English is widely spoken in the Philippines. They have 120 different dialects in the Philippines, so frequently they don't understand what others are saying. So English is mandatory in school. In fact,their school books are in English. Kids sing karaoke as young as 2 years old. They can't talk properly yet,but they can sing perfectly. Crazy huh

Unfortunately I have never been to the Philippines, meaning I have not been to the Metrowalk. I've seen quite a few talented artists including Jessica Sanchez, but if I were to hazard a guess. I'm sure Katrina has either the top 4 or 5 performances on that stage of all time. Two of her Whitney Houston, and one Beyonce Medley, and that crazy performance of "SOTR". Agree the home one is better quality, and one can argue evenore skillful, but that raw performance at the Metrowalk was like exhausting. It seemed as if she was actually combust. Like a Super Sayhaan or something. Stage or home, she's just something else

Most Filipinos don't really speak Spanish bit it's just easier for us to sort of read and pronounce the words (though not perfectly) because we were colonized by Spain for 333 years and we've adapted a lot of their words.
