I will always know her as Leather Tuscadaro on Happy Days.

Suzi Quatro was huge in England and Europe in the 70s as a glam rock icon. She was very influential on female artists that came after like Debbie Harry and Joan Jett. Try watching her Can the Can. She was most well known in the US as Leather Tuscadero on Happy Days (that is how I knew her growing up). She guested on the show about 7 times and always sang. I love her voice. And yes love Chris' voice too. Stumblin In is so good I could just play it over and over and over. Loved it when it came out in 1979.

Chris Norman sang with the band Smokie. They had a hit with the song "Living Next Door To Alice"! Suzi Quatro is from Detroit, MI and is known as one of the "Detroit Rockers" as I like to call them. She had hits with "Can The Can", "She's In Love With You" and "If You Can't Give Me Love", the last two are on the same album as "Stumblin' In" called "If You Only Knew Suzi" This song was actually her biggest hit.

what surprises in this song, is that it is totally not their musical styles. So many rockers are quite succesful with their slower and romantic songs
@TheLilRocker2005 Жыл бұрын
@@resireg no what surprises me is that this was the only hit in the US that Suzi Quatro had! She deserved to have way more hits on the charts especially since she kicked the door down for women in rock! Think about this! Had there been no Suzi Quatro, Joan Jett wouldn't have been inspired to form The Runaways! I'm sorry, I'm all for a good ballad but for that to be Suzi's biggest chart hit in the States is blasphemy, especially since she had songs that were MILES better than this!

@@TheLilRocker2005 in my country, her biggest hit was 48 crash. I would listen that on the radio. But that song is unknown in the rest of the world

@@TheLilRocker2005 similarly, More than Words is the biggest hit by Extreme, but any of their records or concerts show a much more hard rock. Alice Cooper for example is more known by "I never cry" or "you and me", "only women bleed", but that is not what he and his band sound like

@@resireg I love 48 Crash! I have a lot of Suzi's music on my phone. Yeah even here in the States, Extreme's biggest hit was "More Than Words" which I really wasn't a fan of. I preferred "Hole Hearted" and "Play With Me" Alice Cooper here was more known for the rocking songs "Eighteen" "School's Out", "No More Mr. Nice Guy", "Poison", "House of Fire", "Teenage Frankenstein", and "He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask)" all still get a lot of airplay in my area. On the other hand, those ballads you mentioned, outside of "Only Women" would be considered more "Deep Cuts" that his hardcore fans would know about. I actually happen to have 45s of all 3 of those you mentioned "Only Women", "How You Gonna See Me Now" and "You and Me" which is actually one of my favorites of his along with his song "I Am The Future" from the movie "Class of 1984"

Hi Dereck, Such a tune- I read Suzie's book and she said this song was climbing the European charts but stalled at 41 in the UK. They were asked to do [Top of the pops] But he refused- Shame. Smokie also worked with Agnetha [Abba] on her 83 Album/ Wrap your arms around me.
