Lyrics: Just Bono. Actually just saw them last Wednesday and Friday at The Sphere in Vegas. Lady Gaga was a nice cameo on-stage, and the visuals were unreal

I went to the Joshua Tree concert in 1987 at the LA Sports Arena and I was on the floor, 4th row from the stage! I could feel Bono's sweat hitting me.

I think this is my favorite song ever. The video was filmed during the Joshua Tree tour. On that day (1987 April 12) they've played in Las Vegas. If I am correct they shot the video after that concert. It seems so casual (just walking around the street, hanging out with strangers) and that is why it is so good.

The thing about this song is that it’s a gospel number disguised as a rock tune. One of the producers they worked with on this album has a great affinity for that kind of music, and the lyrics are very spiritual. U2 even performed this song live with a full gospel choir.

Well, it was kind of alternative rock at the time in the late ‘80s. Then U2 became more mainstream during the ‘90s.

One of the greatest rock bands ever!! At their heyday, U2 had been accused of being too earnest and too righteous, well, they didn't write about whose not-dry cat they are gonna hump for sure, lol.. their music is classic but also timeless you know? their views on the world and their activism and advocacy on some issues lent a hand on their music as well. I just discovered your channel but will be looking forward to more reactions esp U2. Thanks!

I bulievevthe lyrical inspiration for yhis song the biblical story of Saul's conversion to the ApostlePaul on the road to Damascus. "You broke my bonds, carry the cross and all my shame", the belief in this act is the key element to his onversion into Paul- "...you know i believe it". U2 Bad- live would be a great into for you to their live performances.

I'm glad that you enjoy U2 because they are one of my all time favorite bands. U2 have many great songs with great lyrics. Their videos are also very unique. I would suggest reacting to one of their live performances to see a different side of them. I would recommend Where The Streets have No Name performed live on a rooftop in Los Angeles.

They write and perform all their songs, with the exception of the odd cover they've done over the years. Honestly, that's the way most bands operate. A "boy band" is something entirely different.

They have so much great music, starting at the beginning of the 80's up to still making music today. The list of songs to try is just far too long, but since you've started with this and Pride, maybe go with those two albums to start (Joshua Tree and Unforgettable Fire). Not all of them have music videos, but all the songs on both albums are incredible and you can find the audio only videos on KZbin too. Bono, the lead singer, writes most of their lyrics with a few exceptions :)

Luv, they aren't a "boy" band. They are a rock band, same 4 members since 1976. They write the song, Bono, lead singer write the words. Tiu might want to read up on the history.
