Yeah, Shadow's got the inhibitor rings to keep his energy in check because boy is basically a walking bomb. His energy can go completely unchecked without them-- he removes them to get more of his strength, but afterwards he's typically exhausted. We love our chaos energy walking nuke. 🥰

ngl, when i watched in the theaters , I just watched until the end credit scenes that showed Amy but not until someone picked up shadows limiter! I was thinking ain't no way Shadow died! But yeah about the limiter ring that shadow puts on, its to put his power in check because he could over exert himself causing explosion. Thats from what I remembered

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is an amazing movie. Keanu Reeves was amazing for Shadow the Hedgehog. Shadow the Hedgehog's origin does explain why he wanted revenge on GUN. Sonic and Shadow transform into Super Sonic and Super Shadow. Shadow help Team Sonic and Dr. Robotink to defeat Dr. Robotink's grandfather. And the post credits are incredible. Metal Sonic is the best scene. Amy Rose came to defeat Metal Sonic. And Shadow picked up his ring bracelet.

Like the previous two films, liberties were taken with the Shadow/Maria/Gerald/G.U.N. backstory: In the Games and Comics, Ivo and Gerald never actually met in person although most of Ivo/Eggman`s schemes were based on schemes Gerald came up with to take revenge on mankind and G.U.N. for "taking Maria from him", the difference being Gerald`s schemes were more about destruction and revenge whilst Ivo`s were more about conquest and his ego, they did both conclude most other humans were stupid and ungrateful however albeit for very different reasons. Also, as much as Gerald resembled an older Ivo their demeanors couldn`t be more different especially prior to Maria`s death driving Gerald insane and bitter. Maria and Shadow met on the Space Colony ARK when Gerald was looking for a cure for his fictional disease Neuro Immune Deficiency Disorder.(Which was omitted from the Film, instead the Space Colony ARK and Gerald`s iconic Eclipse cannon were saved for the climax and Shadow and Maria met at a GUN lab in Colorado instead, in the Games GUN took Gerald into custody before he could act on his vengeance which was why he freed Shadow with altered memories instead).Ivo`s father was a roboticist like Ivo himself and Maria`s was an archaeologist, ironically as Eggman Ivo would engage in both. Commander Walters` counterpart, Commander Abraham "Abe" Tower, was a childhood friend of Maria who like Shadow and his film counterpart mourned her loss and tried to reform GUN to be a less xenophobic organization than it started out as with mixed results. Also, Abe in the Games was far more adversarial towards Robotniks aside from Maria than his film counterpart and initially mistrusted Mobians like his film counterpart though again for different reasons as I`ve already explained. Also, Shadow due to his links with Black Doom and his Black Arms Empire is the only Mobian confirmed to be of extraterrestrial origin in the Games and Comics, whilst in the Films all Mobians are extraterrestrials and subjected to government mistrust as a result. Gerald also became a lot more twisted and vengeful towards the end of his life in the Games, even editing Shadow`s memories of Maria to make him as vengeful and hateful of humanity as Gerald himself became.
