I grew up in this era. We didn't take the music and culture for granted but it never occurred to us that it wouldn't last forever. In hindsight, this was the tail end of a multi-decade long era; a golden era in music 1940-1990. We knew music would change but thought it would just morph into something equally good ..... but it didn't. I feel very fortunate to have come of age in the 70s/80s.

What great music came out in 1940....what great powerful music came out before rock n roll? If you said 55-90 I would buy it but music was shit before rock n roll
@stevegraham38174 ай бұрын
@@emptyemptiness8372 The mid 40s is when the real/original R&B music started to get converted to rock with heavier sustained notes and bent strings by the likes of Chuck Berry, John Lee Hooker, and BB King, as the Boogie Woogies, B Bops, Gospel and Blue Grass was getting pushed aside in New Orleans, the mid 40s to mid 50s were more of a Rocking Blues era. Not exactly Rock, not exactly Blues. I would start Rock and Roll a couple of years earlier in the 50s, and add a couple of extra years in the 90s until it briefly changed to Grunge which only lasted 5 years and completely destroyed R&R as we loved it and for some strange reason it completely disappeared for the last 20 years, somehow replaced by Swift, Miley, Kylie, Diddy, M&M, Bieber, and all sorts of other manufactured no talent rubbish. Thank god Rock is being rediscovered, but will it ever go back to the glory days? I really hope it does.

The one thing that people either don't know or frequently forget is that AC/DC is, like Aerosmith, a blues band. Yeah, they've got everything cranked up to 15, the drums hit harder, the guitars scream louder, and there's more gravel in the singer's voice (regardless of which singer it is), but music is just down and dirty, nitty gritty blues.
@JokerInk-CustomBuilds5 ай бұрын
AC/DC is Rock Legends. Angus could play the guitar falling down stairs and Brian sounds like he gurgles motoroil before bed! -Try reacting to Airbourne from Australia aswell if you wanna see something similar but a bit faster paced. They are ready to carry the torch when AC/DC closes the show.

The bell that they ordered for the tour of this album, Back in Black, is a fittingly sized 13 ton church bell made especially for them by bell-makers in London, England. The bell is the largest musical instrument ever used in a rock concert, and has become a staple and icon of the AC/DC tour. The bell rings an iconic 13 times in the song, with the feeling of the song meant as a hard rock send off for their lost brother Bon Scott. RIP Bon! Your music has NEVER died!

Dude, I saw them for the first time in 1987 at the Capital Centre outside Washington DC. The whole joint went pitch black for a few seconds, and then all you heard was.... BONG.............. BONG............. and then this plexiglas tube filled with yellow lit-up smoke had come up out of the front of the stage. The giant cast iron Hell's Bell came rising up through the tube. At that moment I became a lifetime hardcore fan of The Boys. I saw them a few years later with my best friend at the Garden State Arts Center in NJ. As they always do, they closed the show with For Those About To Rock. At the guitar solo in the middle, these 3 giant battleship guns rose out of the front of the stage and angled out over the crowd. It got to the moment where it gets to "FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK......" with Brian Johnson singing...... ......FIRE! and these 3 guns go off with a flash, smoke rings, and a shock wave that knocked the whole crowd a step back. I ain't never seen anything it before that or since. Good times.
