Josh was amazing as always. Have to give Kelly credit for almost pulling off this song. No disrespect to her amazing voice but it doesn’t have an operetta range and she can’t quite get the high notes. Not all singers can do opera, it’s a completely different style just like not many opera singers can perform non opera songs. Josh Groban happens to be one of the few who can, as is Celine Dion. Hearing Josh & Celine together is pure magic (Katherine McPhee Foster can also pull off both styles).

Most opera singers not only can't hit the high notes, but they CAN'T ENUNCIATE - so they sound stupid running their words together.

This song is not opera. It is musical theater which is different. Kelly trained in opera. She got a scholarship with it, but chose to go a different direction for which opera technique is not good. Opera is a totally different technique, very technical, and that’s why opera singers can’t sing anything but opera. By the way, Josh is not an opera singer either. He also doesn’t have any versatility. All his songs sound the same. He has a great voice though.

Celine and Katherine don’t sing opera either. They can sing musical theater, which Kelly can also do. Kelly and Josh once spoke, on the Kelly Clarkson Show, about how they both did musical theater. It’s a great segment.
