It honestly feels very unique to me. It’s been said before, but typically the main center of our protagonists are like an elite group where only certain people are allowed to be in. The difference with Fairy Tail is that literally anyone and everyone is allowed to be apart of it no matter how strong or weak you are, and that makes it feel more like a family than most anime It has its tropes (fan service being the worst), but it’s an amazing story of character progression and the sense of family

The reasons people hate fairy tail are because the author betrayed it's fans by introducing world breaking items and including fake out deaths every 2 seconds. The anime is amazing overall. I only have two complaints to it: One) too many times it fakes characters' deaths. Every now and then is one thing, but there's very few that actually die among allies and they use the trick too often. Two) Of lesser complaint, the use of 'the power of friendship' as a power boost, though they do explain it a bit later, so that's better than most that use that trope in that regard.

Anyone can “technically “ learn any type of magic but will you, no, most people in this world stick to 1 or two, whatever is their favorite or more proficient with. If you wanna put in the time, can learn different elements and different types under those elements (type being combat, support, miscellaneous etc..)

That one enemy MC always fight doesn't necessarily need to lose when he fighting the MC, it can be a draw or the MC maybe the one who lose. So it's make sense why he keep coming back.

Fairy Tail is fr a comfort anime. I think you guys would love it, it starts of with some minor events and character building, but as it progresses, shit gets crazy and things tie together. I freaking love it

I will say, while people could be justified in saying that individual story arcs can be subject to ass pulls sometimes, the overall story writing is immaculate and there is a HEAVY amount of foreshadowing for some endgame stuff as early as the first season. And the best part is, it's not even over. The sequel manga got green lit for an anime quite a while ago, so we might see it come out next year if not late this year.

let's go 2:40 Lol - how about stairs inside the mountain tunnels. xD 13:35 Yeah - the MC has drip and her body is seemingly magically growing every new season (Lucy is more of a MC really, even if Natsu does take the role of that main male character). 15:30 Oh I do like this mix of someone who knows something about the series -like the basic stuff like that and someone who knows literally nothing. 24:30 That was JoJo's reference . 34:40 Zerø is the name for the arc (well not really - as the real proper name for this arc gets revealed at the end of it). It was originally released as side manga called Fairy Tail: Zerø. It is in fact a prequel story about the founders of the guild. And you did correctly notice that some characters have been aging, when the others haven't. It's a plot related thing though. A very relevant part as well. Have to watch it to learn about it. 34:50 Final series - but it's more of a final season to the original story. Since then we did get Fairy Tail: 100 Years Old Quest, which is a direct continuation and a sequel. And it is supposed to get anime adaptation in this/next year. 42:50 Magic. 47:00 If you start now - you probably won't even catch up before new episodes drop, so it's definitely worth checking out. 47:20 I would say - it's a classic long-run shounen. It has a lot of fun and good moments and a lot of interesting fights. And Mashima does create a solid linked up story - bringing stuff from the earliest episodes up to the end. But it also is hit by a lot of issues. Power of friendship is an actual legitimate power source here, so you have to be ok with that. At some point writing kinda degrades and more characters should probably have died through the story - but I would blame it on the fact that author of it is still a human being and the finale was really rough time for him mentally and physically (he is active online so he got hit with toxicity of anime fandoms circa 2015 really hard). But if you are willing to overlook flaws and somehow degrading animation (artstyle improves, animation goes cheaper later on), it is fun show to watch. Also the fact that final season isn't actually a final season helps a lot, as the sequel expands some storylines and romance that people were hungry for, but it also improves a lot of issues people had with the show. Fairy Tail is however one of the biggest shounens from that era. One of the few that actually are not Shounen Jump series, which also explains smaller budget for some stuff (like compared to DragonBall, JoJo or Naruto). Also fun part about Fairy Tail - aside one filler arc in the beginning - mangaka actually directly have worked with the studio to create the big filler arcs. And all of them right now are canonised, by the direct references in the manga (or filler characters becoming part of the main cast). Which is fun to have that dual experience. Even if the quality of those arcs not necessarily always hit the good level. But same can be said for manga originated arcs. Like if you want to any point of reference - Fairy Tail is more like Naruto or Dragon Ball, than its JoJo or Fullmetal or AoT. It doesn't take itself serious, it's pretty comedic, pretty fan-service-y. It has mixed quality, has cool characters with properly fleshed out character arcs and it has that overall "friendship and love is always the best" type of thing, that is classic to like late 90s shounens.
