While there are in fact different uses and advantages each weapon possesses, the main thing that your team’s combat centers around is actually the what elements your characters use and how they apply those elements to create elemental reactions and that is what your teams will be centered around. There are a plethora of options when it comes to elemental reactions that work in different ways so no 2 teams have to be perfectly alike, and there is ample variety in how you choose to set up your characters too so there are so many ways to customize your own team.

You will meet a few people aged hundreds to thousands of years in your journey.. They're usually a very powerful being & sometimes can appear younger than they look because they can take many form.. 21:25 I have no clue who gave you this bullshit idea that there's no really bad/evil people in Genshin world.. Some of the playable character really is bad people and caused chaos that could & have killed a lot of innocent people for their own gain & agenda (if that isn't considered evil, then nothing is).. The world is just massive, every locale from the trailers is in the game. At least three more countries to be released too. You can walk to most everywhere right away, but the Electro nation is locked for story reasons. The “main” character of Genshin is whichever of the Twins you chose to play as. The story is about them journeying from country to country in search of the other twin. Four party members; every character has one of five weapons and one of 7 elements. So you’ll have an Ice Archer, a Fire Spear and a Grass Mage, for example. The Twin you start with learns each element as they travel the world but starts as Air element. They can be removed from your party of four, but they’ll always be the “star” in cutscenes. Most characters are floating around their early 20s, yes. The gods are obviously centuries old but as you may have picked up on from these trailers Nahida is significantly younger (by a god’s standard).

@@GOTGames You're welcome but I've just realised a really key mechanic I haven't seen explained in any of the top comments. I'm sure someone on one of these has at some point but just so you know what you're getting into; Character unlocks are luck based. You earn 'wishes' as you play that you spend to unlock a random weapon or character. Every 10th wish is a guaranteed 4 star character or weapon and every 90th is a guaranteed 5 star. You'll earn a lot of wishes through gameplay, especially at the start, and you can buy them. This is how the game can be free. You can get repeat characters and weapons. You can merge duplicate characters 7 times to power them up. If you pull the same character an 8th time you get enough currency to buy one wish instead. There are 4 'banners' you can wish on. These have higher chances of getting certain characters, and update every patch. So if you logged in today there is a banner where Kazuha is the 5 star you are most likely to get, whilst Yaoyao, Heizou and Xiangling are the most likely 4 stars. But none of these are guarantees still. Sorry, last part. You are given a starter party and it's possible to see almost everything just with these four and four(?) more that you can unlock through gameplay. You will naturally get the Twin, Kaeya, Amber and Lisa. Through unlocks you can get Barbara, Noelle, Collei and Xiangling. So this gives you one of every element of character so that you can unlock every puzzle element on the over world.

Boss OST next please! Personal favourite is Scaramouche Boss OST which is the big mecha boss you saw, but any of them is great and definitely recommended. If there is one thing Hoyo does right, it is the music To answer your question - How big is the map? Yes. Just yes. And if the things you are seeing are real places in the game? Also yes - and it does look as pretty as it is in the trailer.

Definitely worth watching Travail, which is the story roadmap. There are character overviews that explain how they play called Collected Miscellany but I don't recommend them until you're familiar with how to play the game. Also, whatever anyone suggests, DON'T watch A Winter Night's Lazzo. It doesn't really make as much sense unless you have context, and it actually has spoilers. You probably would be able to forget them in time for it matter, but I still don't think watching it now is the right call. Honestly, would love it if you checked out some more of the live music performances.

So, that giant purple mech suit… that ain’t the big bad guy in the ENTIRE story. We technically don’t know who the MAIN bad guy is yet (although there’s many theories). Also, the main character is the blonde person you see running up the boss’ arm. They’re simply referred to as “the Traveler” and you can name them whatever you want, but their real names (depending on who you choose at the beginning) are Aether (the brother) and Lumine (the sister).

In regards to your questions about characters' gameplay, Genshin's character mechanics are very different from your typical RPG. Rather than 'weapons', the important thing is their attacks (Normal ATK, Charged ATK) as well as skills (Elemental Skills, Elemental Burst). Characters can be categorized into 1.) Elements (Dendro, Hydro, Cyro, Electro, Geo, Pyro, Anemo) and main roles (Support, DPS, Sub-DPS) Then, it goes deeper into 'scaling'. Each character would scale off different things such as ATK/ATK%, HP/HP%, DEF/DEF%, Energy Recharge, Elemental Mastery, Crit Rate/Crit DMG. Note that even some DPS characters' damage would scale off of HP/HP% aka Yelan, your girl. There are numerous ways you can play Genshin's combat. For example, you can have 1 main DPS surrounding them by characters that would support the DPS or you can play quick swap teams where you utilize their elemental reactions. It's extremely important to read up on what each character does, what is your comfort level with playing each character and finding your best gameplay. In the beginning, focus on 4 main characters that will be your main team. You need to do this because resources are scarce and you will find yourself running out of materials, having no real strong character and just 'broke' in everything. Eventually, if you want to go beyond that, then you will need 2 teams of 4 characters and you can eventually try out Spiral Abyss which is a dungeon with up to Floor 12. It's very tough though so I really don't recommend you fret about it. This said you will also find people talking about 'meta' teams, 'broke' characters etc. My advice when you start out, ignore the meta and just enjoy. Plus, I have seen people play just starter teams without pulling for any of the gacha and clearing the game contents without a problem. I've seen people build healers into DPS. There's really a whole bunch of ways you can fool around because of how diverse the combat system is.

Version 3.0-3.3 is the sumeru story(the fourth region added) and it's honestly genshin at its peak. Easily my favorite in terms of the main story. Version 2.0-2.1 the inazuma story(third region added) is a very close second. Version 1.3 is also a good candidate too. Every version that gives us a new region is always top tier so expect the fifth region to get a lot of views(coming in the next couple months)

To answer your question on character roles in combat, this game is more focused on elemental reactions. Each character has an element, and you can make teams to use elemental reactions to deal more damage in a strategic way. Without going too much in detail, there are some roles too, such as a main damage dealer, an off field damage dealer (you only play one character on field at a time), and supports (healers / shielder / buffer / debuffer / battery). Utilizing elemental reactions with each of these roles allow you to do lots of damage. But don’t stress too much, combat in the storyline is very beginner friendly, it only gets difficult in the end game feature called the spiral abyss, but I personally hope you do not get into that, because it is a nightmare. But that’s a short explanation of the combat in genshin

There's no 2.9 because the versioning is more of a software standard - it goes from 2.8 to 3.0 because 3.0 is a major update - typically with Genshin, the major version gets incremented with each new region introduced. This is very common in most software versioning - Each '.' is separating out the scale of the update essentially. And you could, theoretically, have something like 2.11 (Major.Moderate), or 2.9.132 (Major.Moderate.Minor) (though they don't thanks to their update cycle), and it would be a completely normal and valid versioning. You are very likely to notice this kind of version numbering when you download drivers for your graphics cards and the like. In terms of how big the map is - the answer is absolutely massive. I would estimate somewhere around 160 square kilometers atm, but I could be wrong on that. And considering you don't have anything to zoom around with (there are teleport waypoints, but that's not going to help with the exploration aspect), this means it takes a while to get everywhere. Especially since there are a TON of underground areas. And on the note of how teams are built, there's a LOT of ways to build them, but I'll try to avoid getting too deep into all the details. Usually ranged/melee doesn't matter (too) much, but you'll focus on things like defensive/offensive supports, main dps, etc. But the comparatively recent addition of dendro (plant) element last year has muddied the old traditional team comps quite a bit - there's quite a few teams that are really good that don't exactly have a real dps in them, focusing purely on tons of elemental reactions.

A great thing to check out before you start the game would be the 'Teyvat chapter storyline preview : Travail. It gives a brief overview of the direction of the story and information on each of the regions that are in, or will be added, to the game.

The reason you see some characters you don't remember watching trailers for is that a couple haven't been released yet but have places in the story and some are characters that have been around since the beginning of the game but never got trailers (Jean who shows up in Klee's trailer to put her in timeout, Diluc who...I don't remember how much we see him in these trailers but he dresses all in black and has long red hair, Sucrose who is the one with glasses you pointed out, and Razor who was shown particularly in that one trailer where they talk about wine are a few examples).

I recommend weekly boss OSTs next and then we aren't done. Oh no no. We go next to "Collected Miscellany" videos which basically explain every characters's abilities briefly and some LORE. Edit: There are no version trailers after v1.6 or v2.7 as they directly add a new region in our journey so we skip the other patches in between directly to 2.0 or 3.0. My favourite version was 3.4 (I started playing about 2 years ago in 2.4). It was generally a really good update with good character releases and the Chinese New Year event with enjoyable events. Yes there is a main character that we play as, The Traveler, either male of female. The blonde guys. (Their actual in game name is Aether for male and Lumine for female but we change it to our account name). They're the brother and sister twins. There are 4 character in a party and each character generally has different kinds of characters like on field carry, off field carry, shielder, healer, support, etc. You can complete the game even if you start now or anytime later. It is never too late to start. The main story is short and sweet and easy to follow. Yes some areas are locked behind some world quests, and Hoyo keeps adding new "sub regions" pretty frequently for exploration. Each version adds some permanent content and some temporary event content. Also if anyone tells you to watch "A Winter Night's Lazzo" trailer, please do NOT watch it. It contains HEAVY spoilers for the story. It's not worth watching it as it spoils the most hype part of the story in the 2nd region.

Yes the areas that you have seen can be explored in the game ( well some areas are time limited but the whole world of teyvat is sooo big ). You can check out the interactive map of teyvat ( just search it and it will come out ) to see how big the world of genshin is. Also not all area and regions are out so it will become even more huge than what we currently have now.

I've said it before but I'll say it again. Could you react to a person named Subutai? They make amazing fan made trailers for the game. My favorites are "Khaenri'ah Rising" and "Beware the Heavenly Principles". They're all so good and they definitely deserve more attention. I think the next thing you should see is the Teyvat Trailer. It’s THE trailer that basically started it all and it’s one that almost everyone always goes back to see after every major update. I would also recommend watching A Winter Night’s Lazzo Trailer (but only after playing through the Inazuma Archon Quest, given you need context and there will be spoilers if you see it before playing.) The game itself does take some time to get through. The story alone can take hours to go through but there is no need to speed through it. As long as you enjoy your time in the game, you will be fine!

If you going to play on stream I only want to warn you there gonna be A LOT of all-knowing people who tell you where to go and what to do, be prepared. Do what you want. Let the game explain itself, it is pretty intuitive, just don't ignore the explanations. You will get tons of materials to level up your characters, don't be afraid to waiste them in early game 😊

Teams are formed mostly based on elemental synergies. Most elements react with the others to do effects such as hydro and cryo freeze those affected. But the basic of team building is 3 supports (they do their summons, buffs, shields, etc. then get off the field) and a main damage dealer who will attack an trigger elemental reactions for the big damage.

Besides Honkai trailers I recommend the live concerts for both Genshin and Honkai Impact 3rd. There are 4, 2 for each. The second Honkai concert is interesting because they used the same AR technology as Mandalorian to blend game assets with real life.

But the world, the world is something else, and it is gigantic, big, enourmeous. Once I showed my dad how big it is, by showing my position on the map and then traveling for a while and showed my new position, he couldn't belive it, hehehe, and then I showed very different places, all worth of art awards, and I made him listen to background music. Then he sat with big eyes for a while without saying anything, left me, to talk to me next day about it with a lot to say.

some trailers are for events that end after about 16-20 days so it's not all more story, but each country they add builds the world up further and bigger. the archon quests are the main story but there's a bunch of side quests and world quests that bring you further into the world and delve deeper into the lore of each region. since each place has inspirations from different places in this world they're all very complex and have their own specific fauna, flora and cultures. and the playable characters, as well as those important to the story are varied in personalities and reasons for interacting with the traveler (in a way you the player\the main character being one of the twins). from what we know so far there really is no actual "big bad" because every last involved individuals have their reasons for doing what they're doing and altho they may go about it wrong they can have good reasons why. the bosses have always been big but they are getting better at making the boss fights more "epic".

There are updates every six weeks with new content, sometimes are new regions or zones to explore and sometimes are new main missions, but there are always limited time events to participate in. Certainly there is a lot of content for someone who begin to play now, but, in my opinion, is worth it, just take your time nd have fun with it!!

The version numbers are based on the regions: 1.0 and on were for Mondstat and Liyue, which came at the launch of the game. 2.0 and on represent Inazuma. 3.0 and on represent Sumeru (the current region). We are currently at 3.7.

Hey GOT! Great reaction! My favorite version personally was 2.7. It had an amazing quest and the event was overall amazing. Yelan and Kuki was introduced and they're very good in game/personality imo. Fontaine will be releasing around the time you start playing. Unfortunately, it will take quite a long time for you to catch up since new content is being released every 1-1.5 months. If you play the game 2-4 hours a day, it will take you around 2-3+ months to catch up. I recommend just focusing on the archon quests/story quests because some of the content in the game is story locked especially when you reach Sumeru. Can't wait for your journey into teyvat! Never too late to join the amazing journey ahead!

People have probably mentioned this already but lots of stuff in these trailers are limited time events. Its generally that half the trailer will be permenant content (either archon quest which is main story, story quests which are about the characters you play as or world quests which are juat about the world/npc's) and the other half will be the big event of the patch which is gone after a few weeks. So stuff like that competition you asked about, the TCG thing at the end, as well as the summer thing right at the start of the video (those were the easiest ones to describe) are all unplayable now as the events have ended. Basically that means that while there is loads to do and the map is huge, its not as overwhelming as it might seem because lots of content will be gone now. Its a shame some events are limited as some of them are really really interesting and fun but if you dont play them when theyre out then youll never get the chance to.

The game updates of 2.0, 3.0 etc are the launch of a new country, so there's no guarantee how many .x 's there are. Most updates add a small area to the map, and often expand the range of puzzles and enemies as they go, with major new additions with the start of each region. Yeah the traveller (whichever you pick) is the main character, and their sibling is an antagonist in the main story.

At most we have an age range for some characters like Kaveh who is said to be in his mid twenties in his hangout, or the archons who are in the thousands of years old. Every place shown in these trailers are all basically in the game and it still is expanding. The next expansion would be the nation of Fontaine on version 4.0 which would be around August. It will actually be teased on the version 3.8 livestream next week. As for the good and the bad. Well the game makes you think for yourself on who you would consider bad and good. Most of the characters are more like shades of gray than completely black and white. Then for the exploration and game mechanics. There's basically Archon Quests, World Quests, Story Quests and Limited Time Events. The Archon Quests is basically the main story quests. The world quests are more like side quests that are sometimes a pre requisite to do an Archon Quest. The Story Quests are ones that will make you understand a certain character better (most story quests are five star characters). Then there's the limited timed events which is basically a patch only event with different mini games. For the exploration, it's big. There are currently 4 nations out of 7 available to explore with 1 more coming soon. You're free to explore everything right from the start except for some story related areas. There's puzzle mechanics too and things to collect.

Regarding the "Is Genshin never ending?" Basically, you have 7 archons (gods) and each one is a god/goddess of a city. So, there would be 7 cities, this year will be out city N°5, every month and a half (more or less), they do an update, it can be about story, they can upgrade part of the new city we're in and of course it can have new bosses and playable characters.

This world is very big and it is still expanding. Of course, so are the main story quests. You will notice some version trailers feature stories that are subpar from the rest but they are "story fillers" like a break before they go to the more serious stories.

We already have the Tevhat Chapter preview trailer that maps out the upcoming regions, and we know of certain leaders of enemies factions that we haven't seen yet, and even though we have enemies, we have also been shown we don't know the half of it, and the enemy factions might not actually be the bad guys. So in every version they add version events. They are game modes and stories that will only be active during the version. Usually these events will not be accessible after the end of the version. The 2.0, 3.0 etc version updates add new regions or countries for better understanding, to the game. So the 4.0 version updates will introduce us to a new regions in the game. They also add new regions to explore in the new regions throughout the update cycle of 1 year. For example, version 3.0 added the region of sumeru, in 3.1 and 3.2, they added a new desert region in sumeru, and in 3.4 they expanded the desert again.

Yeah all you see in the version trailer is in the game and you can go there.. and fun fact if they show an area in the trailer with little to no character then they are showcasing a new area that are new to that version.. so like example in version 3.0 they show a lot of forest biomes and in 3.1 they show a lot of desert biomes. Summoners Summit is where we are right now. Genshin has an in game TCG called Genius Invokation, and the latest version focusses on a whole story about this TCG. Also not all the versions are important any more, as some focus on one off events instead of progressing the world as a whole

The trend has been to add a new region each .0 version. (1.0, 2.0, 3.0 etc) though they also add more "sub" areas in between the big updates. There was a Story Chapter Outline Trailer "Travail", it outlined 7-8 regions total and we currently in region 4 (soon to be 5). So there should be enough content for another couple years, and there is no guarantee they will stop at region 8.

Every 10th update adds a new nation and then there are smaller areas of those nations added in between, including separate temporary maps for some events. Sometimes they skip an update and just jump straight to the 10th, which is why there's no 2.9. I think 3.8, the next update, will be adding one of these temporary maps for an amusement park event. Temporary means the map will be in the game from the start of the update it came with until it ends which is around 36 days, and then it gets removed. In the 2.8 trailer the part with the islands and the boat was part of such an event, although that temporary map was repurposed from a similar event in 1.6. As for how long they'll keep updating and adding to the game depends on what they've got planned after they've caught up to the 7yr roadmap they made for the game. As of now we're on year 3 more or less. It also gets more complicated if Genshin is going to take the same route as Honkai Impact 3rd, we might be looking at a very very long game. For context Honkai Impact has been around for 6 years with 40-50 main story chapters to date, and they announced this year all of that was just the first stage of the game and now they're moving on with stage 2.
