I spent my childhood in northern Indiana working on my uncles farm. He raised hogs and at his peak was running 10,000 head. Not the biggest operation, but pretty large. He worked about 18,000 acres and 14,000 was corn just to feed the hogs. Occasionally when it was a good year I can remember him selling 2 or 3 semi loads, but mostly it was ground up for feed. The rest was beans, wheat, some alfalfa and sunflowers. And John Deere was his brand. He had over a dozen tractors, 3 of them being this model. As a ten year old kid I wasn't allowed to run them. I was relegated to a 4440 with a front loader attachment. Running the fields to remove rocks, cleaning up spills, burying dead hogs, pulling grain carts at harvest, that kind of work. But I can remember watching all three John Deere 8640's side by side making short work out of a field. I believe he was pulling 10 bottom plows, but that may not be right. Hard to remember that far back! Nice video. Brought back some really fond memories
