@@somewhereinthisworld3489 I'm going to let most of my favorites be a surprise to John, but you are going to see most of the Superband bands. Plus Rolling Quartz, Jaurim, Dickpunks, Nell. There's a bunch of Kr&b artists who play instruments. There's also some that are hard to classify, like the Antenna artists (jazz/rock/blues/pop/???). My key is awesome live performances, because that's what I want to feature.

I forgot that interview was in there, sorry. The lead vocalist of The Volunteers is an Idol, Baek Yerin. She trained with JYP Entertainment and debuted in the duo 15& in 2012. The duo broke up in 2015, and she's been a solo singer-songwriter ever since. At first she stayed with JYPE, and after he contract ended in 2019 she formed her own label, Blue Vinyl. The bass player in The Volunteers is also her producer and boyfriend, Cloud. She still has an Idol solo career, and she is still releasing music under her name, Baek Yerin, which is much more pop oriented. She performs with the same band, they just don't show as many tattoos. The Volunteers is kind of a side project, where they can show their rock side. Yerin also sings completely in English with The Volunteers, even at Korean rock festivals. It's so weird seeing a tatted up ex-JYP Idol fronting a rock band, slinging the f-word like Axel Rose. But I love them.
