Oh yes, JK can definitely rap very fast if he wants to. And yes even on paar with Suga's and RM's speed. We often see Jk rap Suga's parts when Suga is absent during performances. Even the very fast parts he aced them with ease. 💜💜

The mask was just a concept. He didn't have it in any MV before debut and if you really watch the MV, he doesn't even have it on face most of the time. It was interesting for jacket photoshoot and made him more mysterious. He had it even for some live stage, but He couldn't breathe in it, so I guess that was the reason, they got rid of that on next album. To think Big Hit put him in mask because some people thought he is ugly is just stupid to me... But if you have some proof, I will look at it.

Lol.. when you said "Sorry Jin, you can't convince me you're a bad boy".. I instantly remembered the butter album Jacket photo sketch.. when they were doing the criminals concepts.. RM said.. I only see them cute.. they are trying to look bad but they are just cute.. Also you HAVE to watch the no more dream performance with the dance break.. it killed every ARMY existed.. lol.. they wrecked me bad.. especially Hobi and Tae.. you might as well watch some focus fan cams.. Tae's fan cam is one his iconic ones.. I've seen alot of people react to this.. so don't worry it won't get blocked or anything.. If you want.. I'll drop the links in the replies.. and yes JK can rap.. he's the golden maknae.. he can do everything 😂😂.. Also did you see the Jimin Fallon interviews and performances.. they played a game with him as well.. its so fun.. and the performances killed me.. you will enjoy them very much.. To this day, No More Dream is one of my all time favorite songs from them. I can't believe they debuted with it 🥺 They set the bar high right from the beginning. But anyways, definitely recommend their live performance of NMD with a dance break (it's called Kynk on stage from 2016), it's gonna blow your mind. And my personal favorite is also from "ARMYPEDIA: 'BTS talk show'" where they sang NMD with a band and it's just a chef's kiss 👌 And yeah... Rapper JK was something else 😩 we all wish for him to come back. That's partly the reason he's called the golden maknae. ✨

I feel you when you say hip hop/rap isn't really your style but you end up liking BTS songs...I was the same before BTS and but now some of my favorite songs from them are the rapline songs...I think it's because we're used to American hip hop but with BTS it feels much different from the lyrics the visuals just everything is a bit different from America's style which is why I think I like BTS's style of hip hop more than America if that makes sense

Ive never been a fan of the “big” rap artists but I’ve always leaned towards the socially conscious stuff (Wale, Nas, Kendrick Lamar, Akala who is now a university professor in the UK - his Fire in the Booth sessions are raw facts and fire, can’t recommend enough). I’d forgotten I liked the rap style until I discovered these guys and now I’m back into it because I didn’t want all the homophobia and misogyny that made up the majority of the genre, I want rap like I want my punk - music critiquing social issues the beat is the hook but gimme depth.

On that you can see more adult version of JK really killing it. And rest of the vocal line too. ✌ BTS actually brought rap and hiphop back to my taste. They were young we they debuted their voices matured naturally.. some get irked when ppl say they sound different it’s only natural they grew up .. different doesn’t mean they were bad and got better .. it means they were good and got better they grew up and refined their voices … though i get why some get defensive BTS went through HELL when they debuted .. they got ridiculed relentlessly for their looks and sound and it escalated to personal attacks on EVERY little thing about them, attacks on their families, ridiculous accusations and death threats.. i think everyone saw their potential and tried to destroy them early on before they got big cuz their debut songs showed amazing raw talent and great potential.. that’s why we get defensive it became second nature to ARMY

I suggest you watch the latest version of this on your own. It’s the no more dreams version from the ON:E concert. It’s probably not good for you to react to it since it’s probably copyrighted...but I just watched it right now and the evolution is just incredible. First of all the production of the music is so different, so much more updated, but their vocals and choreography is the same but with the dance break. The Biggest difference is how grown up everyone looks in this latest version...they were just wearing jeans and oversized button up shirts. Their dancing was still synchronized but as you mentioned about their current dancing, it shows so much more of their individual styles. I am dead after watching it...the way they looked at the camera was soooo intense! Jimin...he had a difficult time in his trainee days...he was the last one to join and he did say he always thought he was on the verge of getting cut. I believe there were about 30 trainees that went through before they ended up with these 7. They said it was difficult since people would come and go and they all stayed in that apartment where there were 11 trainees that were in one room at one time! So Jimin really practiced a lot to make it and he also build up his body to fit the original concept he was given of the hyper masculine guy! To see them at the height of hip Hop swag you should watch the 2014 MAMA award show. They did a performance pitting them against another group block b...Jhope and Jimin’s performance was just jaw dropping...including Jimin ripping his shirt off! Great reaction...I really liked their hip hop songs! Surprising Cos like you didn’t like that genre before. It is the catchy tune and the passionate delivery that does is for me. Ps. Speaking of JK...you should read his latest interview on Weverse magazine. It’s very interesting Cos the kid is still constantly working of improving his craft! I worry about him sometimes...but he seem to be close to releasing his mixtape or he says as soon as possible! Lol can’t wait for that! I will never not love Jimin running on everyone's backs with JK holding him! There's a performance where there was a way bigger line of dancers he ran on. I loove that move!!! I agree with everything you said about their early days. So much talent, quality, and depth from the beginning! I also think a lot about Bang Si Hyuk, and how much his vision made the way for BTS to become what they have. He was the one who allowed and encouraged them to be so authentic and give their message. I saw a conversation between him and RM on a Rise of Bangtan episode the other day where he was encouraging RM to be bold with his rap lyrics, and not be a victim. I have huge respect for him. He was also the one who chose the choreographers, MV directors, music directors, photographers, etc. who produced such high quality work. I think he has truly been the wind beneath their wings--mostly invisible to the public, but incredibly powerful.

Due to the budget cuts, Jimin had to wear sleeveless shirts for the entire hiphop era. LMAO jk. As a company in the brink of bankruptcy, they did one hell of a job of moving the right chess pieces to make everything work as well as it did. And as well as not giving up on their dreams. Look at them now, they probably own a huge or at least some of the shares of Hybe/Big Hit.

Jimin had pretty substantial street?hiphop? dance background but he did also go to a performing arts high school where he majored in dance. From what I can tell (others can chime in with more info if I have this wrong), that is where he built up his contemporary/classical dance foundation - there seems to be no easily accessible info about him and contemporary dance outside of school whereas there are videos and stories of him performing street and kpop dance at dance camps and the like. Jimin seems to have been extremely hard on himself before and around debut, possibly because he had been a trainee for far less time (about a year or less) than the other members (up to 3 years). There are fundamental tensions between classical and street dance styles, and so it can be difficult to reconcile them - Jimin may or may not have experienced such challenges. He is a very talented and well-rounded dancer who has been quite good at combining elements from different dance traditions seamlessly, but seems to have embraced contemporary dance styles and forms much more in recent years.
@fandomtherapist9310
@fandomtherapist9310 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I just read an article where he said he was in danger of not debuting because of how hard the transition to hip hop was as his major was modern/contemporary dance. But that could just be him being humble or hard on himself as he does some like a bit of a perfectionist 🤷🏻‍♀️😁

Love your reaction, Laura! I really like that you read the lyrics as well as watch the MV and dance practices. And lives! Speaking of the live for this one, I could be totally wrong but it seemed like they might have been lip syncing? I know they do that very rarely but it does happen for some music show performances. Also someone mentioned the No More Dream live with dance break - if you can find that, it is a must-watch!! Take care and hope you are doing well!

JK was a sub-rapper during their earlier songs. He definitely could still rap now. Sometimes, vocal line and rap line change positions for fun or stuffs like that. Sometimes, the vocal line also tries to rap some rapline songs such as" Ddaeng". Besides that, sometimes, JK slids into the rapline when one of them is absent for some reasons whether it'd be RM, Suga or Jhope. Definitely, I'd like a comeback for Rapper JK. haha

Namjoon wore sunglasses throughout their first year or so after debut. I THINK it was because he was insecure about his looks, in particular his eyes. I'm glad he grew more confident as, as we all know, he's a handsome fellah. As for JK's rapping... I personally am not a fan of his rap in this song; I don't know why, but it doesn't fit for me. However, he is good and he's only gotten better imho, despite not rapping in their songs any more. If you want more of him rapping, there's the vocal line version of Ddaeng, the recent Sowoozoo performance of Daechwita--I can't remember if he only sings or if he also raps in the Chicken Noodle Soup one--and there's a vlive where he raps some of the rapline's UGH. As for watching things in order, I'm gonna send you a tweet with a suggestion about that lol

Having a dream does not motivate me. Being happy and doing what I want or expect does. I feel no lack in my life for a lack of dream or overall purpose/goal. Now this might be because I am older, or maybe because I am spectrum, but I relate more to the later messages that the guys have put forward that it is perfectly possible to be happy without a dream. As for the early album concepts - I can empathize with the overall messages of their albums when they were mostly school aged, but not really relate as I had more immediate and survival oriented concerns in my world at that time of my own life. However the individual songs from those « school » albums hold a lot of relatability for me in the emotions they were dealing with and the flavor of insecurity that I found myself dealing with later in my life. A few of the songs from their ‘hip-hop era’ are on my panic attack playlist, and that is the true indication, to me, that the BTS of today grew naturally from the BTS of then.

School is a big deal with Asian countries. It would be easy for westerners to say just follow your dreams but it would mean jack shit to kids whose parents expect them to finish in the top schools as doctors, lawyers, or engineers no matter if they want to be artists, dancers, singers. I honestly think if I knew BTS (though they were babies at the time and not a group yet) when I was in HS/college, I might have been courageous enough to follow my dreams and not just followed my Asian parents' wishes. So having this song is such a treasure for the current and future generations. Ps. Ahhhh fetus Bangtan is adorable, they're so tiny trying to be fierce and I just wanna give them all a bug hug. Pps. Namjoonie hated those glasses lol. He begged management to remove them and was so happy when they acquiesced in the next era. Ppps. Rapper JK is iconic. Until now I love it when he raps which is why people freak out whenever he does (Ddaeng and Daechwita, which you should see!!!) but I wouldn't say as fast as Yoonie. Pppps. That gunshot part with Tae is another iconic part of the choreo until now (they have performed this recently) and the perfect duality. Also yes, their choreo has evolved by leaps and bounds. Ppppps. I would say no, Jimin has popping and locking background not just contemporary which is why he is lead dancer to Hobi's main dancer. What he'd said in previous vlives were he was worried about showing skin so much that he'd get typecasted as the one who kept taking off clothes (but we see the shoulder accident a lot now lol).
@fandomtherapist9310
@fandomtherapist9310 3 жыл бұрын
Haha, I don’t blame him for hating those glasses 😂🤣😂 and I actually just read some articles where Jimin was quoted as saying the transition from being a contemporary dance major to hip hop was really challenging for him (even though he had some experience) and he was in danger of not debuting, but that could just be him being hard on himself 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s fun to see you go to the start! The message here is so important. The guy liner only really worked for Suga, Jk, and V IMO, I am so sad how insecure about their looks JHope and RM are with those outfits to hide behind. And Jimin who took a few years to admit he doesn’t want to be hyper masculine and wasn’t comfortable like this.

There is this one fancam of Tae doing the flicking off glasses move when he is a few years older where he goes from cute to hot instantly, I'll see if I can find it and put it in a reply. Also I'm seeing people say Namjoon wore the sunglasses and Hobi wore the mask because they were insecure - as far as I know that's not correct (if anyone has any evidence otherwise, let me know). I believe they were both just styling concepts given by the company to make them look 'cool', and it wasn't their choice to wear them. I know that Hobi didn't like the mask because he couldn't breathe well, and Namjoon really wanted to take the glasses off - Jimin said Joon talked to the staff about it. So I just wanted to refute the idea that they were somehow hiding.

Yeah, JK can definitely rap. And style-wise he's definitely closest to Suga. He's the sub-rapper, and he used to rap a-lot in the early days. Jungkook's ability to... basically pull off anything is one of the many reasons he's the group center. Nowadays he fills in for the rappers when they're missing/sick, and he does a TONNE of harmonizing under the rap verses that would only be possible if you're already a decent rapper yourself. I recommend an Ida S compilation of Jungkook rapping or the vocal line rapping "Ddaeng" for funzies. Also, Ddaeng is a good song to look into - the lyrics video/meaning behind....

Jimin then cute with chubby cheeks had beefed up to look older and by contrast JK wasn't allowed to work out so that he kept the innocent young boy look. He could still lift Jimin easily though. Jin must have been so relieved to leave that hip hop stuff behind. He is a precious baby angel even now at nearly 30. No, ARMY and themselves laugh at their beginning styling. They aren't huge tough guys and it was so outta character and cute but I love the song so much. This is the best video, the guys are watching their debut stage of No More Dream and Bulletproof. They cringe very hard at themselves lol. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKLLdYOPjZtlmMU I don't know who told you about Jimin not thinking he could dance more hip hop style, when there is a LITERAL VIDEO OF HIM DANCING HIP HOP WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER!! He started dancing hip hop and moved to contemporary which is where he excelled. But in earlier days he would do some hip hop with Hobi. The only thing I remember Jimin talking about is how this "tough style" wasn't really him, it took him a while to figure out himself and who he is but he knew this wasn't him. Funny enough he is a VERY sassy guy but his styling is much softer. Well this was their debut dance practice, they couldn't mess around too many groups don't make it to a year but even later that year and next year you see them play around in their dance practices. LOL when you had comeback show I thought you meant the original come back show. This was them doing the song during 2017 and DNA comeback I'm guessing. Cause I kept looking going, they look too old and that hair color on V was during DNA.
