The song is a homage to their music roots which is Hip Hop artists so they make reference to Biggie Smalls, 50 Cent, and also Rihanna (one by one and two by two). It's also to help get them further into the Western public. There are 4 members. Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo. They speak multiple languages (Korean, English, Japanese, etc.).

From the business side...the avg kpop fan spends $800/yr in tickets and merch...blackpink has over 80 million subs on youtube. i appreciate the honesty! kpop is something to get used to. but if you want more rap heavy songs i would suggest stray kids. they write and produce their own songs and beats. my favorite ones that you would probably enjoy would be Easy, Gods Menu, Freeze, Maniac, Venom, Thunderous and Domino (domino has no music video but you can watch the dance practice or find a video that shows the lyrics)

Being a multi kpop stan I watched this mv and it was good but it was cultural appropriation. I feel like the groups that actually should get recommendations is Stray kids, Ateez, Exo, Monsta X, ect. These groups that I just named always get over looked by black pink and bts. Well Exo their pretty famous almost like bts tho I just wish they can get more recommended from their hard works. Stray kids was absolutely getting over looked because first they write their own music and do chorography and produce music. They getting popular aswell, Ateez and Monsta X needs to get recommendations cause they also have to sit down and write their own music and music always be different. Ateez is very big on chorography aswell. My meaning is from this whole paragraph is that I heard from a blink that black pink don't write their own music because of the company which I've seen the company do treat them badly but whoever wrote this song knew what they were doing. Yes I like bts but am I a hard Stan? No, I'm not one of those crazy fans. Like Rm tho if he mentions a lyrics from a whole another music video from a black creator he would literally mention their name after the verse with where the lyric are from. As an Example RM joke. Like when we mention someone in our songs he have a whole reference or put their name. But blackpink didn't do that cause if your going to say someone verse at least put a reference of them in your song. Another thing if the sound of the music sounds so familiar then it's basically that they combined 3 types of beats from 3 different videos from a BLACK creator. It was proven on tik tok by that guy who be showing old version of a song and a new version of a song that they create. I'm not saying that blackpink don't got talent. I've seen their work and I am proud of it but I want the company to let them actually get the hang of hardship like produce, write, chorography. What I really wanna say that it's really time for our people to stand up and stop sitting on their ass I really wanna see chorography in songs again because in Kpop their serious it's just we don't get told what to eat an how to do our hair we got all the freedom in the world but in South Korea being a kpop idols is like getting signed up to be a doll. That people have to tell you when to eat and when to sleep and when it's time for work. I have seen some progress tho and I hope it gets better throughout some years.
