We would always put in at Roger's Park, then paddle upstream towards Weeki Wachi. Smooth coasting all the way back! I've been going there all my life, 40+ years now. Not much has changed over the decades, except there are more people now; and more people = more litter! We always collect what we can while there. Good rule when visiting the Weeki Wachi River, is to make sure whatever you take in, you take out! It's an awesome place. Wish I could buy some land on the river. I'd be in Heaven waking up to that gorgeous water everyday! Nice video. Thanks fot sharing.

Hi there. Wow that's great you've been going for so long. On this day we were not able to paddle against the current. It's something that worried me and why I thought I could not put in at Roger's Park. I couldn't even swim against it. I was stuck in place when I tried. I guess some days there is a stronger flow than others. I can't stand pollution. I kayak with a bag and put trash in it if I am able to get to it. Then I toss it. So some days I come out with more than I came in.

Thank you. We haven't kayaked in a long time. We miss it and hope life will not be so busy so we can do it again.

I absolutely loved this video! Several years ago, I was very near that very location. By then, we were running short on time and had to cut everything down to bare essentials. I seen "Weeki Wachee Gardens" and without further thought, figured I didn't want to waste my remaining time looking at flowers. If I would have known, I would have probably spent my remaining time right there, hoping to get a glimpse of a manatee! I might have even jumped in and snorkeled with them, if it were allowed. Thank you for posting this wonderful video and showing me what I missed.

Hernezto Vanyard That's what's so nice about this river. So rare to have clear blue water like a swimming pool. This trip was very lovely and relaxing. Yes all the art and paintings on the houses were lovely. Thanks.

Wonderful video...I can't wait to get out there on the beautiful Weeki Wachee river!

Thanks. Yes if you can go definitely do this. It's lovely. The current is strong though so if you're a beginner you can't come back up. It's a one way ride to the pick up point.

Yeah, that boat seemed a bit large, at a rapid speed. Nice work. I refer to our generation as the " FLIPPER " generation. As I am on the cusp @ 1965.. Great video.

Hi sorry for the late replay. KZbin has been giving me issues with the comments. I just posted about that. Ha, flipper. I just found a video and wrote out a chart showing the generations from 1900 to 2025 I think it was. I'm from Generation X. An 80s child.

Breath taking video, incredible narration which really captivates the attention of the person watching. I watched over and over and I plan on going out there soon. I'm a beginner kayaker as well. So is this predominantly saltwater or a combination? Any gators in site? Hopefully not :)
@ScaryFear8 жыл бұрын
+Zex Manny Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope you can get ou there soon. It's brackish water so a mix of both. There are saltwater fish all the way to the source. Current is strong though going back would be hard if you're not athletic. But there is a pick up station. You see it at the end of my video. There are gators but they are rare. They do not like clear water. I never saw one there but pretty much any body of water in Florida has gators.

If you haven't been there, you should do the Rainbow river in Dunnellon as well. KP Hole county park is an awesome facility. They have a kayak launch and can shuttle you back up river. Nice video👍

It is beautiful there I went a few weeks ago can't wait to go back. How does the boost perform? Does it track well? looking to buy one and trying to find out more info since there's not much out there. I seen your other videos about the kayaks. Thank you great video.

+Matt T It's lovely. I hope you did have a chance to go. The boost tracks very well. Better than my stinger. Thank you. I'm glad you've liked my videos.

I am an avid paddler, my YOLO, on the Gulf over here in Pensacola, Destin area. It's great, although I need a change a new view...love it down in Levy, Citrus, and Hernando Counties.

Oh that's great. We like to paddle from the Tarpon Springs area and Tampa Bay. We haven't kayaked in a while though. Hope to get back to it, but have been beach combing for shells lately.

Nice vid but are there gators in the springs ?
@ScaryFear5 жыл бұрын
Yes there are. All fresh water in Florida has gators. You don't see many here though because they prefer darker water.

Great video. I'm going there next week. Did you kayak all day? We plan do manatees tour in am then head to the river for kayaking from noon till 5pm. Would it be enough or do full day? Did you see any manatees there?
@ScaryFear4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. It was pretty much an all day thing. We didn't see any on our trip but they are there. You just have to get lucky.

Are there ever any alligators. I would be concerned I think!
@ScaryFear5 жыл бұрын
There are alligators in every body of Fresh water in the state. Though this river has few. I saw none when I was there. We prefer salt water for that reason.
@SleestaksRule9 жыл бұрын
Well that was really cool. I understand about not having those creepy things called "people" on the next trip.
@ScaryFear9 жыл бұрын
***** Yes the parts when we were alone and quiet were the best. We'd get annoyed when we found other people especially if they were being loud and stupid as a lot of the swimmers were. I think going very early in the morning will be the key to having the river all to ourselves.
