This is a great series! Aneesa (the creator of The Rise of Bangtan) shared that she has been working on this series (her labor of love) for over 3 years! She is taking viewer on a journey step-by-step from BTS' perspective not looking back on their days but living through them (with them). She edits their content to allow BTS to speak their thoughts, through their experiences at the time because BTS has been documenting themselves since BEFORE their debut, so there is A LOT of material to edit down to tell their story! She also gives an overview of the KPop history for those who are not familiar with the industry. She uses clips from different video clips of other idols/ journalists interviews to try to give a broader perspective of the industry. Her skill as a professional video editor really shines through. Amazing work! I think many ARMY really like this series (besides it being extremely well made), she doesn't try to interpret what "she thinks" BTS is trying to say, she just shows the viewers exactly what they said and shared about what their thoughts were at the time. She is an "OG" KPop fan and BTS fan since pre-debut! She also shared that BTS has been the light in her darkness for many years now. *(Cr: "FY" on yt)* I think it's important to notice the differences between BTS' worries and the other trainees worries. BTS' were worried about their own personal skills (not dancing well enough, song worries, etc), about not getting attention when they debut due to their small company, not having money, etc. While the other trainees seem to be living in fear of being cut from the company at any moment if they make one mistake, worrying about weight quotas, etc. BTS stayed until late hours because they WANTED to, while the other trainees HAD to. Obviously BTS had things they had to do too, they could've not made it to debut as Jimin almost did due to short training, but instead of using that as a fear to hold over them Bighit seemed to use it to encourage them to work harder and improve themselves. BTS were allowed to make mistakes without worrying they'd be thrown out of the company. I'm very glad that they all signed with Bighit, and that Bighit has caused a shift in the Kpop industry, lots of newer companies are giving their groups more freedom and treating them better due to BTS' success. These companies see that idols don't need to be punished and forced to do things in order to succeed, BTS are proof that freedom and happiness should be the most important thing. *(Cr: "Shannon" on yt)* Now plz understand this 1st & 2nd episode shows two sides, one is typical k-pop system and how the labels/industry work, whereas subtle hints of BTS and bighit being contradictory different is shown, BTS is different from other K-pop groups and BigHit is different from other idol music companies. These first few episodes can be misleading because it makes you think BTS management follows these guidelines the other idol members from other companies are talking about, but BTS and BigHit don't do those things. Notice how when it is said idols don't have a lot of creative freedom, you see Namjoon and Yoongi writing lyrics, or when it says idols have phone bans or something, you see the BTS members on their phones, or how when idols say they aren't allowed to go outside the dorm, you see Yoongi walking around freely. It can be a confusing thing for new ARMY to make note of, but PLEASE notice these differences. It is vital to how BigHit runs differently, and therefore why BTS is so different from other idol groups from the very start. *(Cr: "Kayla Kulik" on yt)*

@@lorydannagr Having seen many many interviews/behind the scenes/lives over the past 10+ years, there were times when they dieted or their intake was tracked, but nothing compared to some of the other agencies... Not with what was released anyway... and they always seemed to be open and direct with what they said on the lives etc...(too much sometimes.. they are the kings of spoilers.... ) Jin once mentioned being 'scolded' for eating too much when he only had the chicken breast - that was after debut though..

Actually their debut was very successful, in fact they won 5 rookie of the year awards including 1 in China. If you watch/read any interviews from just after debut they were continuously asked what they thought of their sudden popularity, and they were even described as 'Monster Rookies'. They might not have been winning music show awards or charting #1s, but their debut was hardly a flop. RM actually describes their 1st 4 releases as a cycle of sweet (2 Cool 4 Skool - More Dreams) bitter (ORUL82? - N.O) sweet (Skool Luv Affair - Boy in Luv) and bitter (Dark & Wild - Danger).

@@Hbora0613 2021 Festa is the source for RM saying it was a cycle and described No More Dream as Sweet. Also in Beyond the Stars Bang PD says that there is the idea that they didn't do well from the start but that it isn't true, and Suga also said during one of those episodes that, "maybe we were just impatient". They had fandom growth and outsold all rookie groups that debuted in 2013.

This is as good as most documentaries in BTS. I hope you will watch it all. If someone sees my comment and knows the answer, can you please tell Lory the video that shows BTS’s contribution to the whole KPop industry… that shows BTS brings in more than 1/2 than all the rest of KPOP combined. BTS' contribution to KPop and the music industry has been mentioned a few times in Boracity Magazine's channel. The channel's creator is liked by a lot of us because of her "no holds barred" discussions and takes on the industry and anything that relates to BTS. But of course, the viewer must always watch videos like hers with a grain of salt as some of the facts and opinions presented in her channel may be "controversial" to some.. One of the videos that mentioned BTS's contribution to the industry is entitled "Why Most ARMYs don't like KPop". Personally, I really really like Boracity's videos and I also recommend her channel, as most of her videos are very enlightening. My faves are "BTS Moments for the History Books" and "Trends BTS has Created". Feel free to react to them (or not) in your own terms.😊 Here are the links to the ones I mentioned: "Why Most ARMYs don't like KPop" kzbin.info/www/bejne/pX2uomCmZ653eK8si=rj1k3u_0TyQQmfZZ "BTS Moments for the History Books" kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4e4fZl-idt1aqMsi=UPsu9lqX3IRa6cgg "Trends BTS has Created" kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoGsp2Wla8p4abssi=qMaxP2thcY9p8_ZS

So glad you discovered BTS. I found them a year ago and can't get enough. Definitely watch the 2019 and 2018 MMA performances if you haven't yet. Bookish theories has a two part explanation video of the 2019 performance that will blow your mind. You will also love buyterfly and butterfly prologue with the vocal line, the truth untold, we are bulletproof the eternal, blue and gray, mikrokosmos, film out, louder than bombs, house of cards, and so many more. I loved your reaction to fake love. It is one of my favorite BTS songs and the first song i ever heard from them and i fell down the rabbit hole immediately. That song is hauntingly beautiful. I like the heavy rap songs and the moody minor key songs like fake love and am less enamored by anything that sounds traditional pop. But have given some of those a pass for BTS just because it is BTS. I also love stray kids (second favorite korean artists), then taemin from shinee and then Ateez. I haven't really gotten into other groups. Songs, yes. Groups, no. Enjoy the journey.

In University (I studied English and Romanian. We would have to read 100 books per semester (2 semesters per year, 3 years). I would be reading and making notes for 3 books per night. The teachers were very difficult. I mean in the Oral exam they would ask how the book looks like and publisher, what is the picture on it, if there is any text on the back, and many more. Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. I Subbed a few days ago. =0] I like only one song from Big Bang. But i want to look into their ballads more. I may find more songs to like. =0] Did u know Taeyang collabed with Jimin the song is called Vibe. It's so good. Jimin is a huge fan. He was over the moon. There are behind scenes too and Taeyang was interviewed on Suga's drinking YT show Suchwita. He is married and has a little girl. he still hot at his age. I hope BTS finds someone for them like he did. I am not a fan of bang bang bang. Shrugs. So glad u started this series. Aneesa the creator of this docu series is an editor. It took her 4 yrs of research to create 20 plus chapters. Many army don't want this series to end. Aneesa has to do more research to tell the rest of BTS story. She sadly does not plan to do that no more. Aneesa is a full time editor in Disney now. She was a pro editor when she created this passion project of hers. I am glad u like her work. It took her 4 yrs to create 23 chapters. Sadly, she only published 21 of those. I hope she shares the others in the future if she can. The restaurant lady's place is famous to army. Army visit her place and its filled with BTS merch and pics. She makes good food. She still proud of the guys. She always believed in them and she was right. Joon was in underground like Suga meaning they were in the rap underground. They were rapping and battling. Hard core stuff. Pang PD is such a progressive thinker. I adore him. RM learned Eng by watching the TV show Friends. RM adores Nas a USA rapper. He listens to a lot of Western rap. Jimin was the last member to join. He was with them 6-8 months. He was almost cut 8 times. Poor guy. RM, Suga, Jin and JK i think trained for 3 yrs. V trained for 2. Excited to hear your thoughts on ch.2. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army💟 Zizi K. said on 6/23/21 Kpop is not a genre actually, it's an industry because groups can choose whatever genre they want. I know you can listen to like one or two songs from a singer or group and get the gist of their sound but with BTS, their discography is so varied that you need to listen to a variety of the music to get who they are. Rayna said on 1/29/22 The first thing to understand is, that "K-Pop" is not really just a genre, it's more a whole industry.. As SUGA (one of the BTS members) once said: "I’m a little careful to talk about K-pop as a genre, because I don’t want to be defining Kpop as a genre. I’m a little bit wary of that, but I think rather than approach Kpop as a genre, a better approach would be ‘integrated content.' K-pop includes not just the music, but the clothes, the makeup, the choreography…all these elements I think sort of amalgamate together in a visual and auditory content package, that I think sets it apart from other music or maybe other genres so again, as I said, rather than approach K-pop as it’s own genre I think approaching it as this integration of different content would be better.” BTS is more than just K-Pop. @aellerica6380 said on 7/19/23 A few comments. First off, when Jin said his parents weren’t around to take care of him he only meant that he was living with the members and not his parents. He was the baby in his family and then suddenly became the oldest of 7 Rise of Bangtan original channel had over 100k subscribers when it was pulled. The captions say this is an army edit, and yes Aneesa is army but the concept and execution and editing is all the work of one person, Aneesa. It was a project she actually started back in 2017 and aired the first episode on KZbin in January 2021. Each episode just gets better and better. There are also deleted scenes for episode 1 and 2 and then also bonus content starting episode 3 I’m super happy you were referred to this series because it is truly professional quality and Aneesa is a heck of a good story teller. I’m looking forward to the next part of your BTS journey 💜😃🇨🇦 @aellerica6380 said on 7/19/23 I found it. “But also, as Bangtan’s career continues to thrive, the more incomplete the series feels to me. I never expected it to reach so many people and, had I known it would grown so much, I might have added more explanation and clarity within the narrative. For these reasons I’ve decided that TRoB will no longer be available on this channel'. @tammarabg8174 said on 7/19/23 I am excited that you are doing this series. Aneesa put a lot of work into this project. She was a kpop fan before BTS debuted. She felt it was important to put in the history and talk about the big music companies training practices. She noticed BTS because they were different. Just a heads up on the ages. The members are giving you their Korean age. You need to subtract one or two years Most of the members were born September-December, so subtract two years. J-Hope and Suga were born in February and March respectively, so usually you can just subtract one year. Korean age is counted by years you have lived in, not by the sets of 365 days you have lived. V was born December 30 1995. That was the first year that he lived in, so he was one. Two days later, January 1st, 1996, that is the second year he lived in, so he was now two. When the boys debuted, Jin was 20 and JK was 15. @monicab968 said on 8/28/23 FYI, "auntie/aunt" is also an umbrella term that can reference any middle aged woman. So here, the restaurant owner is not their blood related aunt, but a middle aged woman who provides their meals. You will also see that after a certain age, you will respectfully be called grandma. @aishwaryaahirrao said on 8/28/23 This is a great series! (Cr: "Shannon" on yt) Now plz understand this 1st & 2nd episode shows two sides, one is typical k-pop system and how the labels/industry work, whereas subtle hints of BTS and bighit being contradictory different is shown, BTS is different from other K-pop groups and BigHit is different from other idol music companies. (Cr: "Kayla Kulik" on yt)

Just like what you like. Fandom or not. Who cares? I'm Army but it doesn't mean i don't listen to or watch other groups. That's just silly.

That is true. But there are crazy fans that want you to only like one group. It’s crazy. 🙈
