The reason their music has a lot of AAVE (African American Vernacular English) is because the group's CEO/Founder/Producer/Manager Simon has personally went to Atlanta and worked with Black American producers, engineers, and songwriters for XG's music.... however - the girls are so talented and multilingual that they are able to write their own verses in Japanese, Korean, and English these days. Cocona's cypher went viraaallll.

Also, Hip-hop and Streetwear culture are popular in Japan. If you grew up listening to American Rap and R&B a lot of urban vernacular will be very common to you. Suga and Jhope for example, not fluent in English but very fluent in American Hip-hop culture. The same thing goes for XG. EDIT- 1) The Suga and Jhope mention is not that deep lol. If you grew up on American Rap like * insert whoever you want* a lot of urban vernacular will be common to you. Very simple. 2) My main point is that even with the Black American songwriters, or the kpop industry influence, this is still stuff that they'd be familiar with, vernacular included. 3) It should be common knowledge that Hip-hop was created by Black Americans. When I say American culture, I'm referring to the consumption of the art form

It's the rap line (Cocona, Maya, Harvey, Jurin) doing rap covers (using pre-existing beats with their own lyrics, i mean BARS, in 3 languages, English, Korean, Japanese). Tape #1 - Chill Bill Tape #2 - Galz Xypher (Surround Sound, Down Bad, I Won, Saoko) - this one went viral, especially Cocona's verse Tape #3-A - Two Tens Tape #3-B - Nothin' They have some original raps too: Show You Can (feat. GRL GVNG has a full version, just check the audio version it's really good!!!!! Also, check out their XG TAPE and Cyphers and their introduction video. You should also listen to their song "Left Right" (also the version with Ciara and Jackson), "TGIF" and "Hesonoo" with "X-GENE" from their first album New DNA. They also have a documentary about how the group was trained and formed with other trainees available on their KZbin channel if u want to. XG is definitely one of my top girl groups. My fave song from them might be TGIF. The other girl groups I really like are NewJeans and IVE. Blackpink of course. And I have a super soft spot for NMIXX- while I prefer their old chaotic sound more so than their newer, I love the members themselves.

Girl GVNG does have an extended version! You could watch the dance practice or a lyric video, where you can hear the full song! Definitely react to their XG tape 1 with 2 of the rappers, XG tape 2 (cypher) with all of their rappers, XG tape 3-A with 2 of the rappers, XG tape 3-B with the other two! Their vocalists are all also very good. From their other songs, Left Right is an RnB banger, TGIF is a very camp house or vogue-type beat. Absolutely all of their dance practices are worth checking out, they are incredible dancers! About their concept: they are aliens and explore different planets, in New Dance they visited earth, hence the very "normal" music video.
