You've pronounced that correctly the first time 😊 She is the OG queen of kpop. I never thought about that contrast between the choreography style and the softness of the song, I guess it works for me. She is known for her dancing skills so they probably wanted to showcase that here as well, plus her voice is generally very soft. If you want to see more (and not conflicting songs) I recommend Camo, Woman, Forgive me.

If I’m not wrong, she is the first female soloist for kpop but could be wrong. First artist that SM signed and made SM. She made SM so much money that they got a whole building for the company because the money they made. One of the GOATS and started I think in 01. Also considered as one of the best females dancers and vocalist in all kpop

This type of choreo to this type of track is lyrical hip hop choreo, popularized by Nappytabs in the late 2000s through their choreo for the show "So You Think You Can Dance." Most famous example of it is probably the choreo to Bleeding Love (you can look this up with something like "sytycd bleeding love". BoA wrote this song specifically because she wanted to explore lyrical hip hop choreo, and Nappytabs are also the choreographers for this song thanks to the relationship she built with them when they worked on the Hollywood dance movie "Make Your Move" that BoA starred in. Totally understand why you might find it disorienting, but it is very much an intentional choice :)
