Actually all music was done by the same people. Casey Williams was about 12-14 when she did the first songs for the show (now she is 24 still singing here) and not that long ago she was promoted to main compositor (previous was her father) She is amasing

You guys tend to take stuff way too much at face value haha. Sometimes in openings, things are artistic decisions so people falling could mean things are spiralling and going bad. If their flying maybe it means things are going well. The city dissipating doesn’t mean it’s actually disappearing like that in the show, it might just mean a negative thing is going on at the place they are at. Tho one thing to remember is that most things in RWBY, mostly characters, are based on Fairy tales like the little red riding hood, or (indeed) alice in wonderland.

Good news is, Rooster Teeth (the company that makes this show) are VERY Reactor friendly and will let you react to the entire show without having to cut it down for copy right (within some guidelines). And Yes, the Music is an ESSENTIAL part of the show as it provides all kinds of information about the character, their backstories and their inner thoughts. Go for it! I just found you reacting to this and I think it’s really cool! It’s my favorite anime ever and I’m glad you’re enjoying it too. Here’s some helpful things to know going into this. Highly suggest to watch the Red, White, Black, and Yellow trailers (in that order) first before starting volume 1. You don’t need to worry about editing some of the show out. Rooster Teeth loves people reacting to their stuff. If you do run into a copyright issue with KZbin you can appeal and rooster teeth will clear it up asap. Every weapon in here is basically part melee and part gun. The animation does improve as they get more budget. With that being said welcome to RWBY!

As a side note, just so you guys know, the first four trailers are canon to the actual story of the series. There's also another canon trailer set between seasons 3 and 4. There's also the World of Remnant videos that go with this that I highly recommend seeing. They're creative explanations of the World of Remnant that they live on.

The series was made by an American studio (Rooster Teeth), so it's in English and all the music is in English, too. Ironically, back when it first came out, a lot of people demanded to get the "original Japanese with subtitles" because they couldn't even tell it wasn't a Japanese production; eventually it did get official Japanese _dubbing,_ though, so you *could* watch it dubbed into Japanese, then subbed *back* into English for max irony. Now, there's huge debate over what does or doesn't qualify as Anime; lots of people will insist that shows like RWBY or ATLA don't qualify as Anime because they weren't produced in Japan. The argument hinges on the idea that, in order to be _genuine_ Anime, it must be produced _in_ Japan, _by_ a Japanese studio; even if the exact same show were made by the exact same techniques, if it's made outside Japan then it isn't genuine Anime, it's just Sparkling Animation. I... do _not_ subscribe to that philosophy, which I refer to as the "Champanime" argument. It isn't like Champagne or Parmigiano Reggiano that has a regional trademark, and it leads to strange corner cases. What if a notable Japanese studio, lets say Mappa, decides to move out of Japan and set up shop in California. But they produce the exact same shows with the exact same techniques by the exact same people. Do the shows they make suddenly stop qualifying as Anime? What if they stayed in Japan, but gradually hired more and more non-Japanese staff until Mappa eventually was predominantly a mix of Koreans and Americans; do their shows stop qualifying as Anime because they are no longer made by Japanese artists and producers? What if an American company goes and sets up shop in Japan and hires Japanese residents to run the studio, but makes Western-style shows; do those shows count as Anime since they're made "in Japan by Japanese staff"? I think the only real criteria that should determine whether a show qualifies as an Anime, *especially* in the modern, globally interconnected world, is whether you can look at it and say, "This gives me the impression of an Anime." If it has the aesthetic, motif, mood, themes, and characterizations typical of what we, in the West, expect when we think of "Anime", then it should qualify as an Anime no matter where it comes from or who made it.

But that's not fair to shows like Link Click, or Mo Dao Zu Shi, which are Donghua. Animation from China, with a very similar art style, although less known then anime. I used to believe that anime is just a term for all animation with that art style. And technically it is, but then I started watching Donghua, and started noticing the difference. I think what makes anime anime is that it's Japanese. It's culture is Japanese, and all the jokes are clearly Japanese. Even if it's made in another country, it's clearly trying to mimic the story style and joke style of Anime. At least to the style of "Anime." And even Donghua has some similarities to anime, but that doesn't make it Anime. They're still vastly different. I mean just watch a few episodes of certain Donghua, and you'll see how different they are. Especially since, Donghua are based off of Chinese culture. I'm not saying that RWBY isn't an anime, but I am saying to say that EVERY animation with a similar style to anime is anime. Because it's not always true. You have to think about how a country's culture and language can affect the mood and plot of the stories. Especially Donghua. I hope I didn't come off like I was arguing with you. I'm not, I just really love this topic and love to talk about it and point people towards the niche medium that is Donghua.

All characters are colour coded and their names are based on the colours they represent. Ruby Rose is red, Weiss Schnee is white, Blake Belladonna is black (Like the belladonna flower) and Yang Xiao Long (which roughly means Little Sunshine Dragon) being yellow. RWBY is their team and is composed of the 4 main characters first letters, R-Ruby, W-Weiss, B-Blake, Y-Yang. RWBY, when sounded out, also sounds like Ruby to emphasize that Ruby Rose is the absolute main protagonist here even though there's a big focus on their group as a whole. This colour naming rule extends to every character in the entire series (IIRC?) and is a pretty cool concept imo.

RWBY is not an anime, it's an American animated series by Rooster Teeth. The creator, Monty Oum, created a character trailer by himself as a proof of concept for the combat, and then once the group decided to pursue the idea they created three more trailers together to introduce the other main characters. Like yeah sure there's spoilers in all the openings like [redacted] not being there, but that's not something you'd notice without context. Welcome to the Rwby series. If you do start reacting to the rest of it, please start with the 'Rwby trailers' and then to the episodes themselves just to get yourselves comfortable. Most of Rwby's inspirations are based off fairy tales that we have, however in their own spin off versions. From there, they create stories and plot twists for Ruby and her team to get through. As of now, Volume 9 has just had its season finale and is now on hiatus for an indefinite time, due to Warner Bros. now owning RoosterTeeth Productions. So it will 'TBD' if the series gets 'green-lit' for its Volume 10. That being said, a good time to get into the series slowly as you wish. Just a heads up, this started as a fan project that was given the opportunity to start from within the company itself, so it'll have a rough start with animation and dialogue, so bare with it if possible.

I'd suggest watching the RWBY Red, White, Black, and Yellow Trailers. They aren't the normal spoilery trailers that show you scenes from the show, they're more detatched demonstrations of the characters abilities and fighting styles. Also like some others said, this was originally an online web series so the episodes in the first few "Volumes" (What they call Seasons) are short, and was mostly a mix of comedy and action (the animation kicks up a lot when it comes to action scenes).

RWBY is one of my all time favorites. Highly recommend! I chuckled when you said it reminded you of a game. The show's creators would often say the same thing in the audio commentaries and other behind the scenes stuff. xD RWBY is unique in that it is well, an American Anime. It was made in Texas and California by the Rooster Teeth crew. Before RWBY, their other main series was Red Vs Blue, which started out as little five minute Halo Machinima videos. "So we have ruby, snow, lightning and...the cat girl." Whose power is...being a cat. xD Omg I just about died laughing! This actually has made me notice some little touches and things in the openings I never thought about before. You actually had some very perceptive insights, noticing some little clues here and there, though of course I won't say what you might've got right or wrong because I'd love to see you react to the series. Ruby is Mario, you heard it hear first! Lmao! xD If you get into RWBY, my advice would be to ignore the small percentage of the fandom that wants to focus on pointless drama and bickering. Most of us aren't like that I promise. The ones who are, are just really loud and obnoxious. ^_^

Fun Fact: When Roosterteeth was designing the world of remnant they were in an ihop eating breakfast or lunch I think and they were stuck on how to make the map so I think it was Joel he literally had a blob of ketchup on a napkin folded said napkin and pulled it open and the smudge the ketchup made thus became the world of remnant

Regarding the comment of you saying that the music is a banger. Casey and her father Jeff do all the music (Jeff stopped doing the music in Volume 9). Also each Volume has an OST and every song has very important lyrics regarding the show.

I've never seen someone react to openings before watching a show, so this was certainly an experience for me lmao You would've made better theories if you just completely scrapped the "multiple realities" thing instead of doubling and tripling down on it, but the fact that you didn't let it go just made everything more and more insane, loved it.

The guy on the right is correct in his guess: it's not an anime. It's an animated web series that takes inspiration from many sources: Fairy Tales, literature, video games, and indeed, anime(which shows, especially in the first season). The creator himself(RIP) explained this over a decade ago. But over the years, the company responsible for this IP(RT), needed/wanted more money, so they sold distribution rights to CrunchyRoll(an anime site) for revenue. So a fair amount of people assume it's an anime for this, and other reasons, like the stylized action sequences, the eyes of characters, etc. Either way, despite a majority of the plot is taken/inspired from other works, it's an extremely well written and enjoyable show. Probably one of the best (if not the best) works I have experienced (from 1000's of shows, films, plays/musicals/operas, and literature)
