Otyken, I think it's mean Scary Place, but I think I could be absolutely wrong. Song Storm, if you go anywhere make sure you have best friend with you. If you don't you might die, because best friends are important in our life. If you die mother earth will eat you, and that is natural. This is my understanding of this song, and I do love Otyken. You should hear their song Lost Parodies (Vase Zeme, Nase Nebe). Hope this helps =)

Just a small correction, not really "Scary" but a "Sacred" place :) Otyken was a capital city of the Turkic Khaganate in the 1st millenium A.D., also it's a kind of a "holy place" like Jerusalem or Shambala.

I'm from Russia..And so that you understand, we have a multinational country. Northern peoples live in the north - Chukchi, Buryats, Yakuts, Tuvinians and so on. They have a very interesting culture . They are excellent hunters and get into the eye of a squirrel from a long distance . And they are all citizens of Russia. All nationalities are respected in our country.

Look up there web site. There is at least 5 years of "development" of the band involved in linked videos under their youtube channel that parallels the web site description. It is well worth the time. Very interesting band.

That musical instrument is called a mouth kopuz in Turkish and I can understand some of the words they use. Because our culture is the same with Siberians. We are all Turkic . Thats awesome

The funny thing is that no one can repeat the type of cover for this song. This is a group from a Siberian village with a population of barely 200 people. Independent team. On their website, they sell their village honey and various souvenirs of national crafts. Absolute nugget without managers, producers and other parasites. But without them, this world cannot survive. In general, Russian culture, music, literature, films - this is another universe - an unexplored cultural layer. This video is just fluff.

The small mouth piece is called a khomuz. They're Siberian Aborigines, so like to Russia, they are what Inuits are to Americans.

No, not aboriginal. These guys from Krasnoyarsk, south of Central Siberian Plateau. That region is Yenesei land. From Altay to Krasnoyarsk lived Yenesei people. These guys are Turkic speakers, their ancestors come from East and Central Asia before replacing Yenesei people like the Kets as the dominant group. Turkic and Mongolic people are both from further East

В нашей стране России очень много народностей но не хватает музыкального народа и ведь есть такие музыкальные группы что не хуже а может даже лучше этой группы OTYKEN - STORM Вернее им надо подняться правильно найти своего руководителя Развиться И таких групп будет на все лады с харе по паре только сумей организовать.

Чулымцы очень древний народ Сибири Были расселены от Новосибирской области Алтайский край Кемеровская область Томская область Красноярский Край Иркутская область. Вымирающий народ на самом деле в Сибири более 100 народностей Люди просто... Рыба ищет где глубже а Человек где лучше.Девушки выходят замуж за городских и обеспеченных парней Парни женятся на городских женщинах и уже многие селения исчезли с лица земли. И у нас принято свободно менять свою национальность. Из-за этого одни народы увеличиваются другие народы уменьшаются а многие просто исчезают. Так что жизнь кипит и каждая на своей газовой Конфорке.

What I want to know is why the Siberians did'nt figure this rhythm out years ago? Someone in their tribe had been listening to outside world pop music and made modern mixed beats in their head with their ancient music that created OTYKEN the question is who was the one with imagination I'm guessing most of the band or a manager owner!! Why now? It seems that the younger gen was bored with the old stuff and more hip that they can make a change in the world and make new sounding music and be modern too! because if you listen to their ancestors music it's pretty BORING this new pop/tribal music is unknown to their ancient people!
