The statues are mostly memorials. They honour important historical events or people.

3:29 is the building that is used as Leipzigs town hall. The one after is the memorial of the battle of nations (final battle bewteen mainly Napoleon against Prussia, Russia, Sweden and Austria). When you stand directly infront of it, it is so much bigger than it looks from a far.

Hello, you both are very sympathetic. I suspect the person on the right is better off in the UK or France. The person on the left is sympathetic to Germany and can certainly feel very comfortable in Germany. Think about it. Thank you!

At 13:02: It is highly unlikely you will find a petrol station on the island of Helgoland because the whole island is a car free zone. Bikes and scooter are prohibited too. The only exception are ambulance, police and some material transports (which use electric cars).

12:40 Helgoland is Germany's only island in higher sea. You can reach it by ferry from Hamburg. I think only 2 times a day. The ride takes around 3 hours. My friend and I plan to go there for the first time this year. Not gonna lie, I am a little bit scared by the 3 hour ship ride.

I'm not intending to scare you any further, but if the sea is particularly rough that day, be prepared for people puking all over the place 😂 Better bring some sickness medication

Many statues are of famous nobles/military people from the area. Sometimes they are represented as mythological beings (e.g. Greek demigods or gods/German mythology demigods). This video is IMHO nice but doesn´t explains a lot. There are some channels that do a better job at explaining history and therefore also statues/castles/ cathedrals etc. PS: Bücher means books. Many shops in the walk-only historical city center put out those signs for people to see what they offer.
