If you watch the "film version" of this song, she both sings and tells the story from the point of view of being an old woman confessing to a 40 year old murder to a reporter. In it, you'll hear her explain her *fiance* had a fling with her brother's cheating wife, too. "That's one body that'll never be found, you see little sister never misses when she aims her gun." The Judge had a fling with her, too (bloodstains on his hands). The young bride was a slut and little sister killed them both. Her brother found her there and told her to get the hell out of there and took the blame. And was hung for it. Country music is a whole lot more than just a band with a banjo. I use to think so, too, so don't feel bad about that! Reba has a fantastic voice. Thanks for your reaction!

though amazing, wish ya pulled up the vid when she 1st sang the song. Young and new to the scene, when women weren't seen as nothing more then a warm up act for their male superstar counterparts. You should have seen the music video version of Reba with this song. It's filmed like a murder-mystery movie like those that are based on a true story. It's fantastic, and the visual story telling shows another point of view of the story in the song.

They hung her brother but she killed his wife (according to the video, his wife was also cheating with her fiancé and she shot them both but he covered for her) so a difference between the recording and the music video.

Reba is a huge deal in the US country scene, not so well known in UK sadly, but she's a great singer, has a fantastic country voice and comes across (to me at least) as a nice woman. She's also, as you've read, a savvy business woman. Many strings to her bow.

This is a remake made famous by Vicki Lawrence. Lawrence's version, from her 1973 album of the same name, went to number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart after its release. Vicki was on the Carol Burnett Show for many years, and also in a show called Mama's Family. Now to Reba---she was in the Movie Tremors and also had her on TV Show. I got to see Reba in concert and was absolutely amazing. I agree 100% about country, I didn't like it at all but have learned to like a bunch of country bands and singers. I also saw Hank Jr in concert--they had to set up metal detectors to stop the crowd from bring in knives. You need to check out Lady A and Little Big Town, Blake Shelton to a few!! Cheers!

Yes little sister don't miss when she aims her gun. She killed her brother's wife and his best friend Andy. The sister was dating Andy. She caught her sister in law and Andy in bed. Her brother was hung for it before she could confess. Fancy is another of her great story songs
