Ateez are actually very appreciative of Latino culture. They incorporate things into a good portion of their songs and I don't think I've ever heard people complain about appropriation, so they're doing a good job

I don't think I've seen any (non indigenous) Latin americans complain about cultural appropriation much at all actually, I think most of us are just happy to see stuff that relates to our countries be recognised and unless the intent is very clearly malicious we don't complain. But also I'll say, I'm from one of the countries that doesn't share much culturally with the more tropical areas so nobody thinks of us first when they hear "latino" and as such we don't have the issue of badly done representation 😅

No wonder you've never heard of them. Even though i've been listening to kpop for many years i've never heard of them until i accidentally discovered them 3 years ago. and since i'm an atiny i've seen how much they are boycotted by the media. Just this year they do big festivals (coachella and mawazine) in which they are absolutely amazing, the media barely talked about them. And even for award ceremonies they almost never get nominated. That's because they come from a small company. but we, atinys, are here to support them, because they are real artists who compose their music and always sing live. No pre-made products.

ateez are my 3rd ult group in kpop, i have been an atiny ever since their debut with pirate king. my biases are San (amazing vocals), Mingi (deep voice rapper), Seonghwa and Jongho ( king of high notes) where as my wreckers are HJ ( the captain), Wooyoung, Yunho and Yeosang. my top 3 Ateez songs id recommend you listen and react to would be Pirate King, Wonderland, Answer and Empty Box

You guys are dancers right? So I recommend any performance versions of their MVs, lives, or dance practices. ATEEZ are incredible performers. For live singing, instead of Killing Voice, you would probably enjoy Studio Choom or It's Live, because those two include dancing/performing.

ATEEZ is a rabbithole you will love falling down. I saw them live twice last month and it was life-changing. You have a whole lot of videos to go through and yes they're captain Hongjoong loves to use different music styles especially Latino. Off topic another video that you may like is "O Sole Mio" by SF9. It has a Latino flare but actually has I believe five different languages in it. Have fun on your new journey!!!
