Hey all! Just wanted to apologise for the technical difficulties we had with the music video not always playing smoothly. Please use the link in the description to watch the official music video as the band intended. This band is truly awesome and heaps of fun! We hope you enjoy the episode despite the tech issues. Again, thank you for your time! We appreciate the support! Much love! 🙏♥

Gacharic Spin is really a strange, marvelous and funny band. They defy any category. You can hear one theme of them and think "oh... that´s is how it´s this band", and you´re worng. With other bands, you hear one or two song and have an idea of the style you can espect from them. Not with Gacharic Spin. You can hear maybe half a docen of their themes, and in the next they hit in four face with something completely different. They have not one vocalist, they have now 4 vocalist. The girl with the pink hair is a new adition to the band, but in a lot of themes the drummer (Hana) also sings. Now Hana is playing guitar and have a new drummer. Why?... because she gor bored of drums and want to play other things. This girl is a monster, she plays about 10 instruments. In other songs, the keyboard player Oreo is the singer (she is nuts), their themes are really fun and happy. The guitar player Tomo-Zo also can sing in other themes. Sometimes they changue vocals along the song alternating, they can go for a pop vibe, a jazz, even metal growls. Then you find one theme with bossanova feel... they are crazy And if the musical video looks energetic, their live performance have an incredible energy level. They are crazy on stage. Oh, and yes, their themes have a strong bass line, because the band was founded by the bass (Koga F Chooper) and the drummer (Hana) They are probably the most original band that has produced Japan is the last decades. I´m not saying "their are better than XXX or YYY", they are different, really different of anything you ever see from Japan. Oh, i almost forget. They also have been in the metal scene. They do for a few time a metal band with Fuki From Unlucky Mortheus, and they were... incredible, as always. The band was Doll$Box

I am very happy that y'all enjoyed this song and the band. Gacharic Spin was formed in 2009 by the bassist Michiko Koga (goes by the great name of F Chopper Koga) and the drummer/guitarist Hana Sano (she was on drums in the video). The guitarist Tomoko Midorikawa (goes by Tomo-zo) joined very soon. The keyboardist Reona Suzuki (goes by Oreo Reona) joined in 2012 and she might be the craziest in a band known for being crazy. I call these the "core four" of Gacharic Spin. For a good part of the band's existence, they have had trouble with finding a permanent vocalist and in finding their identity as a band. Finally in early 2019, they made two important decisions. They decided they wanted Hana up front on guitar instead of in the back on drums and added Yuri to play drums. They also added a 17 year old vocalist who goes by the name Angelina 1/3 because she is part Japanese, Spanish and Filipino. Koga discovered her at a high school talent show. Angie had only recently focused on her singing having been more of a high school athlete (basketball). Koga brought Angie in for an audition and won the approval of the rest of the core four, particularly Hana whose approval was the most important. I believe that with these six members, Gacharic Spin has finally found stability and their identity. Based on some recent videos of live performances, they might put on the most entertaining shows of any of my favorite Japanese bands. They all are world class musicians and have great stage presence but Angie, now 21, is a force of nature. Edit: Just wanted to mention that out of all the Japanese bands I have discovered in the last 3+ years, three artists have really stood out. Two of them are Kanami of Band-Maid and Miyako of Lovebites because they are wonderful musicians and, more importantly, world class composers. The third is Hana of Gacharic Spin. She is a true multi-instrumentalist that can play bass, drums and guitar at a very high level. She is also a gifted vocalist who can sing clean, as you heard, and she is good at harsh vocals as well. I consider her the Dave Grohl of Japan.

No worries about the instrument destruction. I read somewhere that they destroyed only instruments that where already broken/non-functional. Even then, they were hesitant to do it. Label Executive: So, what genre of music do you play? Rock, metal, punk, pop, funk, jazz, electronic? Gacharic Spin: *Yes.* You haven't seen energy until you have seen a Gacharic Spin live show. Here's a few song suggestions 'Redline', 'Tamashii', or 'Hunting Summer' for the real chaos. Ok, you have reacted to Gacharic Spin & Unlucky Morpheus. Now it is time to react to the supergroup, DOLL$BOXX - a fusion of both of those two bands. Try 'Take My Chance' or 'Shout Down'

We hope to get to them eventually, though the request list is hugely long (15+ A4 pages) and we do the requests in order received, so after 100+ episodes we have a lot to get through. You can have a request bumped up by putting it through Buy Me A Coffee (link in episode description), otherwise, we will continue to do our best to get through them all. We have a long journey ahead! 🙂 Thank you so much for viewing and engaging. Much appreciated! 🙏

My first introduction to this band was a live version of this song and when it was finished I literally thought "WTF did I just listen to"? in a good way of course. Gacharic Spin has become one of my favorite bands since they have a very original, eclectic sound, not to mention that these women are extremely talented. Somehow they can put a variety of musical genres into their song writing blender and what comes out is pure Gacharic Spin. And yes, they are bass dominate since the band was started by bassist F Chopper Koga. As for energy, watch one of their live shows. How they don't collapse from exhaustion after the 4th song is beyond me. They also had a side project, Doll$Box, a few years ago with Fuki, the current singer of Unlucky Morpheus, with more amazing music.

I stumbled across GS about a year & a half ago, and like you this was the first video I watched, I was blown way. So I went down the rabbit hole searching them. They've been through many incarnations since their beginning, however I think this is the best lineup so far. That said they added a new drummer shortly after this video, and she's equally good. Hana has gone out front & plays guitar, plus co-vocals now, and an occasionally plays other instruments.

Hi guys, when you see this band live, you think you see another band. And I tell you: they are even better and more impressive live. These women live with an energy that is truly unparalleled. This band cannot be classified musically. They're universal, that's why I've become a fan too - although I actually only listen to HM and HR. 4 members of the band plus the female singer Fuki (also singer of Unlucky Morpheus) also have a heavy metal band going: Doll$boxx Here are two links to great live performances : 1. Awesome! We look forward to finding out. We added it to the request list, but it is extremely long and we do it in "first come, first served" order, so we hope to get to it in the near future. We do this part-time, so we struggle to get through recording many episodes every week and the list just keep getting longer and longer (over 15A4 pages already), which is why we introduced the Buy Me A Coffee option if anyone wants their requests to be bumped up. I think to better frame out or digest GS you have to decide upon visualizing what is already seen, where to continue it( you know it's kinda the first heard fragment The Four Seasons of Vivaldi coming out of an opened window): with Spring, Summer, Autumn or "Mindset'' time. I think you have to travel through all these periods because each stage has its 3 treasures with such a contradictory consistency that won't make you feel bored. Yeah, Not to forget, Hana Sano is a slick step dancer. In my knowledge there are(were) only two simultaneously a sick badass musician-drummer-vocalist-dancer and so on; very, very charming ladies in the Rock world: 1. Olivia Favela of "Birtha" 1972-75; 2. Hana-Sano of "GS".

Your first pronunciation (ga-cha-ri-ku)was correct. Thank you for not comparing them to Red Hot Chili Peppers. GACHAPIN have have been around for 13 years, with numerous lineup changes. This song is from their most recent album. The other video for the same is “I wish I”. Watch the MV first. The older, hard rocking SEKIRA LIAR (Naked Liar) has a different sound. You can compare two different lineups with these videos - MV, 2015, with a post-ARMMY line up comprising a four-piece and two dancers - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoTbaq1uj8l3g5I - Live, 22022, with the current line up, including “mic-performer” pink-haired ANGELINA 1/3, blue-haired drummer HANA on guitar, and young YURI on drums - kzbin.info/www/bejne/a52uqZSkiNGnjsU

They are my favourite band - from anywhere, anytime Anyway here is my usual breakdown. (This song *Mindset* is from the latest iteration of the band - the core members, bass player, drummer, guitarist have been there from the beginning and the keyboard player almost from the beginning. Pink hair girl doesn't come in until modern times lol) First Period - 2009-2012 The band was started in 2009 by F Chopper Koga (bass) she had been in another band "The Pink Panda" but wasn't happy so decided to start her own band but only if her former high school classmate and best friend Hana (drums) would join. They then recruited Armmy as the vocalist and guitarist Eita, however Eita only lasted a few months and was replaced by Tomo-zo. This lineup lasted until 2012 when Oreo Reona (keyboards) joined and almost immediately after that Armmy left, the reasons are messy - she'd been missing gigs and was clashing with Koga and was probably ill, she subsequently formed a band with Eita ironically enough but was to die in 2015. 2nd Period - 2012 - 2018 Their mid period, Hanna & Oreo took over the vocals and two dancer/performers were added to the band. Originally Arisa and Mai, Arisa left to concentrate on her senior year of highschool so Mai was joined by Nenne a classmate and fan of the band. Nene had to leave in 2017 because she was getting hearing damage, Mai left in 2018 after 6 years with the band. 3rd Period 2019 saw Angelina 1/3 (pink haired girl) join and a month later yuri joined taking over the drums allowing Hana to move up front adding an extra guitar - the current line up was complete. (yuri was having a baby at the time they did this video, so Hana is on the drums here) There was also a side project around 2012 called Doll$Boxx - That's another story though. I actually have a suggestion, there happens to be a song "Lock On" that they play and have videos for in all three iterations of the band. Once in 2010 (the year I discovered them), once in 2017 and then again in 2020. I think they make an interesting study in the development of a band 😉 If you are interested here are the links. 2010: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYm9eqCpj9qdhsU 2017: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2LShquqa7dqkNk 2020: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKKTgJaIj8mWptk 🤘🏳‍⚧Ӝ⚢Ӝ🏳‍🌈🦘
