21:20 The Pantheon has a brilliant design. The current structure was completed in about 128 AD and is still in daily use. 34:32 is the Mausoleum of Hadrian, or Castel Sant'Angelo; originally a mausoleum for Hadrian and his family, it later became a fortress used by the Pope. Judging by the area of Rome you are moving around in you may have gone past the Largo di Torre Argentina, which includes the spot where Julius Caesar was assassinated. Within the Forum itself is the place where Caesar was later cremated, this is also often visited by large crowds (paid entrance to the Forum and the Colosseum etc).

Such a beautiful City to walk but the underground railway is brilliant for tired legs and is super quick and easy to use too. Be brave and eat away from tourist spots down local streets, the food is better priced and tastes amazing as they need to feed locals who will return rather than passing tourists
@Z_TPI2 жыл бұрын
I walked the same streets as you bro. The amount of history and beautiful architecture there is to die for. There's an amazing pizza place that I always hit up for breakfast every morning called Antico Forno Serpenti. If you're ever by the Colosseum look it up it's only a few minutes walk away. And if you want a nice carbonara hit up Chicco Di Granno which is in the same area as well. If you're planning a beach day or looking to hit up a beach it's a 2 hour drive from Rome and it's called Sperlonga, you could also take the train there and it cost about 7 euros roughly. Hope you enjoy every minute of your trip, Italy has so much to offer! I highly suggest investing in a transit pass it'll save you guys tons of money over Uber lol the subway and buses take you to all the hot spots and there's little wait time they're always coming and going every few minutes, up to you obviously though lol Happy travels from your Italian Canadian brother! 🇮🇹🇨🇦

One of my favourite cities to visit (Venice and Barcelona are others) and we’ve had some wonderful long weekend stays. Thank you for taking us a long. Hello, Jamal!! Thanks for bringing us along on your family trip. The breakfast you ate was a variation of a "Full English," a traditional breakfast in the UK. Native Italians usually eat sparingly in the morning, always a "ristretto," a shot of espresso, a macchiato or cappuccino which is sometimes followed by a brioche or pastry. Although Italians are fond of ignoring rules, they are always mindful of the ones regarding eating and drinking. For a culture that is often "laid back," native Italians can be quite rigid about food and drink. You may have encountered this on your travels throughout Italy. Or perhaps not, since many restaurants now offer menus geared to North American tastes. Although such establishments are often easy to find, be aware they are not authentically Italian and can also be quite costly.

The Trevi fountain is beautiful to see! You all were lucky to see it early as you did, we visited it when it was crowded but we had that opportunity to see it in person finally! That's a lot of euro for breakfast. we didn't find anything like that near where we stayed although your breakfast dish resembled an English breakfast, similar ingredients not exactly from what I was able to see in your video. The Spanish steps are something we can't believe we walked that many steps in Rome, it was worth every moment and step we took! Oh I am so glad you go to see the Panthoen too! So glad you panned upward with your camera at the ceiling! You enjoyed some homemade pasta there for lunch based on how different they are as you mentioned. At marker 34:33 THAT Jamel is the Castel Sant'Angelo it is originally is famous for being the tomb of Emperor Hadrian. but this was also featured in the movie Angels & Demons starring Tom Hanks. It does get crowded in there! Enjoyed this video! Thank you! ☮💕

Thanks for taking the time to post all these videos with your family. I was just there end of May 2024. Rome,the Vatican, Florence, Pisa are amazing. So much history it’s overwhelming to realize what your actually looking at sometimes. The Pantheon dome is still the largest unreinforced concrete structure in the world even after almost 2000 yrs. A perfect sphere of 43.2 meters in diameter could fit inside. They don’t really know how it was built. Your father in law doesn’t smile much, except for Jelato 😀. Thanks for sharing.

Was great to go back there with you.. having been there my self it was Truely a breathtaking place full of history and amazing art sculptures and rich in amazing foods and sounds. The people working and living there were all very friendly with us there. The fountain at the time was being worked on and was mostly covered for a restoration. this is still my favourite place I’ve ever been to. I should have had you zoom in on a spot there you past had key locks all over. Ours is there somewhere. Triton fountain is a pretty spot. Gorgeous fountain as-well. I was surprised by their little trucks they use around the city. But makes sense the tight streets narrow walkways. Anything Nutella there was good to. And all the pastries. Of course their pizzas to were real pizzas. Made with real full ingredients.

Oh. Other thing. For Italians food is taken very seriously. As you have noticed they eat a lot and carbohydrates but are not overweight. You will find that the "Italian" food we eat in our places are not really italian. Those dishes dont exist and are not known in Italy.
