SO excited for you to get into them - this is their first official mini (they debuted with a single, Happy Death Day) and it's so fucking good. Def listen to both, with a lot of the other songs they have in their discog, I think you'll feel the pop punk/grunge influence way more. But yeah, the idea with xdz was to have more of a "kpop" band not so much in sound but in terms of styling/promotion etc than jyp previously did w day6, also as a way to differentiate the two bands. Most of their style/genre is not a "usual" musical style that's heavily popular with the general public, so before the mini dropped I spent 7 months worried jyp was gonna put out a complete tonal shift with their first album and it'd be heavily pop-y lol 😅 which I love outside the context of XDZ, I just appreciate that their identity as a band is firmly planted in kpop but with a genre OUTSIDE of kpop (pop punk/alt) that I've had so much love for since I was a preteen lmao. Funnily enough too, only two of them initially trained to be idols, which I've always been fascinated by (Jungsu, the singer/keyboardist you kept pointing out and O.de, keys/synths who rapped). Hello, world! is easily one of my fave albums this year, and one of my fave debuts (again, official debut single *aside*) in years. They are doing something so fun and new in kpop imo, and it really appeals to me as an elder emo 💀 for sure watch their performance stages (each one has its own vid). They also have an official performance mv for Strawberry Cake. Would also HEAVILY recommend their covers. It's how they've been steadily gaining more attention aside from their original stuff, and how they kept us fed with just a single the last like seven months before Hello, world! lol. Not a single bad cover, and the most popular is definitely SKZ's Hellevator, which I would save for last haha. For album reactions that's easy for you to search but as far as covers: Nothing But Thieves' Impossible, Bring Me The Horizon's Drown (the elder emo in me was SCREAMING when this one came out lol), Day6's I'm Serious, and they recently did another short medley on Weekly Idol of their song Knock Down, Royal Blood's Trouble's Coming (!!!) and Day6's Time Of Our Life. The last two they put out were Day6's Zombie and SKZ's Hellevator. Hellevator is my fave cover after Drown - Gunil, their drummer, also rearranged Hellevator himself which is INSANE to know once you listen to it!!!) Anyway sorry for the essay 💀💀💀 I just love them and think they're such great talented kids and remind me so much of how fun it was to watch my friends alt bands play in hs lol. Wow, I really liked your reaction it's so good. And I am so happy to see your reaction to my favourite group) you called the name correctly "Xdinary heroes" it's came from Extraordinary heroes, but they wanna say that all people can be heroes, even the ordinary one. The fandom is called Villains (and I love the name so much), bcs there are no heroes without villains, and that text in the beginning: "If u rig a rigged system, r u a villain or a hero?" Also hints to the fact that sometimes even villains can be heroes from different perspectives) so about the group: Xdinary heroes is an idol band, not just k-rock band as Day6, which means, they will look like idols (kpop artists) with colored hair, cool outfits and incredible visuals. Fun fact: they even have choreo for Test me))))) and that's cute. Bcs only two members learned how to dance, but the other members did well too, they are adorable. Their debut single was very unique, check it out, it's called Happy death day) Then I highly recommend you to react to Strawberry cake MV. This song is incredible. The vocals are insane. These guys have very high range of vocals and very distinctive tones. And you are right, all the members have very unique distinctive personalities, you can easily learn them. Their album is a masterpiece. All the b-sides are bangers: Strawberry cake, Knock down, Sucker punch and Pirates. The lyrics are very dope too. Their live vocals are perfect too, btw. They are very impressive. Two guys are very good in rapping. They covered Stray kids' Hellevator and nailed the rap parts. You HAVE to listen to their b-sides and live clips. Their album, Hello World, is a no skip album fs. You should also try checking out their cover of Drown, Impossible and Zombie.
