As far as the song and images. This is early Lana. Before the big time budgets. The lyrics are about a previous boyfriend who constantly played world of warcraft. Shes singing about getting ready for him and loving him. Yet, he prefers the world of his game. Rather than building a world for them. She wanted to be out living life. The images in the video reference some things she wanted in life. Glamor, drinking, skating, riding motorcycles. Basically the images are showing real life and how she wanted that more than a simulation roleplaying life via a video game. She would put on perfume and a sundress for a guy and then sit with him watching him play video games instead of him taking her on a date.

I like the juxtaposition between the beginning and the end. At first her plea that I'd do anything is full of hope and passion. = DTF. Then she switches to a more pleading why are you ignoring me, am I not good enough. = WTF. Same words, but the oh so subtle tone shift hits different.

Finally, an unpopular opinion I agree with! Lana already had so many great songs during this era, I could not understand the hype around Video Games, when there was Million Dollar Man and Radio. If you would like a suggestion for a banger, move on to West Coast, Cruel World, Money Power Glory, and Flip Side from Ultraviolence. Flip Side is a bonus track on a Japan print.
