Her debut album had four #1 singles (this song was third), but the first one was "Straight Up" and I love it even more! You definitely should check it out! Sadly, her 2nd album just had two #1s and hasn't had any since.

Also, the music video is based on a clip from the moviev 'All That Jazz' (1979). She did get some backlash on the hat she was wearing, reminding some people of the german military, but it was actually just marine gear. Ariana Grande' 'Yes, And?' is based on that same Jazz clip.

Also, if you notice at the beginning of Paula’s video one of the ‘suits’ says “It’s supposed to be a Bob Fosse thing”. When Paula’s video came out I was young, but as a dance kid, I knew exactly what she was doing. And “All That Jazz” is one of my fave movies of all time. I recommend watching it in full! ❤

Great memories from when I was 12 when I was in 6th Grade at college. 🙂😊☺🥰😍🤩 I remember this song very well because it was my favorite with Straight Up released a year earlier of which I also liked the CLIP which was broadcast on M6 channel or during the TOP 50 ranking on canal +. I even recorded the song on cassette when it was on the radio. I prefer this version also called "edit version", shorter but which contains a new "rap" part which is not in that of the album and longer too. As a kid, this music video had an impact on me! I have always loved Paula's choreographies which are always top notch! I also love this album which I bought 2-3 years after its release at FNAC store and which I still have. Even the album “Spellbound” released in 1991. There are other songs released as singles that were remade or shortened for single versions I think like Opposites Attract (1989) and Knocked Out (1990) and of course Straight up (1988) the cult single!😉A must!

Another good review, however in your blue link in the bio you put #90sreact-when it is an 80's react as came out as a single in 1989 but off of the hit debut studio album: Forever Your Girl in 1988! You even said yourself at the start of video that music video/song is from 1989 + very 80's! And when you going to react to one of them 80's acid house songs/music videos I sent youa very long time ago??? One thing not seeing the music video, but how have you never even heard this song before lol
