The funny thing is that growing up I really didn't see Elvis much in terms of a live performance setting, I was too young to go to his shows but I did see him on television a couple times

Elvis was the total package, voice, style, mannerism, stage precense, diversety, hell even his 50' hairstyle is legendary 😅 (actually his hairstyle ducktail , sideburns and high backcombed front hair, was voted the most iconic hairstyle of performers, around 7 years ago).

Isn’t it amazing how a man who has bean dead for over 46 years can still rivet your attention?! Lovely reaction to the phenomenon that is Elvis. Thank you for keeping Elvis so relevant in these times, bringing him to new audiences and inevitably, new young fans. He was an amazing singer who could sin any genre from rock, country, ballads to gospel. He could even have sung opera according to Pavarotti!! Watching this performance, you can see how he had the band under his control, with Ronnie Tutt, the amazing drummer , in pace with every move. Please do more Elvis. Love watching the genuine admiration and wonder on faces of people falling in love with Elvis👌💕🕺🙏

I really enjoyed reading your comment you are so right. Elvis is definitely timeless. I even did a tribute to Elvis “suspicious minds” after my introduction to his rendition. You can watch here, if you want to see my cover: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZ6lgYtnlqiLaLc

He had such a good time, they all laughed and joked a lot. The reason he was always sweating was because he put out so much energy and he did two shows a night in Vegas, every day for almost 2 months without a break. Nobody does that today, but Elvis fans appreciated his dedicated work ethic, and his great talent. He even played and sang gospel music after the 2 shows were over. there will never be another like him. If you want to see what a wonderful humanitarian he was see, "Elvis Presley, a Generous Heart" and also "Elvis Presley King of Kindness" you won't believe what a generous person he was. Thanks and Be blessed.

If you didn't know, one of the sweet inspirations singers is Cissy Houston, Whitney Houston's mother.@@MrsPenPal
@carolhayar3037 Жыл бұрын
@@jamesholland9314 Cissy Houston was with Elvis for just 5 weeks in 1969 from July 31st to Aug. 28th. She said she left to be at home w-her children but there was some behind-the-scenes issues going on which may have played a part. Elvis had 3 backups at this time, plus Kathy Westmoreland, & then took on a 4th backup.

Because I know you will totally understand and appreciate this, not only did other people in his core band do backing vocals here and there, he also had the two sets of backing vocalist groups that were interwoven into the band even though they were kind of separate entities before and after that. One is the Sweet Inspirations that someone else already explained and that's an amazing story right there, it's incredible. And then he had a group of three or four male vocalists. And, just as the lineup of the Sweet Inspirations doing the female backing vocals changed slightly over time although some like Sylvia Shemwell and others were constants, Whitney Houston's mother being one of them earlier on before taking off on her own small career and taking care of her daughter who would one day become absolutely huge, the male backing vocalists were at various points led by JD Stamps, known for his incredible basso profundo, or true bass. They went by the name of the JD Stamps Quartet. I think there might have been some overlap but at other times the male backing vocalist group went by The imperials. This was true from even his early days when he was in his very early twenties, and he had the Jordanaires, who were doing all the backing stuff for him in addition to his absolutely incredible three and later four-piece band once they added DJ Fontana on drums. The Jordanaires were so popular and highly sought after. But they would always drop what they were doing for Elvis in those early years.

The water throwing incident at Hampton Roads 1972 when at the very, very start of the video Elvis called out “Please Release Me” but the band began playing “I Can’t Stop Loving You” - he didn’t stop them, he went right into the song, he then walked over to his glass of water, picked it up & playfully threw it at Glen @ piano -- a fun, energetic, powerhouse kzbin.info/www/bejne/gn_XgWh9mZ2Efac -- but you must make sure you listen ver closely to the very opening & try not to talk because it will cut in to what's going on & it won't make much sense. He did give a little look of irritation @ beginning. (I guess you won't play this since I am unable to make a donation.)
