I'm in my 40's, & came across these Beautiful Human Beings just about 2yrs. now. And I love everything about them & what they stand for. I hold tickets for there concert for Toronto, Finger's crossed soon. When I started I felt weird because I thought I was the Only one my age listening to them, Come to find out the age ranges of Army is Vast. They just don't sing / Rap/ dance, they do it with Intellect & purpose. Bts tackles real world problems, I refer to Bts as A LIGHT IN THIS SOMETIMES VERY DARK WORLD. This song is from a BTS album so he is not Agust d in that song, he is Suga. Suga and Agust D are different personas, even though both of them are Min Yoongi.

Suga always said he wanted to be a Rap Star, he just didn't want to be famous. He just wanted people to hear his music. I think that was one of the reasons he auditioned at Big Hit; he wanted to be a producer. They convinced him to join BTS, and I'm so glad they did. 💜🖤💜

Idk if you realized that, but in the last part when the music change that's Yoongi's shadow talking to him "I'm you and you are me/ you can't escape/ we are one body/ you can't break me off". Also, when we talk about Yoongi with BTS is SUGA (or Yoongi ofc). Agust D is his soloist name and it's not related to the group. Thank you for your reaction! I really enjoyed it.

Don't know if you noticed in the beginning there is a Y on his shoulder. To me, I took this as him talking about wanting all those before he got as big as he now and the dark Yoongi as his shadow he talks about. He had to suppress that part of himself and his struggle to mesh the two. Because the bigger he got (closer to the spotlight the bigger his shadow meaning he was losing a bit of himself as he progressed). The part where he showed himself on stage and himself in the crowd was like self and shadow facing one another. [Look up C. G Jung Phyche structure of self] Then in the end when things got kickin, he came to terms with this and accepted that bits of himself will need to change in order for him to continue his journey. That was my interpretation. . . . .I know, kinda nerdy. But I love things like this that are deep. It just makes it more meaningful.

this one is about him wanting fame, but not wanting to be consumed by the shadow that is wanting it selfishly. hes fighting with himself because he doesnt like that part of him. theres multiple ways to interpret this, this is how i did. this is also part of the map of the soul series like i explained in the comment of the we are bulletproof the eternal mv. their music is very deep and has a lot of meaning so you really have to sit down and think about the lyrics. there is also a storyline running through some of their mv's and in a webtoon as well. there is a video here explaining it all so you can watch it on your own time or you can do a reaction if you want. and this isnt really agust d. on a couple of their albums, wings, and map of the soul, they have solo songs that represent something about them or they talk about something that they are going through, as well as group songs. so suga has interlude shadow, rm has intro persona, and j-hope has outro ego. and those songs each talk about something that the members are going through. map of the soul persona was for army, as it just had songs that didnt really hold any personal meaning. map of the soul 7 has the personal songs for them. 7 starts off with intro persona, then has songs from mots persona, then interlude shadow which shifts it over to the personal songs. jimin has filter, jungkook has my time, jin has moon, and v has inner child. there are a couple of songs with not all the members. v and jimin sing about their personal friendship in friends, and they are probably the closest two out of the whole band, describing their friendship as 'soulmates'. then rm and suga do respect which is talking about their respect for each other, theyve known each other for 9/10 years, so theyve known each other the longest. then we are bulletproof the eternal, which i explained when you reacted to it. it then ends with outro ego. so mots persona was for army, and mots7 was for bts. 7 holds a significant number for bts, theres 7 members, and theyve been together for 7 years. sorry if this is a lot, i just wanted to give you information that i thought you needed and would help you better on your bts journey. also, you really should pay attention to the lyrics, not saying you havent, but a lot of their songs are like really hyped up or sound happy but the lyrics have a totally different meaning. so maybe watch the mv and read the lyrics later to really understand the meaning, because you cant understand it on the first try with their songs as, like i said, they have a really deep meaning.

Seeing BTS from a westerner’s perspective kind of skews our perception of just how big they really are. Here in the US specifically, they are still competing against big names in the industry and holding their own. They’ve outsold acts like Arianna, Lady Gaga, Kanye, even Drake when it comes to concerts. But when you bring it back to their home country, it’s a completely different ball game. BTS has NO competition in Korea. They are the best-selling artist of all times with a gap of 10M from the second act (a gap they created with only 3 albums), they broke the record for the best-selling album of all times with their last EP, Map of the Soul: Persona, then broke it again with their full-length album, Map of the Soul: 7-and it’s crazy to think about, but it is more than likely that every album they put out from now on will break that record again and again. They hold the record for most won daesangs (Grand Prize, biggest music award in S.Korea), again with huge gap (around 20) from the second act, and not only that, but they made history recently as the only act ever to win all four daesangs in a single night-what we call an all-kill. The longest-charting song in Melon (biggest streaming platform in S.Korea) also belongs to them, with Spring Day charting for about 3.5yrs and still going strong (she’s currently around the top 50s). Not only that, they are the most-streamed act on Spotify, having recently crossed 10B streams, and that’s a feat considering Spotify isn’t available in their home country. They are also the most-streamed group on Spotify in the world, with a consistent gap of around 5M every day from the second act (second place changes constantly). They are also the most-followed act on the platform. Anyway, this comment wasn’t made to just to brag, but to paint a picture as to why this song was made-why Yoongi (Suga) says think like “it’s lonely at the top”. For them, who came from literally nothing, to now being the absolute powerhouse that they are, it was terrifying-and even more so because their growth came about only 3yrs ago. And they still HAVEN’T peaked. Their fanbase keeps growing and growing, and even we Army sometimes get scared of how fast it is happening (we have a new batch of quarantine baby armys, a smaller batch of Class of 2020 Army, people looking them up after the whole BLM donation and fancam spam thing, and even people like you who became interested after Agust D’s D-2). Their new seven-year contract starts today, so we can only imagine the achievements of the future. I’m glad, though, that with his album (and this song) BTS have reaffirmed and rediscovered their reason to keep going-and the reason why people fall in love with them-which is their absolute love for creating music that heals and comforts people.
