Enjoyed your insightful commentary and reaction to one of the best Band-Maid hard rock songs. There is great symbolism here in going from the self-imposed darkness of stagnant complacently to accepting the challenge to be truly oneself by taking the risk to finally take off one's blindfold and stepping out into the light of new possibilities, come what may. Life is a gamble, and one must be willing to take risks in life while fully realizing that, either winning or losing, the choices must be up to you in the end. One can be as lifeless as that doll or become fully alive by being willing to risk rolling the dice of endless possibilities in order to step into a new world of existence.

Nice reaction. I think the lyrics were written to address a societal problem were many young people were becoming shut-ins, cutting themselves off from the world, hence the blindfold. They encourage them to take a chance on life and get out there in the world.

I agree with you ❤This is one of my favorite Band Maid songs. “May I take-ah you-ah oh-DAH!” Love it. 😢 Tears and goosebumps are common side effects from Maid magic. They have a way of connecting with you in all sorts of ways There’s so much more ahead for you! Your comments inspired me to make this list. Very small hints at the content so you can pick which ones seem to be calling your name: “Blooming,” punk pop masterpiece with slow reveal imagery “Puzzle,” painful love story through cinematic prog rock “Daydreaming,” uptempo alt rock ballad devoted to that “one of a kind” person “Choose Me,” punk/classic rock anthem to someone who needs a little motivation to earn the Queen’s love There’s nothing but fun and adventure ahead 🚀 🎢

Seize the day and step outside - they are mostly positive in their songs. DICE is the song that captured a lot of fans, its the gateway to a wonderful world of rock that hasn't been seen for 30 years. Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid. Recommendations for next Band-Maid would be any official live video from their YT channel.

A large majority of Band-Maid songs make me feel happy, and almost every song makes me feel something, regardless of the lyrics. And then the lyrics usually do add another level of appreciation for me. Simply an amazing group.

You can say what you like. Band-Maid fans are the best and will sympathise. Our thoughts are with you. The band made a song during Covid for all the fans that were finding it difficult to deal with. Always nice to hear latin in a reaction (UK)

I love how music brings us all together. I also love that Band-Maid - my favourite band of all time - is bringing people who love rock music together. As an Aussie Maidiac, it is easy to assume I'm so far away from what's going on it's like living in another part of the solar system. But here I am watching your wonderful reaction and feeling the goosebumps all over again listening to "Dice." Don't worry about crying, btw. I think every Maidiac sheds tears every now and then because Band-Maid's music is filled with emotion. Many Band-Maid songs have made me reflect on parts of my past, and not all of those parts have been happy. Anyway, a huge shout out to you from the land of Oz. Peace, love, and good rocking!! 🤘🤘💕💕

Band-maid got a few songs where they pull down the tempo or intensity. Usually it's for then come back even harder. One good example of it is "Blooming", which is such a well-composed and arranged song, that it's hard to keep the same intensity live. There's some really tough vocal-lines there. Recommend the video.

Hello, from Japan. Thank you for paying attention to Band-Maid. There are no bad songs among Band-Maid's songs. No matter which song you choose, it will become your new favorite. First, please listen to the three songs "Choose me", "Protect You" and "Shambles". I think you can get a glimpse of some of Band-Maid's characteristics.

0:40 they don't do other genres; they infuse them into their own brand of musicianship. band-maid are a genre upon themselves. 😉💪🤘 on a non-cheeky note, it's a rare thing for their lyrics to resonate with a new listener, but we're glad you appreciate the kind of music they bring. their lyrics are mostly about firm resolve and self-determination. it's a consensus among maidiacs, casual and hardcore, that the ladies convey their views positively -- especially 'hate'.

Weird and wonderful how music can bring back memories and you are able to recall wonderful reminders. The song I guess is very much about breaking out of the shackles and blinkers that we are constantly being made to wear. Band Maid always positive.

Here's my take on DICE's lyrics: I know the "dice" have already been thrown (as in her lyrics), but I choose to look at it as stop being indecisive, sitting in a dark room playing with dolls (TV, phone, toys, games, etc.). "Seize the moment", roll the dice, open your eyes, and walk into the light! Miku's lyrics, especially after translation, can be a bit cryptic - open for interpretation, as are all poems and lyrics. But their music is always right on point which melds the two into wonderful songs of possibilities!

The song's basically about taking risks, seizing opportunities, putting in the work to get the rewards. Roll the dice. Take your shot. The doll is just a doll. It's harmless - in fact, that's kind of the point. The doll is a simulated person, it's safe. The girl is blindfolded, in the dark, holding the doll for comfort. She's sheltered. At the end of the video the girl abandons the doll, lifts up the blindfold, steps into a blinding light that represents the uncertainty and opportunity that she's been hiding from. This song is a call to arms. In Japan they have a sub-culture of shut-ins, people who are either unemployed or under employed who basically won't move out on their own. They stay in their parent/grandparent's home basically playing with dolls or video games, instead of getting out and living life and trying to better themselves. This song is calling them out. Challenging them, "Are you gonna stay in there playing with DOLLLLLLLLLS like a little kid? Or are you going to stand up take off the blindfold, leave the dolls and games behind and step out into the real world?" At the end of the video, the girl puts down the doll, takes off the blindfold and steps into the light. It's called Hikikomori in Japan and is defined as: "pulling inward, being confined", also known as severe social withdrawal, is total withdrawal from society and seeking extreme degrees of social isolation and confinement. Hikikomori refers to both the phenomenon in general and the recluses themselves. The concept is primarily recognized only in Japan, although similar concepts exist in other languages and cultures. Hikikomori have been described as loners or "modern-day hermits". Estimates suggest that half a million Japanese youths have become social recluses, as well as more than half a million middle-aged individuals. - Definition from Wikipedia

Too bad you have already reacted to "Rinne". It might have be a spookier Halloween video for you to react to. The video is shot in monochrome through an 8mm camera lense. Why this was done is Saiki is a big fan of Japanese horror movies. The video is an allusion to a horror film where a serial killer shot the moments where a victim died and then their souls left their bodies. Now that is the backdrop for a Halloween reaction.

The TIME when YOU made decision to roll the DICE, FROM NOW ON WITHOUT HOLDING BACK you have to finish the PUZZLE. “Seize The Moment” by BAND MAID (DICE). Learning Japanese sounds AWESOME, you are not ALONE (me pretty familiar with Japanese but never planed of learning until now but seriously started learning because of Band Maid). It will definitely be a PLUS if you understand Japanese especially if you planning of seeing THEM live one day @OKYUJI. You will understand what I mean if you learn more about Them. PEAXE&LOVE🕊️PO. Hi, Keeley. I didn't expect Dice to make you cry but I understand your pain following the loss of your tattoo artist friend. The lyrics of Maids songs are never negative even in a dark context (About Us, Daydreaming, Endless Story, Anemone...). On the contrary, they always give hope of seeing a brighter future or of keeping a link with a person you love who for whatever reason is far from you. I could suggest the song The One to pay tribute to your friend. It is not for a petty voyeuristic reason to observe your emotions but Miku's words will give sweetness to your heart as well as to me. Thanks and a big hug to you.

Yes, the blindfolded girl creeped me out at first, but in the context of the song, it fits. The song's focus is that in all relationships: love, business, friendship, or whatever, you are taking a chance, a roll of the dice and you have to make choices. By sitting quietly in the chair blindfolded, the girl is childishly allowing others to control her. But hen she takes off the blindfold, lets go of the doll, and takes her first steps on her own. Oddly enough, Band-Maid had to work through similar contentions with their management. After adhering to their management's wishes for the first year, Band-Maid was a hair's breadth from being broken up. They were sent to film a video and they performed "Thrill", a hard rocker, instead instead of the soft, sweet "Love, Passion, Matador". This was Band-Maid's decision and soon after that video went viral, the band formed their own limited corporation and started working toward gaining control over their management. On September 25, 2024, the day they released the album "Epic Narratives", they announced that they were from that day self-managed under the name MAIDIT co, LTD.

Personally I'd say their 'spookiest' MV is After Life. Assuming it directly follows the events of Warning MV then Band-Maid has just died in a car crash and are hunting a maid cafe, dragging the inhabitants into purgatory while their music drives them into psychosis. Presumably this is necessary for the maids to resurrect. Honestly all three MVs from Unseen World are kind of low key eldritch horror, the MV for Manners sort of implying that the maids are living plants that have now escaped the mansion they were grown in and now freely roam with us.

Why are you counting the English words?? Do you know why Miku uses some English in her lyrics?? Western Bands have been touring in Japan since at least the 1960's and none of them ever sang their songs in Japanese. So why should the Japanese bands sing their songs in English??
