Oh, what to choose....? A couple of must see is 'En livstid i krig' live from the Great Tour in Gothenburg, its in Swedish but use the subs, 'No bullets fly' the animated story, I think someone suggested that already, and finally 'Ghostdivision' live from the polish Woodstock back in 2012. Amazing performance! And this is just for starters... I also recommend their official Sabaton History Channel, if you want to learn more about the event in the song. Really good reaction!

The animated version of "No Bullets Fly" is pretty much the go-to first Sabaton recommendation -- sort of like "Ghost Love Score" is for Nightwish. BTW, in case you haven't heard it a hundred times by now, Hannes Van Dahl -- the one that went over the wall first in this video -- is Floor Jansen's husband.

If you continuing with Sabaton and do both history channel, music videos, animated videos and live performances you will find that not only do they make history current and alive. BUT they are also a totally amazing bad live. Great in energy really appreciative of their fans and big on audience interaction .. as Joachim said in an interview .. that’s what is unique and interesting for them .. the songs they know .. the people are unique .. my suggestion, at that point, is to watch the Sabaton vlogs just in private (for example from the tour in the US 2022) .. they are such nice dudes . AND hilarious 🤣 I promise you will have a big smile on your face the entire time .. these are the guys I would like to hang with 🔥

Sabaton has a loooong list of history based music. A bit of advice, Sabaton videos are often have dedications (in memory of...) and/or messages (war know knows no...) at the end, so watching to very end is recommended. Actually, Sabaton have won awards for being educators of the public (not much money, but prestige), they have a history channel on KZbin where they talk about the history behind the songs (over 100 at present) and why/how they made the song/video. Animated STORY videos. short history lessons with music videos in them, followed by concuding history), you will likely have enough explained in these to get you interested to find out more. No bullets fly Night witches Lady of the dark Red baron epic ones (official not the lyric videos) Bismark, about the sinking of the ship Defence of Moscow, self explained Christmas truce, about the spontaneous truce in some parts of the western front during Christmas 1914 40:1, about polish soldiers, badly outnumbered (just under 750 in all) facing 42 000 germans, they where BADLY outgunned desperately defending against the German invasion 1939. Uprising, the Warsaw Uprising during 1944. To hell and back, they tell the story of Audie Murphy (highly decorated) and his struggle AFTER the war, so about PTSD and drug addiction that returning soldiers can face. Fields of verdun, the 300+ day long battle fought there. Price of a mile, about the battle of Passchendaele in WW1 Screaming Eagles, about the battle of the bulge Royal guards and Livgardet in that order, they are partially intertwined and tell a story (Sabaton do that), both about the history behind Swedish Royal guards, written to celebrate the 500 year anniversary of Livgardet (Royal guards in Swedish). Unkillable soldier, Abou Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart. the acting deliberately simulates "plot armour" and acting⁷ in videogames/movies where hero never has bad outcomes to injury. he actually went through MORE in reality, survived plane crashes, escaped POW camp… served Boer war, WW1, WW2 and few minor in-between. Live performances. 40:1 from Poland Uprising, live from Poland. . En livstid I krig live from Göteborg Sweden (in Swedish but there are subtitles) ,very heavy again, about thoughts of a young man going to war. Swedish pagans, live from Wacken 2019 (with Tina Guo). these are just some, there are plenty more.

Great reaction. Almost all Sabaton music videos are epic and their live shows are incredible with massive crowd interaction and intense production. You cannot really go wrong with either, but I highly recommend the videos from the 2012 Polish Woodstock festival where Sabaton performed in front of a crowd in excess of 550,000. Keep rocking.

If you want an awesome live song with Sabaton I can heavily recommend en livstid i krig (a lifetime of war) live Scandinavium Gothenburg. It is the Swedish version of the song (the Carolus Rex album that had come out during that time is about a part of Swedish history called the era of great power or stormaktstiden) It was released in both English and Swedish versions, the English gives you more of an outsider's view of the war while the Swedish is from a Swedish soldier's view. I was at that show and all I can say is that you won't regret it.

The most things they do are great, but I really recommend you to take on "Ghost division", the official live video from Woodstock. Another great is the "En livstid i krig." That one is in Swedish, so don't forget the subtitles. But it's awesome! If you wanna go deep, see the video for "Inmate 4859". That history is not very well known, so look at Sabaton history channel on KZbin for background. Really an amazing story! Good reaction for this one!

Phenomenal reaction man - just watched you for the first time (searching "Sabaton reactions" 😅) and you speak extremely eloquently and convey thoughts and emotions brilliantly, which is a breath of fresh air. Seeing a metal enthusiast discover Sabaton with no foreknowledge is so rare, and it was awesome to see you hear the beautiful gut-punch that is Christmas Truce as your first intro to the band. Their two most recent albums (which this song is from) are about World War 1 and absolutely rock. Most people in the comments will probably recommend Bismarck next, which is a great song and music video and a standard for first-time reactors, though my personal favorite and best recommendation would be Seven Pillars of Wisdom, which is about Lawrence of Arabia and was the song that made me fall in love with Sabaton in the first place (and it bangs hard as fuck 🤘😆🤘). Lookin' forward to more reactions man! Gonna have to go through your catalogue now and catch up. 😄

You notice the section with the guitar is greenscreened in? There is a reason for it... that instrument, if you paused to look at it, has no mic hookup because it was made over a century ago. It was not actually in playable condition, the wood has long since dried out and is very fragile, but the owner was not about to let the instrument be on the primary recording lot. Even ignoring all the acting, just the humidity of the snow could damage it. The rest was recorded, including the background audio track, then he was permitted to play it for this small section in a safe place inside a recording studio. A pre-1920 piano can be found, and even if they really blew it up (they didn't, because they respect history better than that) it would not be that great a loss. A guitar from the same era is nowhere near as easy, and is insured for a value that would buy a small home.

Nice reaction, and I subscribed because you wisely let the credits roll on. As other posters note, always let the credits go through:) For suggestions, Soldier of Heaven, Harlem Hellfighters, and the song they usually end with, "To Hell and Back" about Audie Murphy. Their stage tank is named Audie. And a favorite concert of mine is the Hellfest 2019 concert, where Sabaton filled in for Manowar. Joakim lost his voice, so the two guitarists, Tommy Johansson and Chris Rörland took turns singing the songs with Joakim providing them with the lyric sheets. This concert is over an hour, so not sure you want to do a reaction to it, but it is incredible to watch, that despite everything, they still performed a great show for the large crowd expecting Manowar.

First off one important thing: Whichever music video of Sabaton you watch, make sure you stick around to the very end. Sabaton likes to hide some little easter-eggs in there on occasion. Christmas Truce is no exception in this regard. Remember the opera vocals during the credits? That is none other than Floor Jansen of Nightwish - who just so happens to be the wife of Sabaton's drummer. With that said, let me give you a few recommendations.. Bismarck (Official Music Video) The Unkillable Soldier (Official Music Video) No Bullets Fly (Animated Story Video) Night witches (Animated Story Video) The Lady of the Dark (Animated Story Video) 40:1 (live in Poland 2010) The Red Baron (Live, The Great Tour - Berlin) Swedish Pagans (Live, The Great Tour - Gothenburg)

Sabaton is a Swedish band that writes and sings about Actual historic events, battles, moments of heroism and wars, but hey don't glorify war whatsoever. They released their 10th studio album earlier this year. Nice thing about them is that their video's never blocked so it's KZbin safe. (except for some Wacken video's that gets blocked by Wacken) If you really want to go down the Sabaton rabbit-hole, I would recommend these: (These are all from the Sabaton Channel, and they never block videos so it's safe to use) [live at Woodstock 2012]: Ghost Division, 40:1 and Uprising [Great Tour Live Videos]: En Livstied I Krig (make sure to turn subtitles on), Red Baron, Swedish Pagans, Primo Victoria, Fields of Verdun, Devil Dogs & Angels Calling [Lyric videos]: Attack of the dead men, The Final Solution, In Flanders Fields, 82nd All the way, Sparta, Shiroyama, Cliffs Of Gallipolli and The lost betallion [Music Video's]: Bismarck, Steel Commanders, Defence of Moscow, Livgardet (make sure to turn subtitles on), Fields of Verdun, Rourke's Drift, Screaming Eagles, Uprising, The Future Of Warfare (Building Blocks Video) & Seven Pillars of wisdom [Animated History Video's]: Night Witches and No Bullets Fly (not animated music video's, the animated history/story video's) [Covers]: Kingdom Come [Offical video] and I'm sure people told you but in case, Sabaton have another channel (Sabaton History Channel) where they do a deep dive into the history behind the songs with Indy Nidell.

To be the first one to step in no man's land with 100 rifles pointing at you, that requires some big time major balls of steel; and nobody shot., it's so inspiring. One of the most famous is that of British commander Francis Wallington, who told of a sergeant under his command who crossed German lines to meet a German soldier in the middle of the battlefield. The name of the British sergeant who crossed the lines during the Christmas truce was Frank Naden. In his book "Silent Night: The Story of the World War I Christmas Truce," historian Stanley Weintraub describes how Naden approached the German lines with a small white flag and was greeted by German soldiers who came out to meet him. After exchanging gifts and chatting, Naden returned to his trench and told the story to his comrades-in-arms.

Thanks for mentioning the book, also mentioned in another music video post section. I bought the book, but still don't have the heart to read it: I know it's tragic. That war should never have started, or once started, should have ended with the 1914 Christmas Truce, and then followed Charles Dickens' advice through the character Scrooge, to honor Christmas every day of the year, peace on Earth. People might say this is dreaming, but we aren't the only ones.

little known fact, the inter service friendships were so extensive between the British Royal Navy and the German Navy, and indeed the German and British Armies that in 1914, some men had familial connections to the other side, at the Naval battle of the Falklands, in 1914, one of the german survivors pulled from the icy south atlantic waters was the 1st cousin by marriage of the second in command of the British Naval force at the battle, one Rear Admiral Stoddart. The men of the armies and navies knew each other and in cases where a familial connection existed, those men handed letters across the lines in the hopes these letters would find their family members during the 1914 truce. during the truce in the trenches, the men on both sides helped to collect the fallen, sometimes aiding to carry fallen soldiers back behind the lines, the truce had infact informally began much earlier in November but it was little things like at the end of the day, the fallen would collected and perhaps newspapers exchanged, but as december came in and christmas neared, the men had no will to fight on what is considered widely at the time as the holiest of days, one British soldier is recorded as having frequent morning visits by a German Sergeant to quote "see how they were getting on". One British Captain later described how the first German Interpreter he spoke to was from Suffolk and he (the German) had left his Girlfriend and a 3.5 Horse Power Motorcycle (quite a powerful motor to have at the time) and how as the men conversed and interacted, all ended up, with all men from both sides singing Auld Lang Sine and that had he been a Civilian and seen it in the Cinematograph Film or what we would call a Movie as in those days if you went to the Cinema, before the start of the movie, there was the News, he would have sworn the whole thing was faked, it was absolutely astounding and he felt that you had to be there to believe it.

You should listen to the Metal Crue song from Sabaton. Even if you don't make a video about it. According to the singer Joachim, he wrote the song on the toilet within 20 min. because they needed anouther song on their album. It's a metal encyclopedia because he used a metal magazine to write it. It is a part of a triology (metal crue (band names). metal machine (metal album names), metal ripper (metal song lyrics)) there is a mashup of the three song made by Sabaton make sure you listen to the 3 songs in their original form.

Which one next? 1916 (Sabaton cover from Motorhead original) Just do it, you can thank me later. Then after that you need Bismarck.

I enjoyed your reaction so here you have a new subscriber🙃 but I wonder if you could turn down the background music a notch when you're talking. It's good music but I had tough time hearing what you said. I might be the only one then just ignore me but if there's more than me it's something to think about. 🤓🇸🇪

Thanks for subbing! Yeah the background music is new for me, so I need to find a proper way to do it. Thanks!
