So I decided to try interlockiing my hair for the first time after two years

First I have had my freeformlocs for two years now. I started with two strand twists and now that my hair is almost medium legnth, I am trying something new.
Honestly, I feel so attached to my hair in it's freeform state, it was hard for me to let go and visit the saloon for interlocking.

Your locs look great! It’s a 10 for me. She is right about the conditioner. I have used conditioner from day one. I am almost 4 years loc’d. I take my time and rinse it out thoroughly. No buildup! She was definitely wrong to make negative comments about your hair. That was very unprofessional. Overall, she did a good job. Your head, your hair, your locs. Do what works for you, tfs.

I think it looks really nice. Not cool when hairdressers/locations trash talk your hair though. Not on. I once had hairdressers laughing out loud at the size of my small head in a packed salon. They likened it to a cushoo seed 😬.....I was soooooo embarrassed. Needless to say I never went back there again.

My dear 🥰, I'm a Ghanaian and I will rather suggest that next time,u visit a salon in Ghana,make sure u go to a dreadlocks, Rastafarian,locs salon..we have many around and they will treat you like their own and also respect your crown. If u go to a normal salon, they're very rude and even don't understand our loc journey at all and they keep judging us My dear your locs are gorgeous and I love love it❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️👌👌👌

Straight hair - which is mostly on non-black people was forced on us as the ideal best/ clean way to look. After over 50 years since colonialism ended in Africa, our own Black people have become racist towards our culture, roots, and original selves. Schools in Ghana and Nigeria abhor dreadlocks but embrace straight hair. Police in Africa suspects dreadlocked individuals more of criminal intent or activity. Our entire continent is still living in slavery that's why we have no identity anymore and suffering from horrible leadership everywhere. Slavery is still in Africa - Slavery of the mind.

I’m sorry you had such a negative experience with your first loctitian. I have never gone to a loctitian because I am loving taking care of my locs myself. I have microlocs and I am semi free forming. I separate my locs probably every day and wrap or braid any loose hair around the loc. I think your loctitian did a good job. Your locs are beautiful and you will have manicured locs so it will be easier to get the new job. Good luck with that! If you go back to your routine, you’ll still be able to freeform or semi freeform.

Asa imaka biko. I love the locs. I started my locs using crochet(instant locs) my igbo mom wasnt pleased but i didnt care. I interloc my own hair every 4weeks cus i dont like when it marry and having to rip it apart. Plus i only do the two point so 4weeks works for me.
