Nichijou is a classic with amazing comedy and memes, but also has some moments that hit in the feels in unexpected ways. As you caught on to, the cast is a collection of "interesting" people lol, and while there isn't fighting, there are some "action" scenes that are among the best animated ever. Definitely recommend checking it out eventually.

I assume someone's already covered this somewhere in the comments, but one of the most interesting things about the Nichijou OPs is that they are NOT duets. Both the male (Hyadain) and the female (Hyadaruko) parts are sung by the same singer, using a voice modulator to generate the female voice. Even in the music videos, the female singer is an actress who is lip syncing to his voice. This is so weirdly appropriate for Nichijou, which is one of the most unique "true comedy" animes out there - it reminds me of a lot of other 4koma stuff (like Azumangah Daioh but more focused on physical gags) or, for those of us raised in a Spanish-speaking country, Condorito comics - very loosely related little vignettes that feature recurring characters and jokes and tell a pseudo-story. It's a very unique vibe, and not every joke will land if you're not Japanese, but the slapstick humor is universal, and extremely funny.

Nichijou is the anime I watch again and again. It doesn't take a lot to get into or out of it but never fails to entertain. Also, I mean come on, the 2 openings are absolute bangers.

_Nichijou_ is a hilarious absurdist comedy, so check it out of that's your thing. It also does an excellent job of adapting the original manga, which is unique in that there's not the typical big jumps between scenes, it's almost like looking at a series of frames from an animation. The anime adapts this by having REALLY smooth animation, which seems a bit silly for a comedy, but it IS true to the manga!

At least top 3 in my best comedy shows of all time. It's super funny. So many classic clips from it. Also, the first opening (not sure on the second one) is sung by one person and the other voice is just edited voice of the same person. Edit: Nothing will ever beat the temple scene. If you know you know.

Pretty sure the shooting element is a gag, like an elevation of the girl gets embarrassed and slaps the guy gag, she now instead blasts 'em with a bazooka or minigun. lol

I can’t believe that no one in the comments has mentioned that for the two opening themes there is only one guy who wrote the songs, played all the instruments, and sang all the parts (with a voice changer)!

Nichijo and lucy star are og very japanese anime culture based comedies nichijou being more slapstick so they can land flat for person new to anime and anime tropes

There is a bunch of endings but I don't know how to guide you to them. My favorite is ed 4. Also the shooting element... errr I'm not sure. The guns aren't there to kill but they are not entirely metaphorical? They're just a gag from what I remember, just that character's gag.
