PLEASE REACT TO MORE DPR IAN!! He’s my fav artist of all time. All his songs/videos have to do with his mental health issues and typically all take place inside his head. He easily has a no skips discography. Can’t go wrong with any of his songs. I can’t wait to see him when he comes to Boston in September! 🩷🩷

Ahhh DPR Ian! I can’t wait to see where he takes us this time. So… DPR Ian/Christian Yu is a fascinating creature from Australia. Someone will likely fill you in on the details, because it’s a lot! A very brief overview: He is bipolar, and has DID, and openly deals with his mental illness through music; each avatar is a piece of him. That being said, there is lore with his MVs, and they are all connected. My personal favorites are b-sides like, Mood, Bad Cold, Ballroom Extravaganza, and Violet Crazy. I recommend Peanut Butter and Tears, Don’t Go Insane, So I Danced, Limbo, and No Blueberries. And check out the other DPR gang; Artic is the newest addition. Since you like EDM, check out Do Or Die; I’m obsessed with that song. Enjoy!

As a fellow Aussie who deals with her own mental health issues, DPR IAN/Christian is such an idol and role model for me. So talented and under-appreciated ❤😊

DPR IAN in my opinion is a certified genius. This man sings, dances, writes, edits, and directs his own stuff while dealing with his many Mental Health issues. I heard you say "PLAGERISM" , whether in seriousness or in gest. Just know I am hearing that word thrown around a lot lately in KPOP , especially in the news. I don't take it lightely, but I do believe you can watch things and get inspired by them but not "COPY" them. But I know of lot of stuff in his whats going on in his videos is going on in his head, especially knowing he often wakes up from his episodes not remembering what he just did on camera. Just my two cents anyway.

This was pretty dope. I don’t really know a lot of their music but I saw DPR Ian/DPR Live at HITC in NY last year and learned DPR Ian is part of a creative collective with Live, Cream, and Rem. They have their own label Dream Perfect Regime, all of whom attach the label's acronym DPR in front of their names. DPR creates, directs, produces, and edits multimedia projects for its talent. DPR Ian is the chief director and editor of the collective. Diamonds + and Pearls and No Blueberries ft. DPR Live & CL are a couple other cool songs I liked personally.

Ian is a creative genius whose artistry is deeply influenced by his experiences with bipolar disorder and dissociative identity disorder (DID). The storyline of his music videos is intricately connected, creating a unique universe called "the other side", which is depicted in this MV. Several key characters appear in his music videos, including: Ian Technically it's Ian himself. The og or the "host" (kinda like the default persona). He is the who is depicted as being abducted in Mito movie. Mito Ian's alter, often depicted as the villain while his actual role is "the protector", Mito is characterized by a single eye and is often dressed in black, appearing in black and white scenes. He represents Ian's low and depressive episodes. Mr. Insanity Another alter, frequently seen in colorful and sparkly clothing with a clown-like demeanor, as in the video for "Seraph" & "So I Danced" and the one with bedazzled face in "Saint". Mr. insanity embodies Ian's manic high episodes. The Hybrid A character yet to be revealed, but said to be the most formidable, representing the worst qualities of Ian's other alters. Ian directs and edits all of his music videos. The inverted "DPR +Ian" supers mark indicates his dual role as both director and actor. He is currently getting recognized by broader audience, such a gem! His music videos have they're own cinematic universe, such a visual journey.

According to him, in one of his interview, MITO has a different range with vocals than Ian does. Interesting how DID can manifest physically.

He self produces/writes/composes all his songs. He also does his music videos 🔥 He has a storyline! I highly recommend going in order of his MVs.

So happy you checked out my favorite guy IAN! He's one of the most brilliant, complex, and dynamic individuals and artists I've ever come across in my life. You definitely won't regret diving into IAN's discography, and I hope you also dive into his interviews and recorded past livestreams on KZbin. He goes in depth about his struggles with DID and Bipolar, his inspiration for his music and visual concepts, explains his other "personality's (aka MITO, Mr. INSANITY, HYBRID)", what they look like, and where you can actually see them in the music videos. He's just an all-around musical genius and an exceptionally kind, funny, down to earth, humble human being. I'm so blessed I'm going to see him live in Atlanta in September 🥰. I hope everyone goes out and buys tickets to see him because this man truly deserves more recognition!

So just a little background on DPR Ian. His real name is Christian Yu. He is a Korean Austrian artist. He does everything himself. And I mean everything. He writes directs produces he acts in his own mvs. Like he does it all. He is the co founder for DPR his company. And alot of good artists are in the company. Christian has bipolar 1 and DID. meaning he has multiple personalities in him. They very very often show up in his music and his mvs. His music is very well about what he deals with and what he goes through. And I also think he puts that visually very well also in his mvs. Although what he shows us in his songs and mvs is what he goes through on a daily basis. He has created a fictional story that involves all personalities. The personalities names are Mito You say it like mite o. He represents Christians lows and also often Christian’s protector. He comes out when he feels or when Christian feels threatened in anyway. The next personality is Mr insanity. You got a small glimpse of him in this video. He was the one that was sparkly and kind of looked like an elf. Atleast that what he looked like to me in this video. If you watch it back you will see two beings in the sky. I believe one was black and one white. I believe that is Mito and Mr insanity. The next personality is the hybrid. We don’t know much about the hybrid. We do know that the hybrid has blue eyes. So at the beginning of this mv I think we get a glimpse of him. Just my theory. His mvs do have an order. Some like when you go backwards starting from this mv and then back from the mv that released before this one. But for me a some other fans I think it’s best to start by mvs from release date. So the first will be so beautiful then the next will be no blueberries. Others will help with the order but those two are the ones to start with. I hope you continue with him he’s so fascinating :)

He's actually on tour atm with 2 others from the DPR team (DPR Cream and DPR Artic). DPR stands for "Dream Perfect Regime" which is a label created by DPR Ian, DPR Live and DPR Cream. Ian (you were right - EE-an) kinda defies genres but I believe on Spotify etc he is listed as 'RnB'. This is his first fully EDM track, probably the first of a few as each of his albums follow a theme. DPR Cream and Artic are much more EDM based, and DPR Ian and DPR Cream recently released "Do or Die" which is an epic club banger, there's a video of that if you are interested although it doesn't have a story to it like his solo videos do. Their joint tour will have a lot of EDM if you like that, although unfortunately the setlist doesn't appear to include Saint. Saint is kind of the bridge into his next album so it makes sense that he keeps it for a future tour I guess. He is pretty big on the "show" side of things - he has indeed worn wings in some of his live performances. He's all about the visuals - he produces/edits his own videos and all of them follow a lore based upon his own life and his DID alters. It's a massive story that spans all of his albums, and when it's finally done he's said he wants to release an actual film that will fully explain everything. Basically, when it comes to video budgets a lot of it rests on how much time he has to dedicate to it because he's the one adding effects frame by frame (he hides easter eggs in that shit too...) You should check out some of his other videos, they are bloody masterpieces. I highly recommend "Limbo" as an example.
