They are indeed sisters, have been a band since 2013 when the girls were 8, 11, and 13, but they really got started with a cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" when they were 9, 12, and 14. The cover went viral and currently has over 26M views. Now they write their own music and rarely do covers anymore, although they recently covered Alanis Morrisette's "You Oughta Know" for Sirius XM.

This song Evolve was from their Error album. Their latest album is Keep Me Fed and the band's favorite song to play live off that album is Automatic Sun. They have a live video of the song from Tecate Pal Norte which is the studio audio overlaid over their festival live performance. (They had to do that because the festival audio was ruined by the pyro and other bands playing nearby.) There is also a video of them playing it for the MTV EMA award show in the UK (but be careful because some reactors get their reactions blocked by MTV).

This concert was the gold standard for watching The Warning live... until they released the videos from their 2023 10th anniversary concert at the Pepsi Center. I highly recommend watching videos from that concert. Check out "Dust to Dust/Dull Knives" at the Pepsi Center. Two songs (Tracks 1 and 9) from their 2nd album, Queen of the Murder Scene, a concept album that tells the story of a young woman's descent from obsession to murder and ultimately madness. released in 2018 when guitarist Dany was 18, drummer Pau was 16, and bassist Ale was 13.

Unpopular opinion incoming. The Pepsi Center 10th anniversary concert may have been more special and meaningful, but in terms of listening to the music, there is way too much audience noise and participation to make it an enjoyable listen. IMO, the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert is still the gold standard for their live music. The Pepsi Center show had them showcase some music from their latest album. Keep Me Fed, so there's that at least.

Excellent 1st-time The Warning reaction Sophia and Cody! The Villarreal-Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE" (2018), is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD" (2017), is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND" (2015); and it is amazing. Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020. They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track! Their 4th studio album, KEEP ME FED was released June 28th, 2024. They have released 7 singles: "MORE", "SICK", "HELL YOU CALL A DREAM", "AUTOMATIC SUN", "BURNOUT", "QUE MAS QUIERES", and "SIX FEET DEEP". The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (recording engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English Bilingual school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. Shortly thereafter they got real instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Crazy they are 24, 22 and 20 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #57 original songs. They performed 2 songs at the 2023 MTV VMA's. Drummer Paulina writes around 75% of The Warning's songs. Most of her songs begin in rock ballad form; starting with a concept, then chord progression, melody and basic song structure on the piano. She may only have a verse and a chorus when she brings it before her sisters. Together they transpose each instrument's part and "rockify" the song. They complete any lyrics, bridges and any arranging, etc. making changes along the way. A 2/3 approval vote of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Paulina has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both guitarist Daniela and bassist Alejandra write equally great songs; just not as many. Drummer Paulina won Drumeo's 2023 Rock Drummer of the Year and won Best Up and Coming Artist in Modern Drummer Magazine's 2023 reader's poll. They performed AUTOMATIC SUN at the 2024 MTV EMA's (European) in Manchester, United Kingdom. 4 days later they performed QUE MA`S QUIERES at the 2024 LATIN GRAMMYS in Miami, Florida. Both performances highlighted songs that were nominated for an award. They were interviewed and performed 3 songs live on television in front of a large studio audience in France December 20th, 2024 on the Taratata show. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California, USA. I had the opportunity to meet with them 3 more times during the 10 shows I attended on their 2022 North American MAYDAY Tour and 2023 ERROR WORLD TOUR. I met them again at Fingerprints Music in Long Beach California for a CD signing on the day their new album KEEP ME FED was released (June 28th, 2024) and the morning after they performed live on the Jimmy Kimmel show. I saw them again October 8th and 9th, 2024 in Los Angeles with a meet-n-greet on the second night. Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans. They really shine live: even better than their studio recordings. 🗣 Subscribed! 🤘☺️❤

They blow the roof off with only three people. Their sound is incredibly full. The song is based on a Netflix documentary that Pau, the drummer, was watching on natural selection, and the question of whether humans are tampering with the natural process. This has been their closer for a while. Very high energy, but their entire catalog is high energy. They have no bad songs. Thanks, please checkout more of them, you’ll not be disappointed.

If you were to go watch some of their very early videos when they were just starting out, you would know that these Mexican sisters were not yet little bilingual Catholic school girls when they first got into music at summer camps. Mom's a dentist. Dad's an engineer. He used to run a recording studio. The girls grew up listening to their parents' rock favorites and watching concerts on TV. The kids all learned classical piano first, then discovered Rock Band, the video game. Suddenly, they were choosing instruments. Dany started guitar lessons at eight. Pau started drum lessons at six. Ale started bass at seven, a few years later, as she's the youngest. They were a great cover band as LITTLE KIDS. But they rarely do covers anymore. (A recent exception is a BRILLIANT cover of Alanis Morissette’s You Oughta Know, that they did at Sirius XM.) They are as good as, or better than the bands they covered! And in most cases, they are more fun to watch. Their first two albums were crowd-funded and independently produced! Before watching any more of their music, I'd suggest you watch their two TEDx Talks on the University of Nevada channel, from way back in 2016 and 2017. Perhaps also watch The Warning: The Mexican Rock Stars Who Happen To Be Sisters [TIDAL Rising Documentary] on the TIDAL channel. Maybe watch Mayday in the Making, parts 1-6. As much as you like it now, if you know who they are, and where they come from, their music will make a lot more sense. These ladies are now 20, 22, and 24. They sold out their Spring, '24 tour, 19 dates in Europe and the UK. They came back from Japan for a stint in L.A. and the launch of their new album, Keep Me Fed, on June 28. They performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live the night before. They were on MTV Push during July. Then they went on to Europe for festivals, Pol'and'Rock and Wacken Open Air, where they played before many tens of thousands of fans.They headed on to Canada, the USA, and other places this year. Most recently, they played at the MTV EMAs in England, and at the Latin Grammys, where they were nominated for their song, Que Mas Quieres. Currently recuperating and recharging at home, they have already sold out a 10,000 seat arena in Mexico City for two dates next February. Their superpowers are LIVE performance, music COMPOSITIONAL skills, LYRICAL depth, STAGE presence and charisma, and personal integrity. Welcome to a deep, deep, 11-year-old rabbit hole.

Great reaction from both of you and I'm excited to know that if you keep reacting to more of this power trio's material they will soon be your favorite band too, inevitably!! That's for sure... That's the warning!! Because as you get to know TW better you discover that their music is steeped in various rock styles but invariably it’s pure rock. And I continue to reaffirm my humble but very personal opinion that their structure, their cuts, transitions, rhythm changes, modulations, choruses, pre-choruses, drum attacks, their endings... All of it is masterful. The great beauty of their art is in its simplicity but all of this always seems to be at the right time and in the right way, bordering on perfection, with sophistication predominating. There could always be other options, but the ones they choose seem to be the exact ones to create a masterpiece of art. Also impregnating everything with a natural touch of inevitable sensuality that only adds improvements and with the feeling, sensitivity and passion of their blood, race and culture. Each of their pieces can be very different, but always with all the flavor of TW. It’s very clear that these sisters have no limits. They have that gift that only belongs to the geniuses that appear among us every certain period of time. This is the youngest veteran band in the world of rock!! Without forgetting that they are only three, yes, but three authentic geniuses in their specialization. Melodically they are the best, without a doubt, because they are the queens of the hook, the riff, the changes of tonality, the contagious rhythms, the catchy melodies, the sublime voices, the unbeatable harmonies and the ambiguous but deep and powerful messages. And this happens song after song… INCREDIBLE!! And all of the above is exponentially enhanced in each of their live performances. Individually there is also a lot of material to tell about the band, about this power-trio of sisters who are the new "masters of Rock": The Warning ⚡ For now I subscribe to your channel because I hope to see many more reactions and opinions from both of you about my favorite band of all time. Nice introduction to The Warning. They wrote this song after watching the Netflix documentary, “ Unnatural Selection” which questions the wisdom of directed evolution. Like many of their songs, they like to tackle the “ big” issues of our time: The pitfalls of Social media, Drug addiction, the dangers of blindly following others, even a cautionary tale about the rise of AI. Their most recent album ( Keep me Fed). Intentionally steps back a bit from the “ big picture” to a more personal take on things.

This song is usually their closer at concerts, because as you can imagine, it’s hard to top that scream. Pau sometimes invites the crowd to join in before the song starts, calling it therapeutic; it’s certainly that for her, because she always has her trademark grin on right afterwards.

So many reactors know nothing about The Warning, or have gotten wrong information about these ladies so this is a brief history of the band… and remember, The Warning is almost always better live than a music video or studio recording. You cannot get the passion and stage presence of a live performance from a music video. There are some exceptions but this is the general rule. The Warning is made up of 3 sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra Villerreal Velez. • They started early. Their parents loved all types of rock music and there was always music, or concert videos playing. They would spend Saturday evenings watching performances by Queen, AC/DC, Elton John, and many, many other bands. • In 2005 when Daniela was 5 years old and Paulina was 3, they were enrolled in music initiation classes- they loved it. Alejandra was only around 1 year old so she had to wait for her time but went through the same classes. • They all started classical piano lessons when they were between 6 and 7 years old. • In 2007 when Daniela was 7 years old their dad bought them the video game “Rock Band” and they completely fell in love with playing it. Dany played the guitar, Paulina was 5 and playing the drums, and Alejandra (being only 3 at the time) stood next to them and clapped along. They loved the aspect of performing on stage and dreamed of doing that. • In 2008 their dad asked Daniela if she wanted to learn another instrument (along with the piano). She chose the guitar. Around the same time Paulina chose the drums (she was 6). At that time Ale’ was still too young but when she turned 6, she wanted to play the bass but had to wait until she was 7 to be big enough to hold and play it. They then realized they could play those 3 instruments together and they began playing as a band. • In 2014 they were playing in their basement studio that their dad made (selling his Harley Davidson motorcycle to afford it) and decided to make a video for their grandparents to see how far they had progressed. The file was too big to just email so dad uploaded the video onto KZbin and sent the grandparents the link. The video went viral and was seen by millions (well over 25 million to date) include Metallica. Kurt Hammet shouted out Paulina on the drums. Here is the 2014 Metallica Enter Sandman cover from their basement studio affectionately called “The Warning Cave”. They were 14, 12, and 9 years old: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5PShox4brF5gLs • Another person who saw that video was Ellen DeGeneres and in 2015 the girls made their US debut on the Ellen show. The girls wanted to go to the prestigious Burklee College of Music to learn musical theory and more and were trying to raise the money to do so. Ellen heard this and when they were on the show, she (and Target) presented each of the girls with a check for $10,000 so they could attend. • Because Alejandra was only 10 years (well below the minimum age to attend) they sent in an audition tape to show she was capable of handling the music and classes. Here is that audition tape of them playing Muse’s Hysteria at a school “end of school year party”. This is a bass intense song. Pau sings lead on about 25% of the songs (either while drumming, or while at the keyboard, or just out front). Ale’ is a little shy about singing lead but steps in and sings lead when needed. All 3 can literally jump in and sing lead on any song if needed (with no drop-off in quality) and their harmonies in songs are simply amazing. • They have all given master classes on their instruments, and song writing, and performing (even at as young as 18 years old). • In 2015 they released an EP called Escape the Mind. It was a mix of different genres as they sorted out their musical style. • They released their first album in 2017 called XXI Century Blood (21st Century Blood). • They released their second album in 2018 called Queen of the Murder Scene. It was a concept album telling the story of a young woman’s journey from desire, to love, to infatuation, to obsession, to psychotic, to murder, to remorse, and finally to suicide. It was an amazing album and was up for, and won, several Independent Music awards in 2019. • In 2021 Metallica asked 53 artists to take any of the 12 iconic songs from their Black album and do a cover (any way they wanted to) for their Black List album, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Black album. Alessia Cara (Canadian pop star) was asked to participate but had no idea what to do. Because she shares the same management group as The Warning, she contacted them for help. It was difficult to do as Alessia was in Canada and The Warning were in Mexico and travel with COVID was not happening. They made it work and developed/recorded this completely re-imagined song in one week. They created the music video with the same logistical restrictions. Because of that you will see that Alessia appears as a projection on the wall in the video as she was not there. It was recorded in an abandoned textile mill outside of Monterrey, Mexico. It was done in 2020 but sat because they could not release or tour with it because of Covid. • While touring in 2022 they opened for The Pretty Wreckless and Hailstorm. Lzzy Hale was so taken by the band and in particular Daniela that she presented Dany with a special Gibson Explorer guitar on stage mid-concert. There are videos out there of this and Lzzy does not shy away from telling this story. • Here is a 2022 professionally shot concert to give you an idea of their skills, their power, their stage presence, and their writing abilities. The Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert was their most important concert to date, as they were playing in Mexico’s most prestigious theater, and they were the only act. The 2-night event was sold out and they just killed it! The actual concert starts at around the 2:00 minute mark and it is timestamped so you can see each song title. Muse was so taken by The Warning’s performances that they asked them after the 4th show to go to Europe and do 5 more shows with them! Matt Bellamy was so taken with Daniela that he presented her with a one-of-a-kind Manson guitar. • In 2023 they were invited to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards. They were the only band to perform that was not up for some type of award. According to Lalo, sound engineer of The Warning, the crowd was at about 50.000 people when they started playing at about midnight. Hearing the first songs, people that have already gone to bed, returnend from their tents and RVs to joyn the party again. You can see at least one person in night gown and wrapped in a blanket. Soon they were about 70.000 to possibly 80.000 people. The Warning are likely to be invited again to this festival due to this great success They also have been instantly invited again to the festivals "Rock im Park" and "Rock am Ring".

These young ladies are so talented it’s unreal, they write their own songs and very rarely make covers anymore, though they recently covered Alanis Morissette’s song You oughta know and made an amazingly good job of it! There are two ways you could go from here if you want to see and hear more; either trace them back to their roots - Enter Sandman - Metallica from 2014 now 26 million+ views plus their latest version (which is on the Blacklist album #1 track) form the Pepsi center CDMX, an amazing pair of contrasting performances; or Dust to Dust / Dull knives (cut better) from the Pepsi center CDMX two songs together with an amazing bridge! Either way you’re in for a treat!

The Warning are my addiction. Literally, every song is epic. Hell You Call A Dream is a great new song or Dull Knives for an older one. On stage is always best. Another band that will take you on a roller coaster is Jinjer. Pisces live session is the usual starting point or Perennial at Wacken for an onstage performance.

It is kind of hard to believe even seeing it in person how big their sound is. And clear (their sound mix is incredible and the guy Lalo is a magician). If you want some recent songs that emphasize their full sound, Dust to Dust/Dull Knives at the Pepsi Center or Disciple at either Teatro or Pepsi Center are great examples. For older works, a couple covers from way back that might be interesting: The Pretender performed on a hillside, or Atlas Rise covered at The Whiskey bar show how they can fill the soundscape with just their sibling magic.

These three young ladies are something else. I affirm @The_Dude-13's assertion that the best version of this tune is the 2023 MTV VMA performance (by a wide margin). Next level. Worth doing an addition reaction, but if you don't, you should check it out personally. They performed More and Evolve and blew the roof off the MTV studio. If you watch it, watch More first.
