This was one of Eddie's biggest hits and was all over the radio back then. He was very popular in the mid 80's to the early 90's. He could also still draw big crowds long after the hits stopped. Check out "Walk on Water" and "Shakin'". Another song he was well known for was "Two Tickets to Paradise." He also had a good sense of humor. I saw him in concert once and, as he introduced this song, he said "This next song made me a million dollars......... which I somehow misplaced."

It wasn't exactly a sample. Ronnie recorded her vocals specifically for this song, as opposed to Money taking samples from the original song. It is very similar though. You should listen to Be My Baby by the Ronnettes to hear the original.

Eddie went to the same HS as me 2 years behind Island trees HS in Levittown Ny and Billy Joel also lived close by in the nest town but in a Levitt house just like the rest of us back then.
