And...another couple falls down the rabbit hole. You are so fucking doomed. We'll save you chairs. You're about to be buried in Home Fries. Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks. God bless ‘em. All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He's a two-time world champion and there're good reasons he's called a "Freak of Nature" and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam's incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete's sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), and his drum solos. For more of Tim's seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). For Chance's smooth baritone, check out Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome. A basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow. For Rob's smooth soul, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) For Austin's soaring tenor, check out Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.) For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.) For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne. For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female. For more of their wonderful collaborations, check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, or Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Peter Hollens. Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you'll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim's mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob and Austin singing Nessun Dorma. You'll need smelling salts after that one. Don't miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they'll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother). Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.” You are doomed, Home Fries. Bring ketchup.

Adam Rupp... the beatboxer gave a little tutorial on how to do the Nomonica.... he said, you start by talking like Cartman from South Park. Yes, every single sound you hear in Home Free is made by the human mouth.

Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves. In this song they are making a distinct southern (bluegrass) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story, which Austin's twang fits phenomenally. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Some of my favorites are "Working for a Living", "Good 'Ol Country Harmony", "Land of the Free", "Elvira" (with the Oak Ridge Boys), "Undivided", "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up" (which is not on YT--it's on their official Facebook page) and now "Listen to the Music", "Brother" and "When Will I Be Loved" 😍!

"Home Free Vocal Band" is a country a Capella group that won season 4 of the "Sing Off". Adam Rupp (world class beat boxer) and his brother Chris Rupp (left band in 2016) founded the band in 2001. Tim Foust - Incredible Bass, Rob Lundquist and Austin Brown - Amazing Tenors, Adam "Chance" - Smooth Baritone/Bass. I think “Man of Constant Sorrow” is their consummate Song/Video. Their catalog is huge with many, many outstanding songs. 50% Pop/Classic, 30% Country, 15% Inspiring, 5% Goofy Fun, 200% Entertaining, 100% Humble.

The wink was Austin Brown - high tenor. He’s a great flirt. Introductions: Tim Foust bass, Adam Rupp beat boxer and founding member of the band, Robb Lundquist tenor, Adam Chance, goes by Chance, baritone/bass. Sings bass when Tim takes the lead. There are so many Homr Free videos to react to. If you’d like to hear a great Austin lead, try When a Man Loves a Woman. I think you’ll really enjoy anything you listen to, ranging from the ridiculous (funny) to sublime. enjoy

A couple of neat things that sometimes folks miss about this performance...Tim (the bass), after his solo, actually DROPS an octave in the choral bit right after...also, Austin (the lead tenor in this song), finishes some of his phrases with a VERY country little half-yodel. So cool!

You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
@babyfry4775

Home Free is all “a cappella” so the beatboxer was doing the drumming, harmonica and other sounds. Chance, in the back left, was doing the mouth harp. Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low and then sing up with the tenors. They’re an amazing group and while they’re country they sing all genres of music and all take the lead depending on the song. Incredible talents. Good reaction!😃

New subscriber! Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas! They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Robb Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful.
