Btw Queen is 4 genius professional musicians who all wrote number one hits. Lead singer- Freddie Mercury, Guitarist- Dr. Brian May ( also an astrophysicist), bassist-JohnDeacon who was an electrical engineer, and Roger Taylor on drums and amazing back up vocals who studied dentistry. They all met as students. Freddie studied art and clothing design. He created the Queen logo.

YES- YOU TAKE MY BREATH AWAY (live, Hyde Park 1974) a young Freddie singing a beautiful, emotional Love song. Another song is WHITE QUEEN (live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975) written by Brian May. It tells of a very shy young man (Brian in college) that loves a young woman, but is much too shy to even speak to her. Freddie sings amazingly heartfelt.

Hi Ladies, I was there for this show, second of 3 Queen concerts I went to. You spent 2 weeks anticipating it, 2 hours participating in it, and until the next concert recalling it :). On this song you can hear the crowd, but i promise you we sang EVERY word, of every song, from the beginning to the end , and clapped and danced until our hands and feet ached :) Personally, the Knebworth concert was my favourite, as it had 3 of my top bands playing a set through the whole day :) 6 hours of rock heaven ! Enjoy your Queen journey, you will understand why they were, are and always will be loved by us.

May I STRONGLY suggest you watch Queen’s 20minute slot at Live Aid, Wembley, 1985. It is considered by many to be the greatest single performance by any group, anywhere. They get to sing 6 abridged versions of classic songs that will leave you clamouring for more. Your reaction was heartfelt & so good. Entering the Queen ‘rabbit hole’ will change you for life. That’s a promise.

Seesta Seesta Queen’s catalogue is simply immense in breadth & quality. As you said, there are certain songs which are now set in cultures ‘We will Rock You’, ‘We Are The Champions’ etc. But I think the greatest performance of a single song is ‘Somebody to Love’ live at Montreal in 1981. The sheer power & vocal range plus his intonation (which makes you swoon!) in phenomenal. Don’t ignore drummer Roger Taylor’s backing vocals or Brian May’s lead guitar solo. Buckle in for the long haul as you’ll pick up thousands of subscribers. I don’t think there is a finer frontman in the history of pop or ever likely to be.

Freddie Mercury was an unbelievable talent and the greatest showman of all time. I feel so fortunate I got to see him perform live at least three times (might have been four but it's so long ago!). Great reaction to this marvelous artist (and Brian May is not half bad either!). You've already reacted to this beautiful song, so no need to again. But if you want to see and hear the definitive version of it, look for the Rio 1985 version!
@ElysiaFields194 жыл бұрын
When this song was performed in Rio, a huge audience sang every word phonetically because they knew it from the radio in spite of not speaking english. It is amazing to watch and see how much they loved and welcomed Queen to their country! An early song that Freddie sings live that is hauntingly beautiful is You Take My Breath Away. I love their recordings but this incredible band was meant to be heard and seen live. For something more upbeat but soulful and addictive lol, watch Somebody to Love, live at Montreal 1981. It's his nod to Aretha Franklin as he loved her music. You will be stunned; almost everyone who reacts says so. You have opened the flood gates. Queen fans are always eager to educate new listeners and share every tidbit of information. The music catalog is massive, filled with surprises. Enjoy!!

Dr. Brian May, the guitarist, is currently recovering from a heart attack he had this past spring. He earned a doctorate in astrophysics in the years after Freddie's death and has consulted with NASA. All members of Queen were accomplished in other areas from engineering to pre-dentistry and all wrote at least one of Queen's #1 hits. Very nice reaction. Well thought out and sincere.

Queen played in Rio and there were reported 425,000. Some estimates. say there was a million. Argentina is said to be the place where the fans started singing Love of My Life back at Freddie. It was a relatively obscure song in the mainstream but touched so many emotionally and in its simplicity.

Written by Freddie for the love of his life , no not a man but a woman his first love Mary Austin , they were engaged and lived together but Freddie finally admitted he was gay , despite this he wanted to still get married because he loved her so much . They split and remained life long friends , she was with him when he died and she is the only person who knows where his ashes are . Freddie left everything to her in his will .

Brian May is one of the greatest guitarists ever. Listen to his spots when you come across other Queen songs. He has a PhD in astrophysics & is a chancellor of a college in London. Queen has been on the road for a few years with Adam Lambert as the lead singer. Some people are bitter & say Adam could never take Freddie's place. But that was never the intention. It was to keep the music alive. I saw them a year ago & it was GREAT.

I agree with many commenters, you must react to "Somebody to love", live in Montreal 1981. Another must, is from the same concert, "Killer Queen/I'm in love with my car". One more song that I'm sure you would truly love is "White Queen" live at Hammersmith. But it has to be at Hammersmith, because it's the best version. Better than the studio version. I really hope that you give these videos a look. You two are great, by the way. As someone who has listened to Queen since before either of you were born, it makes my so happy seeing you view these videos for the first time and enjoying them so much. Thanks
