The black haired guy who appears in every opening starting from the second one is the main antagonist, yes. His name is Naraku and his body is a composite of countless hundreds or possibly thousands of evil spirits who all converged upon and devoured a wicked human whose malevolence summoned said spirits to him who he subsequently made a pact with. That pact resulted in said composite body, with the devoured human's heart serving as the core of said composite body. His body being composite of countless individual bodies all crushed together is why his appearance always seems to be changing. Actually it's not even accurate to say his appearance is changing, that's downplaying the truth, which is that he's actively remaking his own body to become stronger. He can not only cut out undesired parts of himself, but he can also take other evil spirits into himself. Beings that are part human and part spirit have a dedicated word in the series (in Japanese, at least). They're called hanyou. Naraku's human heart core makes him an artificial hanyou. This makes him a twisted foil for Inuyasha himself, who is also a hanyou. Inuyasha is exactly half human and half spirit, and was naturally born from a loving union between a human and a powerful spirit. Inuyasha is the son of the now-deceased ex-commander of the supernatural forces that occupied the island that would become Japan and fought against another army of supernatural forces occupying what they called 'the continent' (the other world is not actually another world, just 500 years in the past, and 'the continent' is of course Asia, primarily what would become China). If that sounds interesting, sorry but the series has nothing to do with the titular character's father's old business. I don't think the revelation that Inuyasha's father was fighting against an army from 'the continent' actually comes up until the sequel series, although the dragon who killed him _might_ have come from 'the continent'. I forget if that was a thing or not. Not sure if you'd watch this in Japanese or English (if at all), but if you watch it in Japanese the spirits I've been referring to all the time are called 'youkai'. If you watch it in English they just call them 'demons', and hanyou are just called 'half-demons'. This creates the awkward situation of Naraku being referred to as a 'half-demon' even though he's almost 100% 'demon'/'youkai'/spirit.

Inuyasha is quite a unique Isekai, because she's able to cross between worlds(in this case times) though the well whenever she wants, as suppose to being transported and stuck within the new world.

They don't have to die for it to be considered a Isekai. Isekai's are just traveling to another world/time/demantion. InuYasha was pretty much the first Isekai.

@@HeroineWAO there were definitely isekai before InuYasha, the best example for North America would be Dungeons & Dragoons. Just a little show about a bunch of kids trapped in a fantasy world produced by Marvel/Sunbow and animated by Toei in Japan.
