@@locklann55 no shes not. there is no scientific proof for that. she never said she was. it might sound like she was here and there, but those are only pre-recorded adlibs to her songs when shes performing live. she is a dramatic contralto combined with tessitura...which is fantastic and unique by itself. while some amateur `at home specialists` might say she was poly, theres no scientific evidence to back it up :)

Diana is polyphonic...gotta listen to more of her music. Her voice is so complex it almost sounds synthetic at times. Diana still a teenager and has been known as the Queen of goosebumps for half a decade now. Her work at 14-15 years old would blow you away (Listen to Wicked Game). Diana is currently 18 and attending The Russian Institute of Theatre Arts in Moscow. She's incredibly unique and a true one of a kind voice.

Here are three reasons why Diana doesn't sound human. First, she is a dramatic contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in seven billion.

I agree with everything you said except for one point. Dramatic contralto has a very specific definition and usually only applied to opera singers. Since opera is performed live on stage without mikes or amplification, a dramatic contralto has to be able to project her voice with power across her whole range in order to be heard over the orchestra. I have only heard her sing with a mike. Female singers aren't considered mature till they reach their late 20s or mid 30s and I hope by then she will become a full dramatic contralto. Just my opinion.

All voices - in fact almost all sounds are polyphonic. The polyphony is how we differentiate voices from each other -the unique overtones in each. Diana's voice - naturally or through practice - just separates the tones more than most and many people don't hear it unless they know how to listen for it. However she does it, her voice gives me chills every time I hear it.

Насчет вокала я понимаю так, что анатомическая особенность голосового аппарата Дианы плюс огромный труд позволили достичь нынешних результатов. Мне не понятно вот что. Есть видео (на канале Дианы) "Бабушка пирата". Это не песня, это спектакль. Там есть такая реакция (примерно) - "много лет занимаюсь с детьми (сценическое искусство, хореография), такому научить к 12 годам ребенка не возможно, многие артисты и к 30 годам так не могут". Если вокал как-то можно объяснить, то как объяснить очень высокий уровень артистизма в таком возрасте. Подпишусь.

Diana is a very extremely rare contralto which is the lowest form of the female singing voice and she has an extended range. Diana is a contralto - different voice coaches have suggested part of her gift is her unique vocal anatomy [ a larger larynx, pharynx than is normal ] The deaf person comparison wasn't politically correct or emotionally poignant, sensitive or profound - not everything a person thinks is worth saying. Diana was abused and went through so much as a child & young teen - I think part of the pathos of her life may have become part of her vocal instrument. She is a phenomenon - hopefully, she will receive the emotional & loving support she deserves as a young person growing into adulthood.

The arrangement of the song was the essence of it transmuted into a mystical elixir. Diana does have polyphonic capability. Honestly, the first time I heard Diana, I was having trouble trying to comprehend what I was hearing (Wicked Game). I have never heard anything like it... ever. I'm used to her voice now, and it always feels like some raw elemental force has me in it's grip. I still get shivers and I've heard her sing quite a bit now. BTW, this is an awesome show where the judges are, in part, also contestants. This was, I believe, their first performance and it was apparent that some of them had not heard Diana before and weren't prepared for her performance. If you love music and can find videos of the entire show, it is well worth watching.

At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment. Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. She has grown up with a unique instrument and learning to use all of it is her early life. This is Diana the Cinderella girl getting Fantasy Diva at 18 and scaring🤯 the bejesus out the opposition all the other judges who had gone on before her ...try her doing Rechenka or Wicked Game at 14/15Yrs old. Yes its pure 5th element and the set was Avatars planet Pandora at night. 🎆😎 You need to check her personal history... but in puberty she lost her upper range this was her opening salvo💥 and way of showing. Normally shes a Shamanistic Princess .... but shes a natural performer... and had to try different styles for this competition.

Welcome to the extraordinary sound of Diana Ankudinova! To those that don’t know, Diana Ankudinova was only 18 years old when this performance took place during the 2021 season of a Russian vocal competition called the "ShowMaskGoOn". This cover of the Elvis Presley classic "Can't Help Falling In Love" now belongs to Diana and it demonstrates Diana Ankudinova’s true contralto sound. A contralto is the lowest female voice type and is very, very rare. First, to answer a very common question about Diana's vocal range. In 2017, her range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5. As of September 2021, her functional range was measured from a low of C3 to a high of B♭5. But, it's not just how low she can go, it's the quality of her tone in her lower range. It's also her timbre, the roundness, the fullness, and the depth of her voice, along with her ability to create and access an enormous amount of resonance that further define Diana as a "dramatic contralto" voice type, which is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types. A lot of Diana’s ability has been attributed to her just being born with vocal anatomy that is unique. Her vocal folds appear to be longer and thicker than most female singers, and her vocal track is longer which gives her the ability to produce such deep, rich sounds. Diana is also a true polyphonic singer which in itself is also rare. What is a polyphonic singer? A polyphonic singer is defined as a singer who has mastered a vocal technique that creates two different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones and undertones that make it sound like two different voices at the same time. This polyphonic sound is why some people mistakenly believe Diana Ankudinova is using auto-tune, a voice synthesizer, a vocoder or pitch correction software, or some other artificial form of electronic voice manipulation to alter or adjust her sound. Others think another person is singing off stage in the background, or she is lip-syncing over a previously recorded vocal track. There is no artificial manipulating of any kind going on at all. This is a very prestigious vocal competition and Diana Ankudinova is required to use the equipment provided for her to use. There was no opportunity for her to bring in, let alone setup, calibrate and test any extra electronic vocal manipulating equipment. What you are hearing is all Diana Ankudinova. Female singers usually don't reach full vocal maturity until they are somewhere around 24 to 28 years old; some reach it sooner, others, later. I am looking forward to what Diana will sound like when she does reach her full vocal maturity. When she does she will have had many more years of voice training with her voice teacher in addition to more years honing her on-stage performance skills. When that day happens, there will be no doubt that Diana Ankudinova will be a wonder to behold on stage and a vocal force to be reckoned with. Diana started taking part in this “ ShowMaskGoOn on” vocal competition in September of 2021. The judges were a panel of nine professional singers that compete against each other and also award judging points to each other. The judge on the top row that stands up first is the famous Russian opera singer from Baku, Azerbaijan Yusif Eyvazov. He is well known in Russia, and the blond woman in the red dress that stands and looks shocked at the end of Diana's performance and puts both hands on the top of her head in what looks like total disbelief also knowing she has to compete against Diana Ankudinova. Finally, Diana won this competition.

Do 'Rechenka' next...it is a song about an orphan girl (Diana?), without father or mother, who goes to the sacred river to find them, speak to them, and seek their approval for her marriage.
