"Ohne Dich" is a great video for a beautiful ballad born from the Mutter era when they nearly broke up, but found ways to work better together as colleagues and friends. "Radio" is one of my favourites from their previous album, dealing with radio censorship, life in the GDR (East Germany), and a general commentary of the importance of music/freedom of the airwaves. "Haifisch" is a great video that makes references to many of their other previous videos and pays homage to Bertolt Brecht's Threepenny Opera (The Ballad of Mackie Messer). "Rosenrot" is a great video and the lyrics pay homage to Goethe's poem "Heidenröslein".

Yes I was 8 when I started listening to them. I know it's young lol but I guess I was always one to do things others didn't and got introduced to Rammstein very young. I loved them so much right away. My dad was not happy about that though 😂 my mom didn't care though but my dad hated it lol but I kept listening to them in secret anyway 😁 I was a rebel 😂 And I'm not surprised that rammstein made it to the end. They are amazing. Their riffs and drum work are simple but so good. Good thing about that, they are easy songs to learn on the guitar and drums lol

Till Lindemann also has solo work. For example the great song/video (and lyrcis) 'Ich Hasse Kinder'. But he also has very calm classical music like Alle Tage ist kein Sonntag with violinist David Garrett, or the beautiful french song Le jardin des larmes with ZAZ. Or his other project together with Peter Tägtgren called 'Lindemann'. They have two albums and one live dvd. It includes rap music, tango music and very VERY extreme music videos that are not available on youtube.

On the first layer it can be seen as a pure fun song, just well suited under the influence of alcohol at parties, concerts or folk festivals to simply shout along like the Till character in the video. Personally, my favourite is "Du riechst so gut '98". The song was the first single from their debut album but they weren't satisfied with the original video (from 1995), which was intentionally reduced and restrained in design, so they made the new one, accompanying the re-release of the single with some new remixes, which is kind of an adult Little Red Riding Hood version. A comparsion between their original "Seemann" (second single from the debut album) with the 2003 cover by the Finnish symphonic metal group Apocalyptica feat. Nina Hagen (known in Germany as "The Godmother of Punk") would be interesting too.

Rammstein obviously also made fun of the German stereotypes, especially those known across the world thanks to Oktoberfest, and the American perpetuated views of Germany, thanks to the Americans occupying Bavaria and Hesse after WW2. The intro and the outro are very obviously the typical Bavarian brass Volksmusik / folk music. That knee-slapping dance is known as the Schuhplattler / the shoe-slapper, and is a real Bavarian folk-dance, where first the upper thighs, the knees, the calves, and then the rims or even soles of your shoes are slapped, while staying as upright as possible, all to the typical Polka rhythm of the brass music. That they combined it with their own industrial metal style is their twist on the genre. So with the title being "Big Boobs", the very revealing Dirndl traditional Bavarian female dress emphasizing and increasing the visual aspect of boobs, and all the innuendos of 'farm life' being sexualized it is a really fun song.

There is a say in germany, that you shouldn't listen to Rammstein while beating schnitzel, because it doesn't fit into the pan anymore after that. "Radio" is great video and music too. It's fun (of course, sexual explicit elements are not missing), but also a political metaphor. At the time of the division of Germany into two parts - in communist Germany there was only one connection to the free world radio (they sing "my ears have become my eyes"). The radio waves could not be beaten or arrested by the police. Definitely need to read the lyrics first (or have subtitles)

The music video for Amerika really does tie ibto the lyrics of both silly but brutally true in its words, Mann gagen Mann is one not many do reviews on, both videos for mein herz brennt the panio and first versions are great, ich will is nice to watch not first but after a few of the old videos too! Whenever I get the chance I wear my Amerika shirt, most think it's patriotic, very few do a double take and makes for a good laugh.
