally until March 2022. Some town in near Taman Negara is already flooding now 🙏🏼

Qué bueno verlos 😃 Supongo que el té de ahí debe tener un sabor especial a diferencia del que se puede comprar en España?, lo pregunto por la enorme cola como si fuera a desaparecer 🇺🇾😘👌
@MontAndreu2 жыл бұрын
