@@snouthlly1479 josee is better for its story, weathering with you takes the cake for animation and quality tho. also theres THOUSANDS of anime movies.. ahahha so idk why your so shocked. i have about 100+ anime movies on my imdb watchlist id say

Violet Evergarden the Movie Princess Mononoke Your name A silent voice I want to eat your pancreas Castle in the Sky Howls moving castle The Garden or Words The Secret world of Ariety (idk if this ones right) Nausica and the valley of the wind Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust Madoka Magica (the 3rd movie, as the first 2 are recaps of s1 eps 1-12) anyway theres a bunch more that im sure you remembered reading this.. im not the nest with memory of names.. but considering im 19 and watch movies regularly and have done so for over 10 years.. yeah that adds up.

@@elismart13 Alright. I have a bit of time left to do so, so I’m just gonna quickly feed you my thoughts and questions-what is your definition of ‘special’? Because, as I see it, Spirited Away did an absolutely amazing job at being unique and making the viewers feel all kinds of emotions while simultaneously teaching its audience important morals-especially when it comes to the influence of greed and the significant impact it can have on you and also other people, Chihiro being the victim of her parents’ greed. The music is hauntingly beautiful, making you feel something that you can’t quite place your finger upon but gives you that warm, happy feeling which leaves you in a state of contendedness (more so referring to Inochi no Namae). The cast of characters are lovely, Haku and Chihiro being the most memorable. The mental struggle that Chihiro goes through makes you deeply sympathise with her and feel for her when watching her sometimes break down and feel troubled, lonely, responsible and even probably unprotected at times-she does try and brave through it, but she does also display a ton of vulnerability that people could definitely relate to. It’s an unrealistic movie, but it is also breathtakingly fascinating and wonderful. Very much relatively special in comparison to the other greats.

I like this more than Your Name, Your Name is too "mainstream" while this movie is just a good story without trying to please people who watch it with any fanservice or "death-drama"(yes, "death-drama" is an absolute mainstream thing) Also I like the colors of the movie here more than in Your Name and even more than in Silent Voice, I just love the "rainy vibe" and the way they show "sunshine"

It's amazing how many anime have genuinely got me in the feels and it's almost exclusively anime that has made me care or feel so much for fictional characters. The only western show that has done this is one scene from season 1 of "Travelers". There was an episode or two of "Rizzoli & Isles" that got me too, but that was because they were after one of the actors committed Sue Aside. They had to work around it in the show (with his character dying for whatever reason) and there was lots of legit tears from the whole cast.

You must try ' Garden of Words' , ' Susume ' and then ' 5cm per seconds' all of them was created by Shinkai Makoto, who made ' Your name' as well.

alot of people watched this movie close minded cause they where bias of your name being shinkais best film i was one of them at first when movie ended i was like this is an amazing movie not your name though but after rewatching with an open mind again the part where hodaka was pointing a gun at them then he shoots then 10 seconds of silence hits then "is there anything love can do"

Please watch other Sinkai movies as well! The short ones are as emotional as longer stories. Garden of words is still my favorite one by him! Also, you need to do a Satoshi Kon run. 5 movies for 5 weeks! (with Magnetic rose)
