i think bighit made their concepts "cute" or "bright" during their debut to prevent the haters from saying that they're copying bts. their ages ranged from 1999-2002, they're literally kids and that was 2019. i think it's age appropriate. bighit was targeting a certain audience. i found it cringey too since i came from stanning bts, but it didn't matter as long as the song is a bop (like how i accepted bts no more dream's concept because the song was a bop). bighit really tried their best to create a concept that will make txt different from bts. i did expect it to happen cuz even when txt weren't still debuting a lot of people are already hating on the group.
