The VCR played in the concert, linking a group performance to Kai's Deep Breath then Overdose. EXO use VCRs to keep the concert going while they make costume changes and have a quick breather. Their concerts are long. There is a live of Cloud 9 where they are wearing pink silk shirts that is my go-to when I need to smile, it's the song but also the choreo which just makes me grin. Another with poor Kai having to sit with his injured foot - that's the reason you see him sitting when the others have gone to dance. He must have felt so frustrated to be with his fans but unable to dance for them.

If you haven't yet, you should see EXO's "Heart Attack" VCR from one of their Chinese concerts, kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5rOhmSBmtCrl9k. As you just saw, for concert performances of "Heart Attack" they created a behind the scenes, one-take video where the members take you backstage as they perform "Heart Attack." And the cool part is, they filmed a new video for every concert venue. In the Chinese version, not only are the members parts different because the EXO-M members are singing more of the song, but the video is different because the Korean version was filmed at a different concert than the Chinese version. So you get to see a behind the scenes look at what it is like backstage at each concert. As you can see, this was a VCR (a video) that they play during the concert to transition between the sets and to give the members time to change their clothes and get ready for the next set. (This concert was held in late 2014 -- because Kris and Luhan are not in this concert (but they were part of the EXO-M version of the song) -- or early 2015, before Tao left the group.) Because this is a concert performance, all the members of EXO are involved in the song, regardless of whether they are EXO-K or EXO-M. The part where you see Tao -- who is the youngest member of EXO-M -- in the beginning is live, but the minute he steps backstage they transition to the video, and then when you see the members reenter the stage at the end, this is where the members come back out on stage to start the next set of the concert. It's supposed to give you the feeling that this is all happening live, like you are following them around backstage -- Tao hangs a backstage pass around our necks, which allows us to enter behind the scenes. But, in reality, the members are all just changing their clothes and warming up for the next set of the concert while the audience watches this video on the big screen as they wait for EXO to come back on stage.
